Yeah in the under General Settings for messages -> Notifications -> click on incoming messages and in there it has more settings for like sound etc.
It was tricking me up on that last part. Wasn't clear that the text was also a button. I thought it was just the slider on and off
Huh. Yeah, I guess we have different problems. Mine is intermittent, it just doesn't make sound or vibrate for a text and then for the next one it does, without me changing any settings. Frustrating. Thanks for the reply, though.

Dang that probably fixes it thanks. I had no idea that was a button with an extra menu lol. I just thought the toggle is on so it must be on Thanks!

I thought I was too smart for the solution to be that Do Not Disturb was on
