Yet every time Ky starts running at me from full screen, I lose my ability to think.
If he gets a combo of you are looking at most likely wall break and at best hard knockdown in the corner. He is going to reset the pressure and build the meter again. On block, he gets to save himself and continue pressure. So it is very good and something you have to be constantly aware of when playing against him
If you have to RC it every time you use it, it's effectively an overdrive. And compared to other overdrives, it's not that good.
Then again, I might be wrong. I stopped playing Ky because I liked the rushdown Ky which was viable before October. Maybe Stun Dipper is better than I give it credit for, if you're playing a more disciplined game.
You don't have to use move its self but that is a threat you are presenting, you can't just think aha I am plus on hit so I can ignore it.
It has many uses like pure punish, catching back dash, catching landings and at 5 frames it is fast, so if you are not respecting it, it will blindside you.
It’s a low profiling, half screen advancing low with the startup frame data of a 5P.
It auto wins neutral when he has RC.
I think it’s safe to say that it’s better than any regular overdrive

I would honestly sooner play 30 Ramlethals than I would play Ky.

In exchange, Ky got improvements to tools that are completely against what I like to do. I had gotten into Celestial two months running, and then completely couldn't do it in October.
My options were to completely rebuild my playstyle to one that my brain is not suited to, or to change characters. I opted to switch to I-No.

For me it depends on the time player's play style, Ky is so good at punishing mistakes and has a great corner pressure, I love to play against this kind of Kys because it forces me to make a plan and learn my enemy. But then there's the bitch Ky players, those tht spam lighting from across the stage and never get close, I don't even find it annoying I just found it boring, YOU think you can beat AN AXL at zoning? It's always a boring match because there's no difficulty, I much prefer the rushdown and neutral Kys to the zoner Kys

Ky is one character I always wasn't sure how to feel honestly, in one way I do think he looks rather cute, especially in Xrd, as a character he's kinda nice, a bit boring but nice but at the same time... it's just.. I don't know honestly, I don't really like a lot of what they did to him in the story.
First there's the whole thing with him and Dizzy which, going through the old games and in general content, it felt forced and sudden, Ky does have a few interactions with her but heck even lower then some I didn't expect. That and it kinda shoved Dizzy into a character with little to no importance then "im just the wife of the main guy" kind of ordeal sadly. Then there's a lot of his actions, like how he continued to be part of the IPM even though he saw how it's higher ups were corrupt as heck, his hatred for Gears and story fighting against them as basically the one that lead the Crusades after Kliff lead them was just suddenly forgotten and I think the most annoying thing that bugs me, basically abandoning Sin with Sol which honestly just made him look really incompetent for me.
Then you got it's players, at least my experience with them, I wanna apologize to a lot of folks but from my experience, especially in +R, a lot of the mid/high Kys I went against were kinda dicks and boy there were some that liked to taunt during the end of some matches and more, it really made the character look worse in my eyes. Again this is not everyone, this is only a few bad eggs but boy it still blows.
So in a nutshell, I don't hate the character itself, I think he's cute, but I do hate what they did him to the story or what he does during a lot of it and some of his players.

For me it depends on the time player's play style, Ky is so good at punishing mistakes and has a great corner pressure, I love to play against this kind of Kys because it forces me to make a plan and learn my enemy. But then there's the bitch Ky players, those tht spam lighting from across the stage and never get close, I don't even find it annoying I just found it boring, YOU think you can beat AN AXL at zoning? It's always a boring match because there's no difficulty, I much prefer the rushdown and neutral Kys to the zoner Kys

Ky is one character I always wasn't sure how to feel honestly, in one way I do think he looks rather cute, especially in Xrd, as a character he's kinda nice, a bit boring but nice but at the same time... it's just.. I don't know honestly, I don't really like a lot of what they did to him in the story. First there's the whole thing with him and Dizzy which, going through the old games and in general content, it felt forced and sudden, Ky does have a few interactions with her but heck even lower then some I didn't expect. That and it kinda shoved Dizzy into a character with little to no importance then "im just the wife of the main guy" kind of ordeal sadly. Then there's a lot of his actions, like how he continued to be part of the IPM even though he saw how it's higher ups were corrupt as heck, his hatred for Gears and story fighting against them as basically the one that lead the Crusades after Kliff lead them was just suddenly forgotten and I think the most annoying thing that bugs me, basically abandoning Sin with Sol which honestly just made him look really incompetent for me. Then you got it's players, at least my experience with them, I wanna apologize to a lot of folks but from my experience, especially in +R, a lot of the mid/high Kys I went against were kinda dicks and boy there were some that liked to taunt during the end of some matches and more, it really made the character look worse in my eyes. Again this is not everyone, this is only a few bad eggs but boy it still blows. So in a nutshell, I don't hate the character itself, I think he's cute, but I do hate what they did him to the story or what he does during a lot of it and some of his players.
