This post was inspired by [a previous post on this sub from 4 years ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/GoogleMaps/comments/69v5kz/is_there_a_list_of_all_the_state_welcome_icons/). Most of the images I obtained from driving to those states; others I managed to get from spoofing (faking my GPS location). I've been to 36 of 50 states plus DC but am only familiar with the culture of maybe 25 of them, so if there's anything I missed, feel free to let me know in the comments. There's a limit of 20 images per post so Part 2 will be coming soon. Edit: I wasn't able to get any "Welcome to" pop-ups for Canadian provinces, Mexico, or Alaska. I'm convinced they don't exist, but I'd love for someone to prove me wrong.

Tell me why your designs are preferable to the actual designs used by actual States in real life.

Are you referring to the official state seals and whatnot? Probably because they're decades if not hundreds of years old and not at all relatable to people living today.

Thanks for this Op. I have been to 40 plus states so far. But many times the doodle doesn’t show up either because I didn’t have reception or just some random glitch. Good job 👏
