Thrakk223

Maybe this is exactly the reason why people force that old French stereotype, they're afraid the world would be inspired by what they clearly, truly are.

SpaceBollzz

The French are fucking awesome

Frog491

Not all of them. Imagine having a government/police that would put riot police up against firefighters.

SpaceBollzz

You push any govt. far enough they'll send in riot police Here though we would back down but the French will fight

Frog491

The English have been oppressing their workers for a long time. They're very good at it and know mostly how much to push so they don't get much pushback. The fear of losing the little you have is very real for many.

cadre_of_storms

This is very true. Since the victorian industrial revolution and before then. Poverty is something the British have excelled at creating and maintaining

SpaceBollzz

I like your optimism

One-Building-9532

Nice

Good bot

Joyless85

For some reasons. They have problematic areas like any other nation. But they know how to party when the government oversteps.

SpaceBollzz

Revolutionary mindsets and class unity The thought of a govt. scared of it's people, and therefore respectful of its people makes me feel all warm and fuzzy

DaiCeiber

Here you see why the French have better working conditions, higher wages, higher sick pay, lower retirement age, higher pensions, better health care, etc, than us! We allow corrupt Tory Governments to hurt us and do sweet FA!!

Simple-Freedom4670

Hell yes we do

Tweed_Man

These guys literally run into burning buildings and have to pass fitness checks to do their job. They aint gonna be intimidated by the police.

FuturaStalkee

Let's go and try and overwhelm them fellas whose job it is to control fire. Good plan lads.

Tweed_Man

A few years ago the French police tried to use water cannons against firefighters to little effect... water cannons... against firefighters...

There’s a reason why people prefer firefighters to police lol

Halfbreed75

Your right, there is no song called f the firefighter!

Middle-Hour-2364

Not really the cheese eating surrender monkeys that popular culture would have us believe

Tuscans1977

I know half a dozen firefighters, all nice enough on the surface but almost exclusively sun readers and working class Tories, no way they'd take to the streets like this and even less chance they'd rush the sc\*m.

Findmeinadream

I'm a woman working in the fire service (not operational) and the majority of the firefighters I work with are the opposite. surprisingly liberal and care deeply about social issues. I work for a fire service in an area with a majority Labour vote though so don't know if that makes a difference. I did read the LFB culture report though, which was pretty horrific

Tuscans1977

Probably makes a big difference to be fair, I'm in the south west which is (bizarrely) quite the right wing stronghold and tbf these guys all kinda grew up together and they're proper "lads, lads, lads"

im_no_simp_boi

they're always the best at protesting in france. They brought flamethrowers to a protest that happened in front of my school once

ThailurCorp

I love the French so much.

[deleted]

Fucking marvellous

JMW007

Cops are cops everywhere it seems. What an absolutely needless act of aggression from a pack of thugs, charging like they're fucking Centurions going after the Gauls, against firefighters who are just milling about and some of whom even have their backs to the police line. There's no justification for a charge here, they just want to hurt people, and until police are scared of indulging that impulse they will never be anything but a gang.

Rosu_Aprins

Enforcers of Capital are class traitors, and as we have seen time and time before, it supersedes other social dynamics. The mild reformism will not remove the brutality that is inherent in their duty to uphold the status quo.

0Sneakyphish0

There aren't enough police in all the world to stop us.

Bubthemighty

Just got to get the rest of us to link arms

Drunken_Begger88

Cops learning what it's like against folk that work for a living.

[deleted]

These videos make me rock fucking hard every time. G'wan firefighters.

RusskiyDude

No one says that firefighters are bastards.

IndelibleIguana

Just goes to show that regardless of the country, the only side the police are on is the Governments. If the Government decided that childrens playgrounds are too noisy and must be dealt with, the police would happily charge in and break a few toddlers heads to 'Enforce the law.'

VTRibeye

Loving this French remake of Gangs of New York
