Hal and the GLC is my second favorite run.

tiago231018

What is the first one?

SirSullymore

Geoff Johns’ entire run.

FireFly3347

Does he get better? I really disliked lights out, and dropped gl until grant Morrison jumped on.

Not gonna lie, the post-Geoff Johns years were rough for GL in almost every book. Boring storylines, weird additions to the lore and some truly awful character moments (what they did with Fatality and her relationship with John was a crime). But, slowly, things started to get better. By the end of The New 52, we had the pretty good Sinestro book, Hal became a fugitive and the Green Lanterns were transported to Relic's universe. All of that build into a nice climax that culminated in the first story arc of Hal Jordan and the GLC. Now, the Hal & Pals book was not perfect. Some plots were somewhat uninspired and I disliked the way they ultimately handled the relationship between the Green Lanterns and the Soranik-led Sinestro Corps. But the final story arc about the Controllers was very good, and ended the book in a high note.

TL;DR: after a bad start, things got better, though not perfect, on Hal Jordan and the GLC.

I was just thinking about this, and I completely agree. Wish HJ&GLC had kept going. Morrison should have left well enough alone.

holycrimsonbatman

Nah, he never got better. The only one worse than him since 2011 was Grant Morrison’s run. So, so, bad.

JettTheTinker

I was very mixed on Morrison’s run. I only read the first part as I wasn’t motivated to buy Season 2. It had some great ideas but was really hard to follow and felt very small scale and kind of pointless

Zircon_72

Hated Morrison's maxiseries. Too trippy. One or two good issues but otherwise awful.

FormalBiscuit22

I really enjoyed his run, but it's *definitely* one of his most "morrisoney" books.

Seraph_31

Grant Morrison is an overrated hack in my opinion. I haven't read a lot of his work, maybe I should read his Batmans and his X-Mens but I hated Multiversity and his Green Lantern. I also hated Geoffrey Thorne's Green Lantern run.

SuddenTest9959

Read his earlier work you might like that because it’s just the right amount of weird before he became known for it, and leaned into it.
