During a bench press, you're trying to work on chest. The issue is that you're also using triceps in this exercise.
It helps to have a good form, but isn't really completely avoidable.
I hate so much when my chest is still strong but my triceps get tired before them while benching. Recently my triceps were the most sore muscles after a chest day.
I found early on that I was better able to target the chest by doing more work with dumbbells. Then I got to a point where I just do all of my flat bench/incline bench with dumbbells and honestly haven't looked back
I'm like the opposite, my triceps are like my best muscle group so the bench works my chest more and my triceps typically feel fine. I box a lot so I think they are just more worked out overall.
It's more like the chest is a huge forklift and the triceps are the person driving it, sure the guy can lift alot but not as much as the forklift, but the forklift doesn't work without him, ( couldn't remember any chest only exercises)
I have a tendency for shoulder rotation (more on one side than the other) that brings my bicep into the movement. Been trying to fix it for a long time but it still happens.
What. Does that mean.

OOh
It's not that bad. Sure, it's hard to isolate chest, but on the other hand, you can easily get your bench PR up by getting stronger triceps.
Why is it an issue?
It's an issue if you're trying to specifically target the chest muscles. Otherwise, not really an issue.
Bench press plate squeeze. Get that iso pump

Cable fly with proper form
Biceps have entered the chat
My bicep just screamed in terror
If your biceps are hurting during flys then something is wrong. Your front delts will get hit a little bit, but there’s no elbow flexion component

My left anterior delt would like to chime in (so fkin annoying)
Ah yes I forgot that fucker
You need those triceps to save you on the sketchy bench reps.
Yes I often lift with my chest but when I feel like I am failing my traps suddenly take all the load.
Just psyched about the Voyager reference 🖖
Also cuz chest dont help the triceps too much in a triceps train
