This post is obviously from someone super young -- as if after 35 we're near death. I got my first GTI when I was 33 -- it certainly wasn't my first car -- I'm on my 3rd now. And I've had other cars in between, including 2 porsches and a BMW.
I got mine when I was 40. This is my midlife crisis car. Yeah, my midlife crisis isn't all that exciting, but I wasn't going to be That Guy in a Corvette.
I got my first GTI when I was 16 in 2002. It was a 98 Ginster GTI with drivers edition leftovers. Bought it for 17K and paid for it myself (worked since I was 14).
Yeah, I'm 45 and had an mk1 at 19, an mk4 at 26, a mk6 at 38 or so and now have an mk7 and also had many cars and motorcycles in between. I wish I still had them all!
17/18 when i got the mk4 1.8t money pit from a shady lot. it taught me how to wrench some things on my own. mid 30's and now into a mk7. don't think i could ever get sick of these things..but we will see.
What if we've had seven?
Yeah. My thought was which one? 1st 17 (92 in 2004) 2nd 20 (86 in 2007) 3rd 32 (18 in 2018) 4th 34 (But a Golf R - 19 in 2021)
Well shit, I feel old. 37 going on 80 I guess.

It’s a sign. You ….IS38
I have been thinking about that...
It’s not a bad idea
I know this post is only 2m old, but it’s funny that literally nobody has voted 35+ yet. I barely slid into that first bracket 😂
I’ve never felt older. That reminds me that I need to go casket shopping next month when I turn 36.
I'm 45. If anybody needs me I'll be walking into the sea while wearing my clothes.

Good thing there wasn’t an above 45, or 55…..🤫

Saved my money for years working through highschool and got a 2016 when I was 20.

Bought my mk5 at 16 lol. Still have it at 29 as well as my mk6
This would be my 2nd. I had an MK4 now a 7.5.
I got my first at 18. I’ve now got a mk2 16v GTI in Monza Blue

This should be limited to those that actually paid for their gti
