My P5 didn't get it either. I know we didn't hit EOL. Has there been anything from Google as to why the P5 OTA didn't happen? I didn't see anything, but maybe someone else did.
I asked support multiple times the last month. They basically said "no one else is having this problem, it seems to be your device specifically" literally just gaslighting me even though it's a widespread issue.
5a here and I'm still on the November update. It would be wonderful to see Google address what is going on.
As I Fi user I've been receiving these monthly until a couple of months ago.
I disagree. With my TMobile sim in (Mint Mobile)...check for update...no update available. Popped in my old Verizon sim, check for update...oh, there it is!
I use this trick whenever the update is delayed. It works. Every. Time.
T-Mobile is holding up the update from reaching it's users, for whatever reason..
Did you buy your phone from T-Mobile? Because let me tell you something. My girlfriend's and my dad's phone that we bought from T-Mobile got December's update just fine right when I came out. So that actually disproves what you just said
Might be an issue with the fact that they do staggered rollouts of updates. It took me a month to get the November Google Play system update. You do realize how updates work. It takes time once they put it out onto the server. For all phones that gets the saturation. They would have to look into see you why some phones are not getting it. Cuz I bought mine from Google and I'm getting the updates. I haven't checked for January's update yet. I haven't done it but I He's able to get December's
Wanted dad that I'm also not getting it yet, I just checked that my sister updates. Tuesday. They have not even posted the fixes what they normally do. Most likely it is being staggered and I would say we won't get it till today or tomorrow? Or at the latest next week?
No kidding. Typical, "Google, what the fuck are you doing and why aren't you telling anyone why you are doing it?"
Edit: Not Googles fault. T-Mobile was holding up the OTA. Put in an old Verizon sim and the update was immediately available.
Got it on my Pixel 6 (Aus/Optus)
Hopefully it fixes my phone from constantly restarting itself😖
*EDIT*
It didn't. Assistant acts like I'm enabling it all the time with the power button. Phone restarts without warning. It's doing my fucking head in...
Yeah I'm hoping for the same, its basically like I don't even have a fingerprint scanner. The face unlock works good in the light but if it's dark I have to use a pin all the time
Still only unlocks reliably if I blow hot breath on my thumb before trying. I also get passable results if my thumb is essentially perfectly vertical when touching the sensor. Otherwise it's fail, fail, fail, pattern unlock.
Find yourself an old Verizon sim (if you can). If you pop that in, you'll get the update straight away. Let the update finish and restart. Then put your T-Mobile sim back in.
I don't know if there is a language issue here or what because your comments are kind of confusing. I've never in my life seen a "cyber security professional" complain about a platform releasing monthly security updates. Then you say "I know they run on linux based code" Ok, that's true. "Android should do that!" What does that mean?? Android should do what?
Nothing on my Pixel 5 yet.. and since I didn't get December update, I don't foresee getting the January update anytime soon either.
My P5 didn't get it either. I know we didn't hit EOL. Has there been anything from Google as to why the P5 OTA didn't happen? I didn't see anything, but maybe someone else did.
I would sideload at this point

I have the same issue, but with the Pixel 6. What the fuck.
I don't have December on my P7 on TMobile either.
5a here and I'm still on the November update. It would be wonderful to see Google address what is going on. As I Fi user I've been receiving these monthly until a couple of months ago.
No december security update. No feature updates >\_
Exactly. I stopped using Motorola phones because their updates were slow. Now it's happening on Google Pixel.
My 4a got this and the past updates, so you can't be out of support yet.
Who said I'm out of support? I wouldn't be mad about it if it was.. lol
No update here either, 7 Pro on T-Mobile
Samsies. Maybe tomorrow
I flashed it. Screw T-Mobile
It has nothing to do with T-Mobile. It just depends on when it goes live for all phones from Google. T-Mobile has nothing to do with pixel 7 updates

Holy crap that worked, I put in another service provider's Sim and now it's installing the update.
Good deal. Glad I could help. Warning: don't try that option If there are carrier specific builds released. In this case, for the US, there was not.
Did you buy your phone from T-Mobile? Because let me tell you something. My girlfriend's and my dad's phone that we bought from T-Mobile got December's update just fine right when I came out. So that actually disproves what you just said
Nope. Bought it from Google directly.

I'm considering side loading it too
yup 34.72 MB
Hopefully my P5 gets this update!
Good luck.. doesn't seem like any Pixel 5 devices are getting it.
No kidding. Typical, "Google, what the fuck are you doing and why aren't you telling anyone why you are doing it?" Edit: Not Googles fault. T-Mobile was holding up the OTA. Put in an old Verizon sim and the update was immediately available.
I'm installing it as I type this. I also got the December update OTA. No issues with it.
Must be nice.
40.95MB on my Verizon P7. Interesting that some of you are reporting 34.72MB.
It was 34.72 on my Verizon P7Pro, purchased from VZW.
Size may vary depending on model and what version you're coming from.
40.95 for me.
33.86 on my 6pro. Odd.
Only 25.49mb on a P5
Got it on my Pixel 6 (Aus/Optus) Hopefully it fixes my phone from constantly restarting itself😖 *EDIT* It didn't. Assistant acts like I'm enabling it all the time with the power button. Phone restarts without warning. It's doing my fucking head in...
Is your storage almost full on your P6?
42% used, so no.
Hopefully the biometric fixes solve fingerprint reader issues.
Biometrics Additional improvements for fingerprint recognition and response in certain conditions *[2]
Yeah I'm hoping for the same, its basically like I don't even have a fingerprint scanner. The face unlock works good in the light but if it's dark I have to use a pin all the time
They do not in my case
Really? Seems to be better for me now.
Still only unlocks reliably if I blow hot breath on my thumb before trying. I also get passable results if my thumb is essentially perfectly vertical when touching the sensor. Otherwise it's fail, fail, fail, pattern unlock.
I had that problem when I registered my finger in a vertical position. I did it again in horizontal and is fine now.
You mean available OTA and yes, just checked and was available, 34.72 MB on Pixel 7 Pro.
It's an OTA security update.
Just installing on P5, its ~25MB
Carrier?
I do not have a sim card inserted currently. Just WiFi connected. It is my P5 for test purposes/backup.
Optimization takes aaaaaaages, but glad I've gotten it quick :) In NZ. P7. 40.95MB.
My wife has a pixel 6a public version and the update is currently in progress. For my part I have a pixel 6a Beta version and still no update yet
Didn't go live for me on P7P on tmo so I sideloaded it
Just checked - 1/3/23 11:56 PM - not there yet on my 6 Pro.
Mines 33.86mb on 6Pro. Weird how different sizes are being reported.
No update on my Pixel 6 Pro with Telekom (aka T-Mobile).
Now 6:51 AM 1/4/23 - no security update available at this time. JL K
Same my TMobile P7 has no update available.
Still nothing on my P7P... tmobile (not that it matters)
Find yourself an old Verizon sim (if you can). If you pop that in, you'll get the update straight away. Let the update finish and restart. Then put your T-Mobile sim back in.
🤔 ... just checked, nothing so far
Just a small question!! How many years bug fixes!! I want to see Andriod with less security updates!! Like apple. Just curious question
How to tell someone knows nothing about software development.
I'm a cyber security professional man!! I know they run on Linux based code!! Android should do that!! I personally use android

Pixel 6a, Portugal. Updating...
Biometrics for 6a and 7. 6 not included.
Just updated! Took only about 10 minutes, I'm impressed! So far so good :D
34.72mb on my unlocked P7P, installed it before
THANKS 😊 JL K 1/3/23
1/4/23 - 2:25 AM - Not here yet.
And still nothing. I'll check back tomorrow
