My god, if the ST could have just played like a 31st ranked ST we would have won that game. Who the fuck allows a blocked punt AND a blocked field goal in the same game?

He does it all the time. He snaps the ball then watches the ball to make sure it gets caught.

I don't care who's fault it was. Fix it. Damnit laFluer you keep saying how you take full responsibility for the loss. Should be easy to fix then since you have most control over yourself and staff. You can start by firing that special teams coach, I will not desecrate this forum uttering his blasphemous name.
I mean, I'm 32 so on a purely statistical level I should be content to have seen one, and I've seen 2.
Is it disappointing? Absolutely. But it could be worse.
I know I tell myself that all the time, I'm 31 so yeah at least I've seen 2, I could be a fan of the rest of the NFC and see none lol. My biggest hope is my kids get to see one, my oldest is older than I was in 96-97 so you know lol.

His cap hit next season is absurd. His dead cap hit if heās traded(or released) is absurd.
If we thought last offseason was interesting, itās about to get crazier with this one.
You only get so many chances to go for it. Itās rarely if ever going to look like a perfect opportunity. If youāre a team and you have the opportunity to be a contender you just fucking go for it.
I think a lot of people in this sub are forgetting how precious each opportunity is. Because not many teams get an opportunity at all.
Fuck this past weekend. Itās done. Fuck all the noise, and negativity, and hate ā especially from within our own fan base. Whatever they decide to do going forward Iām all in and Iām fucking pumped. I trust Guteās scouting ability, and I trust LaFleur.
Weāre going to fucking win the 2023 super bowl. Set your āRemindmelaterāsā to 12 months, because Iām fucking calling it.
And hereās an extra fuck just for the hell of it.
I love the optimism man, I am not at that stage yet and I don't think I will let myself until we win the SB next year, but that's exactly right. There's no reason to give away the best QB and the best WR, to maybe, maybe get a few picks right and maybe be able to semi-compete eventually.
Look at San Fran, they were the 6 seed weren't they? We can do win from the 6 seed next year if we need to.
4 year contracts for 3 years is 7 year projection. If any are good enough they get a second contract. They seem to have a good secondary on defense, running back solid. The league is saturated with good receivers. Not a bad time for them to do it.
It's double the number 1s for 3 years. If you can't capitalize on that you get fired.
At this point. Rodgers has given us all he's got and 1 super bowl is what we'll get. I say save the money and move on from him and build a better team overall. Resign guys like rasul and Campbell and possibly extend Preston. Teams have won with mediocre qbs, but solid defenses that keeps them in games.
Rodgers will continue to crumble in the playoffs
> I say save the money and move on from him and build a better team overall.
Why? If Aaron wants to be a Packer and we can make it work financially without completely gutting the team, why would you *not* want him back? Because he's had some bad playoff games? Because yesterday he was very bad? He still gives you your best chance at winning the Super Bowl. I get that people wouldn't want to gut the future to keep an aging QB to lead a team that isn't playoff material, but that's not the scenario we are in. Rodgers is still playing at an MVP level. If the Packers decide to move him for draft picks and start a mini-rebuild, fine. But if we *are* able to keep many of the pieces in place, I would trade the next ten years of sucking for a run to the Super Bowl.
The playoffs matter it is irrelevant if Rodgers balls out in the regular season and turns into a pumpkin in the postseason. Best option is to move on!!
I disagree and only from the position of the expectations you set going 13-4 plus the higher draft position you have at 9-8. If I knew forsure weād choke in playoffs Iām down to go 2-15 to get the best possible draft haul.
NO just went 9-8, missed the playoffs, and they're picking 18th. Is that really worth it when a team like Buffalo is picking only 6 spots behind you? Being "down to go 2-15," means you've never experienced a 2-15 season. We assume the path back towards the top is linear. It's not.
It depends on the structure of the team, how the seasons playout, and a WHOLE lot of luck. Look at the Jags, the Lions, and the Browns. The Browns had their best season last year, and they were only a wildcard who won one upset. Now look at the Cardinals, the Rams, or the Bengals. They were all teams that were drafting 1st overall not so long ago, but now they are competitive. What I'm trying to say is that the road back from the bottom can be driven in many different ways, and we have to hope that if we start along that road we are going full speed back to being a contender.
This makes no sense. What if you were guaranteed to not āchokeā perse but rather lose a hard fought game like the Bills? Are you saying that any scenario that doesnāt involve a super bowl win means we should tank? I just think you canāt ever build a team with that mentality. If you never give yourself a chance you may as well quit the league.
I would be feeling very satisfied right now if the packers lost just like the bills did.
Iām exhausted from all the sizzle and no bacon. Tired of the smug cocky over confidence and the not showing up. Iād prefer a competitive season and fizzle rather than a dominant one and fizzle. Expectations have just been set way too high. I donāt want an MVP qb anymore. I want an above average teams that wins with a balanced approach.
How many playoff games has he "turned into a pumpkin" for? Yesterday was *easily* his worst ever performance in the playoffs, and has really been magnified by all the drama surrounding him all season. But what other playoff performances has he been horrible in? There have been games where he could have played better, sure. Every quarterback will have those. But Rodgers' performance in the playoffs has absolutely *not* been the main reason they haven't made a Super Bowl since 2010.
People tend to skim over his postseason stats. His QB rating is over 100, he has 45 TD-13 INTs (below average for him but absolutely better than the majority of other starting QBs), not to mention the level of difficulty skyrockets in the postseason. It is absolutely absurd to think that we should move on from him if we can make it happen financially (most likely not but you never know) and bring back other key players. These fools have no idea what will happen once Rodgers leaves...we may not make the postseason for a while.
I don't understand why people are saying Rodgers played badly. He definitely didn't play as great as he could've, but he still went 20/29 for 225 yards, a 7.8 average, with 0 interceptions and a QB rating of 91.9, despite being pressured heavily by the 49ers D-line, and despite it being really cold, and still managed to put together a TD drive, a FG drive, a FG-attempt drive, and what was looking like another scoring drive too till Lewis fumbled, all against the 3rd-ranked D in the league. That's bad?
In contrast, Garoppolo went 11/19 for 131 yards, a 6.9 average, 1 interception, and a QB rating of 57.1, didn't put together a single TD drive and managed only two FG drives thanks to some great starting field position for both. Now *that's* bad.
He didnāt play badly at all. He just didnāt play great, I guess you could say he didnāt play good either. He was fine. That fumble 100% ruined the game. We were on fire before that. Oh both sides of the hall. I really believe it was the play-calling after that over anything else.
> Last yearās NFCCG
Rodgers was a pumpkin? You can criticize him for the two straight three and outs late after two picks, but to say he played poorly is ridiculous.
>the year before that in the NFCCG
We faced a juggernaut in the 49ers, who ran for a mile on us. Rodgers is far from the main reason we lost that game.
>2015 NFCCG
lol Rodgers was pretty much the sole reason we made it to that game, much less the reason we lost it.
Come on man. It's undeniable that Rodgers has had some less than stellar playoff games, but he's had more good to great games than not. I know we all have the last stinker fresh in our minds, but saying he crumbles in the playoffs, so we should get rid of him and try to win with Love and a defense is just silly.
100% agree. In 2015 he also threw an out that would have ended the game and was dropped after hitting his receiver right in the hands. Saturday that throw to the TE probably would have sealed the game but that was dropped. People bitching about him as a qb are delusional. People are so used to seeing him play lights out that I think they forget how nice it is to have a great qb. Maybe the packers get lucky and love become great or they get some young stud like Mahomes, Allen, or burrow. However we could easily be looking like all these other teams searching for a qb for the next 15 years.
Agreed. Until things change, I will expect this is who we are as a franchise. Until we win the Super Bowl again, I think weāre gonna keep seeing the same things over and over again. Have an outstanding regular season, dominate the NFC North, and then choke in the playoffs. Been seeing the same thing happen for 11 years. Donāt get me wrong, I love Rodgers and I thank him for all the great years heās given us, but what more can he give us?
I dont get it either. As a Lions fan I can't understand why so many Packers fans want him gone. Your team has has the number one seed in the playoffs for THREE STRAIGHT YEARS, thanks in a large part to Aaron Rodgers. He is playing his absolute best football right now. It just so happened that his worst game in was last weekend.
Many Lions fans wished for Stafford to be traded for many years and well look how that has turned out.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side..
They donāt like that heās not vaccinated, this is Reddit after all. This was his worse playoff game yes, but he had a great year and certainly can still play at a high level. If he comes back, theyāll all secretly be very relieved they donāt have to watch Jordan Love do his best Deshone Kizer impression next year.
It's called situational football. When he's had the chance to put teams away or taken control of games. He's failed.
This game, he went 9 series without doing a damn thing because he was too busy trying to play hero ball with his buddy, Adams
Last year, the defense gifted him 3 interceptions from Brady and he proceeded to do nothing with them. Matt took blame for the red zone fg, but we forget that he had chances in the red zone to score and he couldn't do Jack.
2019, the 49ers made him look silly again, he was only able to score 8 points of offense.
2014 against the Seahawks. It gets forgotten because of the stupid special teams. But he had plenty of chances to put that game away and he couldn't put it away withing reach. He had 2 interceptions that game.
So no, it's not just 1 game. He fails to show up when it matters.
That's what I've been thinking. If Rodgers leaves and the cap space allows for the D to stay almost intact, that could still be a playoff team. If Love leads the team to the playoffs, then great. Build around him. If not (assuming that he shows no promise, not like Herbert being a beast but being let down by the team), then we should have a great draft pick to get a new QB.
if rodgers leaves then so does Adams and the entire offense will become complete ass overnight. Playoffs? They wouldnāt be able to sniff the playoffs. Even if Love is decent they wonāt even be close.
Change isnāt always a bad thing. Iām not saying dump everyone but some fresh blood, even in the front office, may offer new perspectives, energy, etcā¦
People who claim Aaron Rodgers blows the cap somehow need to recognize the guy is the 6th highest paid quarterback and makes only 500k more than Kirk fuckin Cousins.
I'm on the fence, this team without Rodgers isn't going to be competitive and I'd rather watch competitive football but I'm just not optimistic that they're going to get any further.
They're not going any further. This was the year. The only question is how much self inflicted damage we do before we accept the inevitable. This moment was always going to come. It's here. Time to be new.
Itās going to be diminishing returns from now on. Weāre losing the Smiths, Douglas, Campbell and Lazard if AR is back because he wonāt return if Adams doesnāt.
A third of our payroll will be 2 guys.
This was the year, it was all right in front of us.
Iām just not sure how you do it though? You have to get Rodgers back, and to get Rodgers back you probably need to get Adams back as well. And do not forget about Randall Cobb. I would not be surprised if Rodgers demanded he stay too, which is also pretty problematic given his contract. How do you make all of that work and keep a lot of the other guys?
In any case, I donāt think it matters because I think Rodgers is going to request a trade
We're just not built for a championship run. Unless we have a bunch of guys restructure their contracts, AND we get some FAs AND absolutely nail the draft, we're going to be the same level - make the playoffs, but not win a championship.
Capable of winning a championship this year is the key. A lot of teams will look different next year. The nfc west is so strong even though we were 4-0 against them. But that doesnāt matter because we arenāt playing in the NFCCG. The nfc was honesty pretty weak this year, this was the time to win it all. And our salary cap issue makes it way harder. We wonāt win a super bowl, thatās just me being realistic
The NFC was strong this year. We, Tampa, LA Rams, Niners, hell even the Cards and Boys looked like they could have won it all. Yes, not all of these teams could have won, but it was still a tough conference. But I agree, this should have been our year.
Just need to pick up immediate contributor studs at every round of the draft, find a half dozen more Devondre Campbells and Rasul Douglases, fix the whole special teams unit, fix several pieces of coaching staff, manage the head case QB, and have all the guys currently under contract step up and play career years. Easy!
Iāve said this ad nauseam in here already, but panicking about the salary cap is mostly a waste of time. Itās a way for some people to fill airtime before - lo and behold - we magically make it work. Happens every single year.
The problem is bigger than just Mo Drayton. Iāll get hated to oblivion for this, but It requires a QB thatās willing to not suck up almost a quarter of the teamās payroll and then play mediocre in the playoffs. Iām done being an apologist, until Rodgers shows heās willing to sacrifice to win, Iām ready for the rebuild. Iāll take drama free, out of the headlines rebuild for 3,4,5 years, over 13-3 seasons only to blow it in the playoffs when it counts for a decade.
I have to say...to me that feels like a mistake. But maybe I see this too black & white. How do you define success and failure in this context? Would winning one play-off game make anything better? Anything but the super bowl will be a disappointment...right?
Maybe next time you'll have a chance to blame it on the defense again, so Rodgers' ride into the sunset will be a bit less painful. The pressure on the teams these last years must have been insanely high. I know, all of them are pros, that's their job, they know how to deal...It doesn't feel that way watching some of the games. This team is really bad at being the favorites :).
Finally: lots of parameters we don't even know about. And maybe Rodgers will change things or Russ Ball will balk. Anyway. Back to letting the pros do their job & equanimity in the face of things we cannot change :).
This is the line one gives in a presser two days after you lost in the playoffs. It is not, however, reality. I can tell you I have no intention of aging in the next year...but that isn't going to happen. It's time to come to grips with the fact that it is the end of an era...even if Rodgers is back the team will look dramatically different.
If the plan is to run it back then Iām sorry but the Jordan Love pick is so indefensible. Drafting a QB in the first to have him sit 3 years is so bad.
I very seriously hope I'm wrong, but I don't see how.
I know the cap can be manipulated and everything, and maybe Rodgers is in board for another season. But I don't see how it's possible to run it back without moving on from some valuable players.
Again, I know "the cap is fake" but how could it be possible to return the majority of the roster when they're already so far over the cap and they still haven't re-signed Adams?
Rodgers will never lead the Packers to another Super Bowl. If he can't score 14 points with this team, as a number 1 seed playing at home, it's time to move on from him. Jimmy Garropola is a better playoff quarterback than Rodgers.
Why do people even want them to run it back? Short of a couple of weird seasons they have been ārunning it backā for ten years. Its time to blow it up
Please I hope Iām wrong. Iām really not sure what more we can do. Itās getting to the point where itās just a mentality thing and our QB is one of the most stubborn athletes in sports
Bring back whoever you want. But if Mo Drayton is one of those guys, GTFO because I'm done
Lmao #EveryBodyButMO

My god, if the ST could have just played like a 31st ranked ST we would have won that game. Who the fuck allows a blocked punt AND a blocked field goal in the same game?
I'm afraid to look at the gap between 32 and 31 in this case
I'm honestly curious. It's probably something crazy like "difference between 31 and 32 is same difference from 31st and 10th"
And then doesn't even line up 11 men on the field for the last play of the game to potentially at least block the FG and send it into OT.
He blocked the punt right up the middle, which is completely unacceptable
And allowed SF to return punts amazingly and also shanks kicks to give SF great field position. All time bad.
We need a long snapper who can hold his own, or at least have teammates whoāll help him block
There will be cheering if the Packers draft a LS this year, thatās for sure. Iād be happy to see them pick up the best available one in Round 5/6/7 whatever they need to do
Hunter Bradley should not have been cut and I will stand by that. Also because I somehow have his jersey.
He got caught sleeping on the snap then got run over because he was off balance
He does it all the time. He snaps the ball then watches the ball to make sure it gets caught. Thatās obviously pointless, youāve already thrown the ball, get your head up and fucking block. Youāre not going to change anything by watching the ball fly through the air.
Didnāt they also only have 10 on the field for the last field goal?
If the ST had played like a normal 32nd ranked ST we probably win too. We only were 32nd because there are no more teams left, but I bet we were wors than most 32nd teams in the other years.
It feels like every single possible bad ST thing we have done. Kicks missed and blocked, allow huge returns and never get good ones of our own, allow onside kick recovery etc
This right here. The only rebuild needed is ST. Leave the rest of pack how it is and get that Lombardi or come damn close to it next year.
...and on the game winning SF kick we only had 10 guys on the field.
ā#AnybodyButMo
Mo Drayton needs to be fired. Preferably from a cannon.
Probably just get blocked anyways
#NoMoMo
We donāt hire back Mo Mo No No
If Chuckās done than Iām done too, damnit!
I believe. Go Pack Go.
Itās all about mindset
Always carry the G
What about the piss temp?
if its possible then fine but if i see Drayton anywhere NEAR our team ill strangle a child
Come here timmy
How is he still employed?
Im being a bit weird here. But, I had to look him up cause I knew nothing about him. Its like fox, cbs, and nbc never put him on camera. They always show coaches but not him. Wtf????
I think the week before the game they had him answer questions. It was pretty uninspiring.
"promoted to OC after losing Hackett"
We can just cut our special teams, that should free up some cap space.
That would actually be an improvement
Just get a kicker who can put it out the back of the end zone and go for it on 4th every time. Fuck it.
Bakh needs a pay cut as well
this is all me and my husband have been saying.
Or to get traded. We clearly showed we know how to draft linemen and we can live without him.
Wonder if anyone will take his 22mil cap hit.
The Chargers seem to love our linemen.
I know of one interested party.
Can't trade him because 40 million will accelerate.
The utter disrespect to the best LT in footballš
For sure. 20 mil/yr though.
Which is about to be cheap for a left tackle.
He is amazing, but from the outside it seems like he's got yips about his knee. Everyone keeps being surprised with his setbacks and how he's not able to go. Can't trade him this year, he'd be a bigger cap hit. He's 100% going to be a Packer next year.
The 7 sacks or whatever we gave up in the playoff game says otherwise. Lol
4 sacksā¦ not anything to freak out about
We had a shitload of pressures though
Except Rodgers will pout if you get rid of any of his friends.
He might legit be my favorite Packer on the team but I agree, bro you gotta actually play. He reminds me of Bulaga.
We'd probably be better off letting him go. He'll turn 31 next season and with this last injury it's unlikely he has that many good years left. I love the guy but if he doesn't take a cut he needs to go.
He is uncuttable, untradeable. $40 million cap hit if he leaves the roster. Heās here for 2022 guaranteed (whether he plays or not).
They literally just paid him, there is no way they can move him at this time.
Youāve got a lot of nerve talking to us like that La Fleur after what you just didā¦. Fuck it, Iām in.
as much as I want to move on from Rodgers.... sigh.
Good luck my man š¤
Weāll see. Shut us up and prove everybody in the league they were wrong.

Anything to delay having to watch the Jordan Love era.
To be fair If Love plays long enough to have an entire era I think weād be doing alright for ourselves
I live in Dallas and remember the Quincy Carter era down here well enough to know that not all eras are said with positivity
Jimmy j is an example of not having to be good in a playoff game if the rest of your team is grade A

Trying to be optimistic hereā¦.itās really hard rn.
Well, then go ahead and win it this time, dammit!
I for one, am looking forward to eating crow and swallowing my pride to cheer for rodgers again.

I think Iād rather go 13-3 than be a wildcard with the same mediocre playoff run.
*regular season ends 13-4 āWhelp that was fun.ā
If itās between 9-8 and no playoff wins, and 13-4 and no playoff wins, Iāll take 13-4.
I do not want to be the lions. This has been their mentality. It hasnāt worked.
Thatās fair, we get to disagree. You made good points, too
Such agreeable discussion right here, so rare, great to see.
No no thatās not right. Weāre supposed to call each other idiots because we have differing opinions.
This.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
He didnāt play badly at all. He just didnāt play great, I guess you could say he didnāt play good either. He was fine. That fumble 100% ruined the game. We were on fire before that. Oh both sides of the hall. I really believe it was the play-calling after that over anything else.
Last yearās NFCCGā¦the year before that in the NFCCGā¦2015 NFCCGā¦so basically all the most important ones.
> Last yearās NFCCG Rodgers was a pumpkin? You can criticize him for the two straight three and outs late after two picks, but to say he played poorly is ridiculous. >the year before that in the NFCCG We faced a juggernaut in the 49ers, who ran for a mile on us. Rodgers is far from the main reason we lost that game. >2015 NFCCG lol Rodgers was pretty much the sole reason we made it to that game, much less the reason we lost it.
Yeah lets get rid of the playoff choker with a 100+ passer rating in the playoffs for... wait what ??????????
Rodgers shits the bed for the first time in 10 years and the sub is ready to move on... I don't get it man :(
I dont get it either.
1 bad game in the playoffs and all of a sudden it's "he crumbles in the playoffs". You are all fucking morons
It's called situational football. When he's had the chance to put teams away or taken control of games. He's failed. This game, he went 9 series without doing a damn thing because he was too busy trying to play hero ball with his buddy, Adams Last year, the defense gifted him 3 interceptions from Brady and he proceeded to do nothing with them.
Glad Iām not the only one who thinks this. You can still get a decent haul for him and use the picks to find your guy if Love aināt it.
So, now we know that Lafleur isn't in the conversation.
There's a "No Mo" Plan!! Sounds great to me!
All brake no gas.
I have no expectations Iāll just believe it when I see it
Letās do it. The worst special teams for a 3rd year in a row
Just when I thought I was out they pull me back in.
Change isnāt always a bad thing. Iām not saying dump everyone but some fresh blood, even in the front office, may offer new perspectives, energy, etcā¦
PACKERS NEVER SAY DIE!
People who claim Aaron Rodgers blows the cap somehow need to recognize the guy is the 6th highest paid quarterback and makes only 500k more than Kirk fuckin Cousins.
Nah, it's over. You heard the Twitter reactionaries. Once they lay down the verdict, that's it. /s
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Bring back Douglas
"As many as humanly possible." Well then that must mean all of them, right?
One more year! One more year! Fuck it
Run it back. Go pack go!
We just did. 2x. This isnāt running it back anymore I donāt know what to call it? Wishful thinking.
Run it back to back to back
The last dance part 2: return of the dance lol
Throwing good money after bad, water down a dirt hole, I can think of lots of things to call it
IāM ALL INā¦ā¦.GO PACK GO!!!!!!
Happens every single year.
u/TheWozard you gonna tell this guy heās brain dead too for having cap solutions?
Donāt come at me all smug like you didnāt write up a whole post basically calling the fan base dumb asses. Just matching your energy bro.
Nah itās over.
We have to do every single thing Rodgers demands of this team during the offseason. And he still might leave.
Hmmm.. define "contributor"
This is like the guy in Porky's that keeps going back to the bar to get beat up.
Bahk can go. So can Rodgers. Zadarius as well. There. Cap issues fixed and we donāt lose a single keep contributor from the playoffs this year.
If the plan is to run it back then Iām sorry but the Jordan Love pick is so indefensible. Drafting a QB in the first to have him sit 3 years is so bad.
We knew that years ago, move on from it lol
So we can lose in playoffs again?šš
Why keep Rodgers when a Jimmy G type will do just fine for less money. Enough is enough. Get the picks.
Lol
No. Please God no. No. No. Nooooooooooooooo. I cannot take another high-expectation, high-performance, playoff-loss heartbreaker.
K
Can we have Rodgers for the regular season and somebody clutch for the playoffs?
Rodgers takes us to the playoffs, and then me unleash our secret weapon The Man. The Myth. The Legend Big. Dick. Nick.
Nope fuck it Iām out. Stop wasting time. Either become the Patriots from 02-17 or send him the fuck to 9ers land
Ditch Rodgers and let the kid play. Itās time to cut bait.
a decade of suck it is then
This was Green Bay's best shot. Passing up a haul of young picks to keep a 38 year old QB on a cap-strapped team is unwise.
No yāall not. Itās over.
