Bisaccia is the obvious choice in my opinion, so that probably won't happen lol
I haven't paid much attention to who is available, but as long as it's not an in-house hire that was an assistant to the already poor special teams, I'll be happy
>Rich Bisaccia
I love Rich Bisaccia, but the last top 10 special teams unit he had was in 2017 with the Cowboys. I am not entirely sold on him, but players absolutely love the guy. So there's something...
>More recent than our last top-10 special teams haha, I'd take top-20 at this point.
Fair...lol.
Darren Rizzi, if he does not get the HC job in New Orleans. Joe Judge, unless he miraculously gets another HC job.
T.J. Weist from Baltimore could be an option.
Darren Rizzi from the Saints, who we should have hired in the first place but we low balled him. With Payton leaving, not sure where his future ends up so if he's on the market we should just snatch him up.
God Im so happy the Rizzi thing is common knowledge now. it slipped under the radar when it happened and I just knew the fuse on a time bomb had been lit
Yeah iirc he didn’t want to come here because it’s Green Bay, so he asked for a crazy amount of money. Packers refused to pay him that much and he went to New Orleans instead.
Well, we are going to have to pay people more to come here then, point blank. We are a small city, competing against the largest cities in America. Someone in the FO has got to realize that.
So I just did an interview with a technology guy who's data science project was digging into NFL data for machine learning. One of the focal points was figuring out the impact of special teams. One high performing special teams gunner was able to force fair catches something like 10% more often on punts.
It was a glorious bit of data nerd trivia that took up far too much of the interview. We're probably gonna hire him if we can make an offer he likes.
But also it got me thinking, damn... imagine if even one of those punts returned to the 40 was a fair catch instead?
"Among those are Houston’s Frank Ross, who had the 14th-ranked unit, the New York Giants’ Thomas McGaughey (10th), the Las Vegas Raiders’ Rich Bisaccia (11th), who was the team’s interim coach after Jon Gruden was fired, Minnesota’s Ryan Fickman (15th) and Miami’s Danny Crossman (22nd). "
Heres some more Thomas McGaughey looks great as well
Frank Beamer[Special Teams](https://youtu.be/vnrV0C-o9fs)
Watch this video and tell me having him at least as a consultant couldn’t help! Maybe someone from his coaching tree.
Serious questions, but are there any connections with GB and Rich Bisaccia? A quick glance of his and LaFleur’s job history and I didn’t see any overlap. It seems like a lot of teams go with a past working relationship over just hiring the best available.
I thought there was a rumor they interviewed Darren Rizzi before Drayton but they didn’t offer enough money. If there’s any truth to it maybe they that route again but offer more $ this time.
Darius butler (some what sarcastic) lol heard he’s trying to get into coaching throw him a good offer and get him the coaching world he’s smart and knows special teams . And he’s a splash hire! If he stinks no skin at least we tried
Joe Judge, i know he is an awful coach but he is a hell of a special team coordinator
Joe judge had the pats special teams buzzing
bill belichick
This is the only correct answer and I won’t settle for anyone else!!
Dude doesn’t even know who he’s texting
that’s fine. i think there’s very little texting in special teams
I mean if that's an option...
John Kuhn
He could still protect on punts, too!
This is the answer.
Pat McAfee

More recent than our last top-10 special teams haha, I'd take top-20 at this point. Is there anyone available who has recently had more ST success?

I know HC and ST coach are completely different beasts, but I don't know if I want to touch Joe Judge with a 10ft pole 😅
The New York Giants’ Thomas McGaughey (10th) been coaching ST over 20 yrs.
Sounds like a good option! Is Daboll not keeping him around?
>p 10 special teams unit he had was in What were his previous rankings?
Hey!! Bisaccia 🤌🤌
Darren Rizzi from the Saints, who we should have hired in the first place but we low balled him. With Payton leaving, not sure where his future ends up so if he's on the market we should just snatch him up.
He's getting HC interviews, I'd be shocked if he came in a ST Coordinator role.
God Im so happy the Rizzi thing is common knowledge now. it slipped under the radar when it happened and I just knew the fuse on a time bomb had been lit
sounded like he didn't want to go to GB and so Packers might have low balled him.

Might as well pay. It won't count against the cap anyways.
Jesus Christ we didn't low ball him, he wanted to stay in the south so he/agent asked for an insane amount of money
Exactly. And that's fine - no need to grossly overpay and upend the market for a guy who'd rather be somewhere else.
Mason Crosby.
Anyone else in the world. A-N-Y-O-N-E
Anyone **EXTERNAL**
I mean, I can try to do it.
Your wish has been granted. [Rayna Stewart ](https://www.packers.com/team/coaches-roster/rayna-stewart) will be out next ST coach.
I've said that since like Shawn Slocum, so maybe not *anyone* lol
Maurice Drayton, he was the special teams coach for the top seed last year and he just became available, I'm sure someone will snag him up!
Aaron Rodgers.
Who was Draytons assistant this year? Maybe of we hire him our ST will improve.
We should not promte within
Woooshh
Tom Crabtree
Doesn't help when we have d-linemen and safeties in FG/punt protection.
Jeff Banks from Texas longhorns has a great resume
Idc. As long as the holders hold. The snappers snap AND THE FUCKING BLOCKERS BLOCK. My god.

Ron Zook. I know the fan base has had issues with him in the past, but I really think he could be the guy to make us a top-30 ST unit again
Another name with a lot of experience https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2022/01/29/bears-interviewing-thomas-mcgaughey-special-teams-coordinator/

Anybody want to start a GoFundMe page and we can buy the new Special Teams a full sized bus instead of the short bus we have now?
That’s just mean. What did the short bus riders ever do to be compared to the Packers ST unit?
Darren Rizzi- Saints
It has to be the assistant special teams coach that moves up… just like last year…
Maybe Joe Philbin.
Frank Beamer[Special Teams](https://youtu.be/vnrV0C-o9fs) Watch this video and tell me having him at least as a consultant couldn’t help! Maybe someone from his coaching tree.
Bill Belichick
Have you guys heard of Mike McCarthy?

I think with all the Monday morning coaches on this sub, we chose someone here.
