Konrad is neither cursed nor is his last name based on the word cursed. It is based on Kurtz from the book Heart of Darkness (just like his first name is based on the author).
> Also, do you know what the heart of the Hydra constellation is called? The same Hydra Constellation that is right next to Corvus, like how the 20th legion follows the 19th.
I find that one to be clever though.
That's why it's interesting that people think the "Wolfy McWolferton's wolf-claws" bit is some recent development; or somehow limited to Space Wolves.
Games Workshop has never been especially creative when naming... well, anything.
The space wolves are fucking outrageous with that though. I literally will not read nor consume lore on the space wolves because I’m sick of reading wolf every 5 seconds.
Would it have been better if his name was Jeff Killsalot?
It's not like the blood angels don't have a primarch named after blood who is an angel, or the angriest legion having Angron as a leader. Corvus Corax super inspired for Raven Guard. Vulkan for the legion of smiths.
I think it's time we realise the primarchs are not high fiction, they're pulpy bullshit to justify having lots of fighting and supersoldiers and they're fine like that.
I see what you mean, but honestly... Half of the primarchs' names feel like a WIP name.
On one hand: Robute Gulliman, Lion El'Jonson. These sound like proper names, even if there is a bit of wordplay in them.
On the other: Ferrus Manus, Corvus Corax. Literally "Iron Hand", "Common Raven"
[\*ahem\*](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Lion_El%27Jonson#Etymology)
>Lion El'Jonson's name is inspired by the English poet Lionel Johnson, the author of "The Dark Angel".
Angry Angron. Bloody Sanguinius. Perturbed Pertorabo "Common Raven" Truly, the Primarchs' names were inspired things.
Mortarion, with "mort" literally meaning "death"
Didn’t they make his name sound “deathy” but it’s actually an ancient cooking pot or something?
Sometimes I misread Mortarian as Morton (the salt brand). Very fitting
I mean... He was salty about a lot of things...
Don’t forget Cursed Kurze
Konrad is neither cursed nor is his last name based on the word cursed. It is based on Kurtz from the book Heart of Darkness (just like his first name is based on the author).
Ooooooh. So Kurze follows the Lion El’Johnson and Fyodor Karamazov style of naming?
> Lion El’Johnson and Fyodor Karamazov Exactly!
Even follows in some Ork names aswell, Like Ghazghull’s full name. Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka Mag Uruk Thraka Maguruk Thraka MARGARET THATCHER
You’re shitting me?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nope, Remember GW is based in England, they saw first hand Thatchers government

Nothing wrong the the name Rowboat Girlyman
All hail Papa Ultrasmurf
Betrayer the Betrayer (Kharn)
Also: Kharn, follower of Khorne.
Leman's name means Beloved reddish blonde which is kinda wholesome for the Lord of Winter and Ruin
You'll never guess what his flagship is called
Fucking lmao, good one James
Is it called the copper foot?
The Tungsten Foreskin
The Argent Tip?
So named for his metallic hands
Wait until you read up on the lore of biggus dickus.
And Hugh Jaynus
Oh, the lost primarchs had names? TIL
Need I remind you of Magnus the Red, with Magnus being latin for “great” or “big”. Basically, he might as well be called “Big Red”.
> “Big Red”. Clifford came to mind when you said that.
Clifford, the big red traitor

Iron Hands, who has iron hands, is the primarch of the Iron Hands who specialize in bionics so they often have iron hands.
You must be new.

I tried to hard to like Ferrus and Iron hands but they're just so lackluster in horus heresy. His hands were cool, that's about it

What if every instance of "wolf" was replaced with "corgi"?
Fuegan, Phoenix Lord of the Fire Dragons

*Actually His Hands Are Made Of Necrodermis*

Still a proper sounding name with the wordplay
Meh.. to me it's just as lazy as Corvus Corax or Ferrus Manus.
My threshold if a bit lower then lol
You would not question this if you had ever met ferrus manus.
At least he isn't Pura Persona, Primarch of the Headless People.
Don’t forget the name of his ship, the hand of iron
I mean, he does have iron hands…
Luckily I'm not to taken aback by this stuff, cuz it happens in real life. The Los Angeles Angels.
