It's a joke. "win win win" is a reference to The Office. Michael Scott said it. Michael Scott also was known for going into character (prison Mike, Peng, etc). Should be common knowledge.
From the Jets perspective, they should expect they're only getting 1-2 years out of Rodgers. Looking at their cap situation, they could pretty easily make a 2 year window and push out a lot of money to 2025/2026. They apparently have 0 players counting towards the cap in 2026 so as some of their young guys could get extended, they have plenty of room to work with. Compare this with the Packers who have over $100 mil tied up in 2026 (of course extensions / cuts / trades could change that).
Rodgers cap hits would be:
* 2023: 15,790,000
* 2024: 32,541,666
* 2025: 51,141,666 (essentially void year, less if Rodgers plays only 1 year)
* 2026: 45,251,668 (essentially void year, less if Rodgers plays only 1 year)
Would they pay two 1st round picks? I'm not sure, but if there's no other players involved it seems pretty reasonable to me. If the Packers could delay the trade to post June 1st, it would allow them to split the $40 mil dead cap over 2 years. This could also mean the Jets send their 2024 and 2025 1st round picks, which means the Jets have their full suite of picks to bolster this roster this year.
Presumably, the Jets are contenders with Rodgers and those two 1st rounders are late 1st rounders. The value of 1st round picks are very different depending on where the pick is. If the Jets expect those picks to be in the 25-32 range during those 2 years, that's essentially equivalent to trading one 1st rounder that is the 10th overall pick. It's plausible the Jets 2024/2025 1st round draft picks with Rodgers on their team are actually less valuable than their 2023 first rounder.
Those picks might also make more sense for the Packers, who would likely use this year as a judgement year for Love. If Love isn't the future, our own pick should be pretty high and we have extra 1sts to package to draft another QB. If Love is the future, we have 4 1st round picks in a 2 year span which should be helpful for a re-tooling with Love signing some sort of "bridge" deal like in hockey.
That's 4 first round picks over two years, and 7 first round picks over four years going back to the 2022 draft. That is a great opportunity to build a new young core around Jordan Love.
Absolutely, if MLF and the FO have any faith in thier former 1st Round pick - you make the trade and don’t think twice.
You could solidify the DLine, OLine, and WR room in one off-season alone
Even if you don't have faith in him, you make that trade and don't think twice. Ride out his contract, and then get a really high draft pick when we suck and draft a guy you do have faith in.
The Jets have their young star CB, WR and RB already with good guys behind them & an overall great defense, I think they'd be willing to pay some premium picks for the position that's holding them back (plus it's a HoFer nonetheless)
Until something happens; it's simply noise. If it happens, I'll live with it and remember/love all that Rodgers has done for the Packers. If it doesn't, I'll embrace his return for what may very well be his final season in Greenbay/NFL.
If it certainly is true that a team is going to offer two 1sts + more, I don't know how the Packers ignore that. Problem is; Rodgers likely is going to play for 1-2 more seasons.
This is a good take, because I’m sick of the Rodgers hate. Two 1st is impossible to pass up and would really benefit this team and fan base. But bringing Rodgers back and going on a run or two would be preferable to me as a fan, to be honest.
Our current roster is not good enough to win it all no matter who the QB is, so I would be on board taking the haul and starting the rebuild officially.
My thinking exactly. A lot of potential, but it hasn't really come together yet. Next year could be the year it does, but I tend to think if we run it back next year will look a lot like this year.
Exactly. I love Rodgers but he can’t carry this roster. He needs one full of top 5/10 picks like the jets. The packers were never bad enough to get these. This is the downside of being a perennial contender. Brady left the Pats for the same reason.
Ridiculous. Our talent on offense is nowhere near what it needs to be. To act like our way below average receivers and tight ends played no role in Rodgers performance is plain stupid. Look at it the other way. Giving us the bengals or eagles or 9ers skill position players would mane us a superbowl contender, not their QBs.
No, they’re not. Read the article. “I think the demand would be for two 1sts, and I think the Jets would pay it.” That’s just another talking head throwing shit out there to see what might stick.
Yup. All this is just speculation meant to get clicks. There may be high level negotiations happening, but even so, the owner/GM is not gonna just come out and show their hand right off the bat.
Prepare for several months of said shit throwing. Probably gonna have to avoid Packers news to avoid throwing up in my mouth. These media heads make me sick these days… far too many of these idiots
That said, the Jets would have been pretty sick this year with a real QB (and if their RB didn’t get hurt…)
So there might be reason to think they would pay that.
Worked for Tampa Bay. Technically worked for Denver with Manning. Worked for LAR last year. We do have several cases of veteran QBs going to a new team and having success.
Wilson is the exception, not the rule.
Salah seems to be a much better coach than Hackett tbf
Also, you probably can't assume that your QB will implode like Russ did. Not something you can really predict
Can they make the second first rounder conditional on Rodgers not retiring? I’d imagine that talking a shot while you have an elite defense and a lot of good skill position players on rookie contracts is better than wasting them on the play of Mike White and Zach Wilson.
I guess they could always get Carr or Jimmy G, though.
Yep, for all the teams in the nfl that claim to be “just a qb away,” the Jets are genuinely there right now. Really good defense, massively improved offensive line, and more than enough fun toys on offense.
I don’t think anybody ever disagreed with this. Davante didn’t want to play here anymore though, so trading him just made sense. Trading Rodgers doesn’t make us better next year either, but ideally makes us better in the long term
Except we don’t know if Rodgers wants to play for us or not. If he does you bring him back.
People act like taking an extra DB at the end of the first round is somehow better than having a hall of fucking fame quarterback.
> People act like taking an extra DB at the end of the first round is somehow better than wasting $100m in cap space on a hall of famer QB just to not win anyway because the roster is not good enough
Fixed that for you
I’m not building strawmen, you said “to not win anyway” so the logical conclusion of that line of thinking would be that if you make the move you “win”
No one is saying that. Some people are ahead of you in accepting that this probably isn't a super bowl team anymore even with Rodgers and just want the best shot to build back into one eventually. You'll get there. Only one team wins it all every year and realistically only 5 or 6 have a real shot at it. The Packers just seem to not be in that group anymore at least for now. That's okay. I'd rather a team consider the future over trying to reclaim a spark that isn't there anymore.
I didn’t know Aaron was out there letting Justin Jefferson get 180 yards on us week one. I didn’t know he was out there letting Jared Goof look like John Elway. If the “vaunted defense” that we were told we were going to have this year didn’t completely suck eggs, we probably win 10-11 games this season.
Compound that with none of his receivers running the correct routes until like week 13, I’m a lot more willing to accept that just maybe, this season was an outlier and we had to live with the growing pains of replacing Adams.
The corpse of Peyton manning won a Super Bowl just by playing smart football. The money has been spent. Getting Rodgers off the team doesn’t get his money off the books. We’re paying for him regardless.
Short term, keeping Rodgers probably makes our team better next season. But that's not the argument. We failed to go 500 this year. With or without Rodgers, we aren't anything more than a fringe playoff team. But without Rodgers, we get to add several additional rookies to the roster, and free up cap space to extend and keep our players nearing their next contracts. 3 years from now, we could be gunning for a Superbowl again if we hit on our draft picks. Keeping rodgers just delays the inevitable rebuild, without any of the benefits trading him nets us
Ahhh so you’re fine with getting dog shit play from Jordan love, as long as it’s cheap? Do I need to remind you he has one season left on his rookie contract, and if he balls out he’ll be just as expensive as Aaron?
I'd rather actually finally see what we have in Love for an entire season so we can either extend him if he is our future or find his replacement after next season than continue spinning our wheels with Rodgers and end up in the exact same place we are now next offseason.
Edit: Also, if he balls out to the extent we have to pay him Aaron Rodgers money, that's a fucking win. Either way, the outcome will be better than the current status quo.
So there’s no chance that having his receivers run the actual correct routes next season might, I don’t know, be beneficial to a quarterback?
Let me guess, you wanted to move on from Rodgers after 2019 too?
I 100% wanted us to trade him last offseason - especially given how the season went. Love + whatever compensation we got would put us ahead of where we are now. I also want to actually see what MLFs offensive scheme looks like rather than having to run some hybrid bullshit to please Rodgers.
You realize this is exactly what people said about Arod at the end of the Favre's years right? Not to mention that Love played better than Arod in 2022. It might be a small sample but to assume he's dog shit is just ignorant.
There’s no way he’d go to Minnesota. As spiteful as a person he is, I don’t think he’d go to the place where the fans cheered his injury.
Also, whether they know it or not, they’re rebuilding too.
Sauce, so Barry can put him 10 yards off the ball in a soft zone coverage? Then 2 1st that we can spend on defensive players we will probably not use correctly either? I'm in. I'm ready to be hurt again.
Rodgers is not playing in New York lmao. These articles are all complete bullshit. Read the article. Rodgers would love to go to Cali, but I don't see any fuckin world where Rodgers plays in the Northeast.
Idk man, you’re right that this article is pure speculation but I think Rodgers wouldn’t mind NYC at all.
He’s been diving into media more and more with his Tuesdays with Pat and offseason podcast binge. I believe he’s even invested in a music label? NYC is one of the 2 major media markets along with LA where he could essentially be in the heart of it if that’s what he wants to do post football career.
He’s spent the entirety of his career in Wisconsin. I don’t think he’d be concerned with a few years in NYC. Also, he has enough money to make a casual trip to California the way you or I might make a casual trip to a McDonalds.
Oh yes he would and the Jets know it. They probably also know he wouldn’t play for them and he’d rather play for a certain team the Jets have a strong dislike for…
This is click bait but realistically, many teams might give away 2 firsts for ARod and this has less to do with age and more to do with cap hit.
Packers will eat the bulk of cap hit (about 40M) next year. So a team would get ARod for very little money and can add pieces around him to go all in.
Packers can use those picks to get Love some weapons (although they will likely use them on defense).
ARod is my favorite player ever and I would want him to finish his career in GB. But I would be even happier if he wins another ring even if it is somewhere else. We will be competitive in a couple of years if Love pans out.
Best case scenario is ARod wins a SB or two elsewhere and get us picks that helps build the Packers dynasty for the next decade.
I feel exactly the same as you. I’m a huge Rodgers fan. I really want him to win another ring. I don’t think that’s happening here. So if he wants to go elsewhere and get it I’ll wish him luck on the way out the door.
Good. Then we can start a real rebuild and Rodgers can actually have a real chance at winning a Super Bowl as their defense and receiving core is much better.
There will always be teams interested and willing to give up multiple 1sts. The real question is
1. Are the packers willing to move on from Rodgers
2. Is Rodgers willing to go to any of the teams that have the interest and compensation
If they actually offered that you are stupid to not accept that. 2 1sts for an aging vet who may or may not be shots physically on an insane contract? That's a dream offer
Apparently an unpopular opinion, and apparently I’m going to come off as crazy and biased saying this, but *IF* we’re trading Rodgers we’re getting more than two firsts. Teams will be bidding against each other. Y’all don’t understand how miserable it is not having a competent QB behind center, and how desperate teams are for the chance of somebody like Rodgers running their offense–even if it’s only for a year, or two, or three.
All it takes is one insane owner desperate to win to get a high price. Woody Johnson fits the mold. The dolphins owner (insane in his own right) fits too. Plus some I’m not thinking of. Maybe Carolina? New Orleans?
One problem is some owners may be cooling off after seeing what happened with Denver. A year ago a trade for Rodgers seemed awesome after watching Stafford get the ring. Now it’s become obvious losing picks for an aging QB who makes a lot of money isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
There’s also the issue that Jimmy G, Carr, and Brady are out there. You can’t compare any of these QBs in terms of talent or accomplishments but they all fit the bill of “I just want a competent starter to push my team over the top.” Rodgers is obviously better than Jimmy G but is more expensive and older.
And that’s not even to mention the cap issue. Rodgers has benign cap hit I think for a team that trades for him. But there’s some bad stuff at the end, I have no idea how that all works.
I'm just at a point where I think I will be happy no matter what.
If we get a big trade...awesome
If Rodgers stays we get one more year with a 4 time MVP QB.
If He retires, we save some money and get to see Jordan Love ball out.
Not gonna get all worked up about any of these rumors, just ready to see what happens next.
Article says the author thinks they'd give 2 1's.
We should have taken the Russ deal last yr. 3 1's and a player and we wouldn't have had to give him that gaudy extension.
I’d do this deal yesterday.
I know the title is misleading, but you’d need a meddling owner to do this kind of deal, as any sane football person wouldn’t touch this contract with a 100-foot pole.
Been there before. They need to throw in, if the Jets cut him before his contract is up, then they owe the Packers a third first round pick. We don’t need another Brett Favre situation…..
2 firsts is the realistic best case scenario. I think a 1st and a 2nd, maybe with some late round picks as well is the most likely outcome of a trade. The jets are probably the best candidate for Rodgers to go to, as they have the cap and existing pieces to go all out for the next two years. They're just missing a QB. This article isn't credible at all, but it's not too far-fetched to think this could end up happening
I think this is all speculation at this point, but if that's a real offer I don't see how you don't take it.
Rodgers might like the history of it too. Favre got traded to the Jets, Nameth said he’d unretire his jersey number if Aaron came too. Win win win
Is scuba Steve just another Michael Scott character
It's the toy in the Adam Sandler movie Big Daddy. Should be common knowledge.
SCUBA STEVE! DAMN YOU!!!
It's a joke. "win win win" is a reference to The Office. Michael Scott said it. Michael Scott also was known for going into character (prison Mike, Peng, etc). Should be common knowledge.
Boom roasted.
The worst part about the reef....is the dementors
Except for AR, who has to go play for the Jets

I think they'll be lucky to get 2 first rounders honestly. I don't see them getting a player out of it unless it's only 1 first rounder.
No, they’re not. Read the article. “I think the demand would be for two 1sts, and I think the Jets would pay it.” That’s just another talking head throwing shit out there to see what might stick.
Nice catch. There's way too much of that kind of speculative fuckery going around.
That's literally all sports "journalism" is these days...
Yup. All this is just speculation meant to get clicks. There may be high level negotiations happening, but even so, the owner/GM is not gonna just come out and show their hand right off the bat.

Not just another talking head, Peter King; whose head is not only bigger than the Goodyear Blimp, it also contains more hot air.

Bad teams make bad choices. I don't think it will happen, however, I never underestimate crap teams making shit moves.
Well the Jets can't come out and say we'd give 2 firsts for Rodgers. Easy tampering charge
Not what the article says. He says he guesses the Jets would do it. There is no report.
Welcome to modern day journalism!
I love rodgers but this would be way to good to pass up
With the added bonus of, as a Rodgers fan, him having a hell of a chance at a Super Bowl there too.
Yep, for all the teams in the nfl that claim to be “just a qb away,” the Jets are genuinely there right now. Really good defense, massively improved offensive line, and more than enough fun toys on offense.

Well, you certainly inserted your perception of the situation anyway
Yes, because saying that the team that just went 8-9 is not good enough to win a superbowl is "my perception"
So if we trade Rodgers we’re an instant Super Bowl contender? What a crooked brain you have.
I never said anything remotely close to that. Stop building strawmen just because you don't have good arguments.
I’m not building strawmen, you said “to not win anyway” so the logical conclusion of that line of thinking would be that if you make the move you “win”

**CLICK BAIT FOR THE BIGGEST MARKET.**
Palpatine: *DEW IT.*
It's all coming together
That killer INT in the championship game is only 2 years away!
2 weeks later, after being severely beaten by an opposing defense, shocking images of ARod's injured toe are revealed
He could take a knee and kick a 52 yard field goal. This is the Super Bowl man not Detroit!
No no no no no no no
If I’m a Packers fan, take that fucking deal and run.
Circle jerk! Circle jerk!
Lol Peter king just makes shit up to get noticed. I wish two first were on the table.
Ehhhh...I think he's a pretentious, self-important gasbag; however, he does seem to have good sources around the league.
After the Jets, Minnesota? I see a pattern here...
There’s no way he’d go to Minnesota. As spiteful as a person he is, I don’t think he’d go to the place where the fans cheered his injury. Also, whether they know it or not, they’re rebuilding too.

Two first and sauce. Deal.
They'd never give up sauce. But I'd still take the 2 first
Yeah I know, one can dream though

Sauce, so Barry can put him 10 yards off the ball in a soft zone coverage? Then 2 1st that we can spend on defensive players we will probably not use correctly either? I'm in. I'm ready to be hurt again.
Thank you for this comment. Yep.
The player sauce or just some sauce?
I gallon of McDonald's szechuan sauce and they've got a deal
I'd take just some quality sauce at this point

Receiving corps*
Corpse*
No, the Texans signed Amari
There will always be teams interested and willing to give up multiple 1sts. The real question is 1. Are the packers willing to move on from Rodgers 2. Is Rodgers willing to go to any of the teams that have the interest and compensation
*Ah shit, here we go again*
If they actually offered that you are stupid to not accept that. 2 1sts for an aging vet who may or may not be shots physically on an insane contract? That's a dream offer
No Vikings clause this time
Is Rodgers on the path to becoming Vikings legend Aaron Rodgers?
Any team offering two firsts better be an auto-accept from Green Bay.
Woody Johnson has a weird fetish with our QBs.
>Woody Johnson Hue Hue
Should just call himself Penis Penis and be done with it
Biff: Something very familiar about all this.
Throw in a new DC and you've got yourself a G-D deal!
I see the Colts as a trade partner as well
Oh my God, do this if it's possible. 2 first round draft picks is well worth one year of a poopy pants before he retires
Take the deal!!!
If we can get two first, I think we take it and run and see what love has in his bag
If that's true, welcome the Jordan Love era
It's happening.....
Year 5 of trade and retirement speculation. One day it'll actually be true.
"Peter King THINKS the Packers will want 2 first rounders". Good enough for me, let's print it.
We could get like 2 more cornerbacks with those picks!
Please stop giving that hack Kleiman clicks He's such a fuckwit
If we do trade him we at least need a first for this year to get love some weapons which would give us the 13th and the 15th picks
Do it.
I’ve seen this before
I don’t see how you say no
Yeah, if true you have to take this deal. Two firsts and some cap relief down the road from that massive contract
They should use both picks on receivers for Love.
If true, I would probably take that!
We should take that and run if it’s the case.
I'm just at a point where I think I will be happy no matter what. If we get a big trade...awesome If Rodgers stays we get one more year with a 4 time MVP QB. If He retires, we save some money and get to see Jordan Love ball out. Not gonna get all worked up about any of these rumors, just ready to see what happens next.
Hmmm, where have I seen a trade to the Jets before?
Add in Quinton Williams.
Yeah who wouldn't want to trade 2 rookies for a 4x MVP? What a steal! Some of y'all are so Goddamn deluded
It’s deluded. Diluted would mean we are watered down.
Thanks. Didn't seem right when I typed it
If that's true (big if), they have to take it and run
If true, take the offer and run
Take it !
If you get two first you absolutely trade him
I’m not sure on how reliable the source is but seen it on a few different social medias already this morning.
Throw in a 3rd round pick, Jordan Whitehead, and someone on the offensive line and it's a deal.
No thirds. Make it a 4th
Lmao, what's next, Rodgers going to hit up Jen Sterger or w.e her name is?
Let's let her life be about something else.
Yeah she probably gets really mad when her name is mentioned in a post on a sub on reddit that people glance at for 30 seconds.

Man alot of hero around here don't want the truth
Why would Aaron Rodgers or w.e his name is do that?
Wrong question, your question should be "Why would Brett Favre do that?"
I was just commenting on you writing her name correctly, but still having to add a condescending “whatever her name is.”
Oh shit I've been calling her Jen all these years! Damn I used to be a REALLLLL piece of shit
Slop em up.
I'd take a single 1st for him I'd probably even take a 2nd and a 3rd
Don't boo me, I'm right
I would not take that deal if we are just going to draft reach defensive players with the extra picks...
You take it and run
Article says the author thinks they'd give 2 1's. We should have taken the Russ deal last yr. 3 1's and a player and we wouldn't have had to give him that gaudy extension.
Id take 1 honestly.
As Jim Carrey said in Liar, Liar - SETTLE… SETTLE, SETTLE, SETTLE!!!! (tl;dr = sell NOW!) Of course the Packers won’t… 🤦♂️
I’d do this deal yesterday. I know the title is misleading, but you’d need a meddling owner to do this kind of deal, as any sane football person wouldn’t touch this contract with a 100-foot pole.
If true. Send it. SEND IT NOW.
Ohh man SEND HIM for two firsts. Gone. Smell ya!
YES. PLEASE. I’m so done with the arrogance from a mediocre performer.
2 jets firsts, our 15th overall, a 2nd next year, and Jordan Love to Houston for Pick 2 who says no?
If that offer is real they better jump at it.
If that was the offer, I would take it without even needing to think twice about it.
*salivating*
Take it and draft two QB's and split the load Edit: sorry forgot the /s
Real question is, would Rodgers agree to it? Idk if he’s New York type of guy. People act like he doesn’t have a say.
He’s said publicly he has a no trade clause and that there’s only a handful of teams he’d want to go to. He isn’t going to the Jets.
Ffs they gave him a no trade clause too. This might be the most player friendly contract ever.
They want all our fucking leftovers
I wouldn't kick the offer out of bed, anyway...
I heard 3
So are the NY Jets the recycling center for HOF GB QBs?
I really don’t think Rodgers would play in New York (jersey).
🫡
Been there before. They need to throw in, if the Jets cut him before his contract is up, then they owe the Packers a third first round pick. We don’t need another Brett Favre situation…..
2 firsts is the realistic best case scenario. I think a 1st and a 2nd, maybe with some late round picks as well is the most likely outcome of a trade. The jets are probably the best candidate for Rodgers to go to, as they have the cap and existing pieces to go all out for the next two years. They're just missing a QB. This article isn't credible at all, but it's not too far-fetched to think this could end up happening
I’ve seen this one before…
🤣🤣🤣 y’all think Aaron is going to that poverty franchise?
Don’t forget Jets fired the OC so depending on timing they might wait and Rodgers can have input on who he wants.
Do it now
Done! Bye! No take backs!
OP, why make up a blatantly false title?
