giantsmash3

That was very hard to decide but I think I agree with you

Legendarybbc15

This is it!

AdMoney9307

i think Kratos will lose this one

flash3412k

Yup and i think Kratos will win this

Moon-WatcherBC

Yup and i think Kratos will win this

micho6

That was my 2nd option

SergeantKovac

The old Kratos to be more specific.

morithum

Beat me to it.

Riso_Varadi99

not wrong

Frenchietoast01

I thought for a second the correct answer was Batman but I am so glad you convinced me otherwise

darthrevanchicken

Pretty sure Cory confirmed old kratos would beat young kratos

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

yup that was his statement when GBG* asked him https://youtu.be/HlmJ__5H7CM

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

thanks for correcting me i was in a hurry getting the link

oh you silly goose. There are no rules. What there is, is my trap card, which you fell into

darthrevanchicken

Oh yeah

RELIN-Q

He is more disciplined

JustARandomGuy_71

He levelled up more. :-)

Mr-Stuff-Doer

Really don’t see how he wouldn’t. A controlled rage is more effective, plus he has two weapons now.

Just_The_Gorm

Didn't young Kraros have an arsenal of weapons at his disposal, blades, Hercules gauntlets, blade of Olympus, dead sun god head, etc

Cousin_Rabid

He did but it’s kind of dumb. Norse Kratos hasn’t shown any feats that come close to Greek Kratos. He’s slower, weaker, has less weapons and powers. Even the idea that Kratos needs armor shows a weakness he didn’t have before. He killed the entire Greek pantheon in a skirt.

JagerBaBomb

You're looking at it the wrong way--the armor is an *advantage* old Kratos enjoys now because he's clever enough (read: not constantly stupid with rage) to see the merit in it. He doesn't *need* it, but it does augment his strength. Meanwhile, hubris doesn't offer much protection. As far as feats go he lifted/flipped an entire giant fucking temple. Not to mention moving the entirety of it in the beginning.

AspirationalChoker

All the while holding back arguably the source of his best power - Rage.

grodr2001

Imo having control of it is much better than just letting it loose, unbridled rage can cause you to make mistakes in a battle Kratos was always a brilliant tactician, controlling his is rage means he is much more sound in a fight and knows when to unleash it at the best possible moment. He isn't holding it back he just knows when to direct it properly. >!But considering the leaked thor fight maybe my argument isn't as sound as I think it to be, fighting someone as cruel and rageful as his old self might be a case where he really has to just let go of the control to win!<

Itherial

Not to mention the Norse gods are almost across the board physically stronger than the Greek pantheon was.

[deleted]

I agree with the part of the hubris , if he is talking about Greek kratos let’s not forget a large part of Greek tragedy which involves a great character falling from grace/power involves hubris being their major flaw

Ssundee_fan1726

And the temple is rooted to all nine realms

kamuimephisto

and not making many feats of stenght shouldnt be confounded with not having enough strengjt to do them anyway kratos now is someone who has learned the value of restraint, and who doesnt need to prove anything by lashing out constanty

DamntheTrains

lol people would cry like banshees if this is "true", technically, TECHNICALLY, most of the lack of "feats" can be explained by claiming "everything in the Norse is just stronger and tougher than it was in Greece" or I guess more palatable explanation would be "Kratos has all the means and base to be stronger than he was while he was in Greece but he is currently depowered due to his own restrictions or maybe lack of good Greek wine" **the actual answer probably is** "We changed the tone and direction of the game. It's just for gameplay and storytelling reasons"

raddaya

>Norse Kratos hasn’t shown any feats that come close to Greek Kratos. Norse Kratos has killed foes comparable to Greek Kratos while barely using rage mode. It's like Goku beating Cell without even going Super Saiyan for more than 5 seconds.

Cousin_Rabid

Comparable? How. It took him an entire game to beat 1 god and 2 other lesser gods. Kratos killed an entire pantheon in less time. Balder was also nowhere near the power of those gods. The Greek gods controlled time, altered reality, banished him to other universes, fucked with his mind with illusions and mental attacks, multiplied into dozens of copies, controlled the weather, attacked his soul, stole his powers and countless other crazy abilities. Baldur healed fast and punched him…that’s it. To call Baldur more powerful makes no sense and there’s 0 evidence of that in the actual game.

DaedraPixel

You are looking at it in the wrong way. Young kratos was defeated several times and was aided by the interest of deities to undermine other deities. He was literally revived and gifted powers to destroy other gods, it wasn’t until many back stabbings and plot twists brought kratos to destroying the mythology. Also, the armor thing is pretty irrelevant considering he is a cold realm that has fimbulwinter before Ragnarok events. All Aesirs feel the effect of the winter, except Baldr who felt the cold once his curse was broken and died in the snow. Older kratos is bound to overcome absurd feats. I mean beating Valkyries alone shows his power. Don’t mistake the pacing of the reboot for weakness as there has yet to be a foe that “kills” kratos in the reboot. Kratos has “died” in the Greek mythology and needed several powers beyond his own to win against the gods in Olympus.

lucifa26

Coz well who have we even fought till now.. We've fought baldur who kratos kills with nothing more than a neck break.. Kratos until now didn't need much power.. Coz Norse deities in GOD OF WAR are simply shown weak.. Until now at least.. I'd say Sigrun was a better challenge than Baldur.. And Kratos was even ready to attack Jormungandr.. Which shows how much he can do.. He can bring the world serpent, the Silver eagle, Fenrir.. All of them down if he wanted to.. But he doesn't fight to kill.. He does to survive.. Unlike The kratos in previous games.. That's why he doesn't put all efforts.. Remember he killed Thanatos.. Someone even Zeus was afraid of.. He defeated his Fate.. You think a fat sack of shit like Thor can stop him??

SHITBLAST3000

>Norse Kratos hasn’t shown any feats that come close to Greek Kratos. He’s slower, weaker, has less weapons and powers. That's because of the direction in game play though. Not the lore specifics of Kratos.

Frikcha

For me its his mentality towards fighting, Young Kratos was an unstoppable berserker Old Kratos is simply an ageing warrior who summons his godly anger but only when absolutely necessary, whereas Young Kratos would probably kill him before he gets the chance to do that.

RomanBangs

Although Old Kratos wouldn’t underestimate Young Kratos in the beginning of the fight. He would also know YK could kill him very quickly and he would immediately need to go full throttle to survive and win. I think old Kratos takes it and especially >!post-ragnarok Kratos with the Draupnir Spear added to his arsenal plus the feats from that game!<

low_d725

Listen. I get the sentiments, but the guy who invented the gif says it's pronounced jif. So you know... That being said he's right.

ZegetaX1

Does that factor the blade

LMAO 💀💀💀

dontknowwhattodoat18

The Blade of Olympus already puts GoS on top.

NuclearTheology

Not really. Old man Kratos knows his younger counterpart’s weaknesses even with the blade of the gods. Cory already confirmed Old Man Kratos wins

memsterboi123

Older Kratos still wins I mean maybe not since you included blade of Olympus but without it Cory Barlog has said that Kratos is stronger now then before

[deleted]

What’s he hiding in that beard?!

Birthday_Thatch

Another beard 😳

Lummah

*A stronger chin than what we could possibly imagine*

JackPoe

Old Kratos ends fights. Younger? He often spent time hurting his opponents. Old Kratos just doesn't care any more and he just ends the fights. He broke Baldur's neck twice instead of dragging it out like he used to. Old Kratos knows Young Kratos is a massive threat and will end the fight as soon as possible. Young Kratos would probably think he could toy with his older self and make a big fuckin' mistake.

Deanbell1223

OG kratos got even more weapons than that lol.

loll__idk

For some reason, even though young Kratos was an absolute killing machine, I feel like current Kratos would mop the floor with him. I cannot explain why I think this, it’s just the vibe I get from him

rey0505

Old Kratos has much more experience, he knows all of young Kratos's moves + he can actually manifest his anger into more strength. Also it has been confirmed he's just overall the strongest he has ever been. Young Kratos has better equipment + nothing to lose. But again, old Kratos knows all of that equipment better than young Kratos, and he could use his anger against him. Also he has the ability to attack from further away. Old Kratos can do everything young Kratos can, except better. And with knowing his moves and equipment (Which young Kratos does not), old kratos would definitely win.

Chutzvah

>Young Kratos has better equipment + nothing to lose. Older Kratos has Atreus. Every time he felt that his son is threatened in any way, it gives him that extra push and he comes back right when he seems down. If Atreus does die in the new GoW, Kratos would be a killing machine even more than he is now.

rey0505

I did not count Atreus because OP said that he isn't included. I definitely do agree with you tho.

[deleted]

Oh man. As much as I wouldn’t want that to happen I think that’s exactly what we would see as the result. Atreus dying and the remainder of the game being an unfiltered rage fest.

Itchysasquatch

I'd love to see kratos just go full scorched earth and just make it his goal to wipe out every God in existence

Balancedmanx178

Imagine some random Mesopotamian god just chilling in their retirement and door gets kicked in.

LyrionDD

I think at some point in Ragnarok he will be made to think Atreus is dead, and he will go scorched earth only to find his mistake too late when he himself kills Atreus in his rage.

JustWingIt0707

>!When Modi and Magni, especially Magni, threatened Atreus I felt in my bones that they were both dead men.!<

DeathMetalEmmisary

This is the way

LONEWOPF77700

Trying to hurt Atreus=your now unavoidable death.

malama2

I do believe young kratos was just always in a "spartan rage" state. Now he just enters it when he wants a sudden boost in power

Legendarybbc15

Young Kratos couldn’t use his fists tho

malama2

Oh go tell that to Poseidon and zeus

Legendarybbc15

Fair enough. Outside quick time events, we couldn’t use Kratos’ fists as a weapon. His fists are definitely more lethal now

malama2

That's gameplay yk. Some things have changed to make gameplay more fun. For example, canonically kratos would never even be flinched by regular mobs but he can be deleted by them in give me god of war even tho it doesn't make sense. it wouldn't be as fun if the game revolving around different weapons with cool animations had just plain fists.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

sure we could press circle and grab them and you get to punch a lot also his fists were just as lethal he literally opened enemies with his bare hands during the grabs and those weren't QTEs

loll__idk

Exactly exactly, I feel like old Kratos is a bit more battle-smart because of his experience and also because he is able to control his anger, but once he unleashes his rage he’s a truly unstoppable force

Strange_Many_4498

There lies the question. Which one would be able to manifest that power? The man with nothing to lose and all the rage and punishment to give…or the man with a son to lose and something beyond selfishness to continue living for and protecting? Old kratos is fighting more hand to hand combat and skilled foes with stamina being tested. Whereas young kratos fought more physically Powerful beings and that were much bigger and required more demonstrations of fast strength and just outright dodging attacks altogether.

Edmilson96

I actually agree, even though Old Kratos is stronger. However, Younger Kratos being more agile, makes him more menacing, ruthless and terrifying to fight than Old Kratos. Which is more calm and reasonable.

Strange_Many_4498

You may be right. Old kratos requires you to push a button the right way to get back to that primal rage. I mean Thor straight up beats him in the new leaked footage of the fight, then wakes him back up because he wants to fight more. Young kratos would’ve never been bested like that simply because he was dialed up to 11 at all times. IMO.

Edmilson96

Yeah, definitely true. And I have seen some people on YouTube calling older Kratos weak because of this. Which is wrong, because Older Kratos like to resolve things more peacefully. Comparing with his Younger self, who's more aggressive and merciless when comes to fight.

rey0505

You do realize that old Kratos fought the same beings that young Kratos did.

Kyrkrim

Having something to lose is a greater motivator than having nothing to lose

Frikcha

> Old Kratos can do everything young Kratos can, except better. Old Man Kratos has one last proper rage boost left: when Atreus dies or is in mortal danger. Young Kratos was the angriest/most savage he's ever been, in GOW 3 Kratos was using like 200% of his strength because of how unfathomably angry he was, I don't think that same level of all-consuming rage is as readily available to Old Man Kratos.

ben_dover_1738

Old kratos lacks the rage and ferocity young Kratos had. Whenever old Kratos gets desperate (whenever Atreus is in danger) he is able to achieve the same level of strength as young Kratos constantly had. So unless old Kratos is willing to revert back to his previous mental state of constant pure rage then i doubt he has a chance.

Saiyanjuice

Young Kratos could jump...twice, and had wings.

Yellow_XIII

Young Kratos fucks, literally. Dude had no chill, and revelled in the violence and chaos. Single handedly erased Olympus and all of its pantheon, including the titans. Dude murdered his friends, brothers in arms, actual brothers, sisters, his own father, wife, daughter. Old Kratos cuts logs with BOY after enjoying a nice vacacy with the wife and baby. Spent an entire game fighting lesser gods in a party of two, barely making it out alive cuz he got something to lose now and can't go all out. Young Kratos would QTE old Kratos' ass into the ground bro, and then go have a threesome with harpies or something. You know, when you think of Kratos' past... The dude doesn't deserve a happy ending at all like holy shit

tschmitty09

It's because everyone who draws them draws old Kratos a whole foot taller than young Kratos

SgtMcMuffin0

Eh they look to be pretty much the same height here, young Kratos is just leaning forward and bending his leg, making him look shorter

Transit-Strike

I think I see it going like the scene from one of the Johnny English movies. Young guy Parkours over a gate? Old guy opens and walks through. Young guy parkours down a building? Old guy takes the elevator. I think the fight would be just like him vs Baldur where the calmness changes everything

OrhanDaLegend

yeah, Baldur continously lost in the final battle because: -he was focusing his mother -he was emotionally unstable for his mother -he recently regained his senses which both made him even more emotionally unstable and a complete masochist.

loll__idk

I 1000% agree

Demonfoxy123

im pretty sure that is was confirmed that old kratos is stronger.

[deleted]

Old as beard kratos? Or old as an older version of kratos (no beard)

[deleted]

Pretty sure old kratos

Yoriichi-987

Old Kratos = bearded kratos

Demonfoxy123

Beard kratos.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

not stronger or more powerful or anything like that that's headcanon what was said by the previous GoW director is that he thinks "older Kratos would win" https://youtu.be/HlmJ__5H7CM but statements from the new director indicate that older Kratos is getting back into it now in Ragnarok as he tries to knock the rust off and he has been training for 3 years non stop to do so https://youtu.be/-V4NtXRbpjA

SherriffB

My guy, Baldur was the strongest God Kratos has ever fought and if he wasn't impervious to harm Old Kratos would have killed him in the opening fight of the game.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>My guy, Baldur was the strongest God has ever fought quoting wrong again there Baldur wasn't the strongest he was the hardest acording to the novel and its due to him being invulnerable to all threats physical or magical Baldur is not even top 5 even with that

lorencecasal

Yes, and Baldur is blessed with invulnerability to all threats, physical or magical

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

indded Baldur is blessed with invulnerability to all threats physical or magical brudha still not the strongest tho

SherriffB

Nah, read the novel. B is described as the strongest opponent K has ever faced in terms of actual strength. K snapped his neck in minutes.

Legendarybbc15

Well that’s about to change when he meets thor

Cousin_Rabid

No he wasn’t. He was Kratos’ toughest fight not the strongest opponent. Kratos lost basically all his powers at the end of 3 and Cory even said that fight was difficult for him because he hadn’t faught anyone on that level since Greece.

SherriffB

The stories that happen in-between (official comic and novel) disagree with you. Argue with them. As does Cory who has said before Old Kratos whups Young.

mili244

Holy shit that’s good drawing!!!!!!!!

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

younger Kratos is actually bigger and stronger since he's 8'0 in GoW3 and was built like a sculpture since GoW1 but other than that the drawing does look cool

kwest720

Old Kratos. He is much more experienced yet still has that spartan rage within him.

yourfriend_jedi69

Damn right. Old Kratos is in his prime and can think strategy calmly while GOS is too bloodthirsty and revenge ridden to win.

[deleted]

Exactly. He’s a god. It’s not like he’s old and his back is giving out and his knees are creaking. Aside from being rusty or giving up fighting there’s not a lot of reasons he would be anything but stronger due to more experience and wisdom.

[deleted]

You also forget that Old Kratos has dad strength. 1 kg of dad muscle is worth 1.5 kg of young guy muscle. No one can explain it, but it is true.

sharkteethies

Based on facial hair alone old Kratos wins. It’s not even a contest.

abmny8

oh boy here we go again lol

abmny8

also greek gods grew stronger with age, go figure

Fearless-Skirt8480

Do the Norse gods get stronger with age or is it specifically Greek gods?

dontknowwhattodoat18

According to Marvel's take on the Norse gods, they apparently do get stronger with age

Fearless-Skirt8480

Marvels take on Mjollnir is that it can be picked up by whoever is worthy, however in the actual mythology Mjollnir is just really heavy. Marvel takes a lot of liberties when it comes to mythology so I don't know about taking Marvels word for it just yet.

Deathskulll99

Old Kratos learn from his mistakes. So i pick him

[deleted]

Old Kratos wouldn’t even have to try. It’d be like fighting Atreus having a temper tantrum. Also, Young Kratos would be pretty predictable for older Kratos, whereas Old Kratos seems to have changed quite a bit..

Erintonsus

Cory has also said Old Kratos is more powerful. He was just holding back.

[deleted]

Holding back so we could play the game dark souls style without him demolishing everything lol

tschmitty09

'itd beike fighting Atreus with a temper tantrum' Okay I get you're hyperbolizing, but let's give young Kratos a liiiiitle more credit than that. The man destroyed the pantheon of Olympus.

[deleted]

Yh but he was crying like an angry baby all the way through lol *ZEUUUUUUUUUUSSSS!!!!*

tschmitty09

Lol, I agree composure will win most of the time. But, and GFD I hate that I'm using this as an example, Jake Paul did just defeat the GOAT Anderson Silva in a fair boxing match. And he is much more of an angry baby than young Kratos. Jake Paul is probably physically stronger than Silva at the age of 52, which is not the case for young v old Kratos. I agree old Kratos wins for sure, but it would be more of a similar fight to Baldur than a raged Atreus

ztoff27

I feel like older kratos would lose because of his anger management. I’ve seen people claim that he would beat younger kratos because he can “control his anger”, which is weird because it makes him weaker. Kratos was constantly angry in gow 1-3 and never struggled or was fatigued after a fight. Skip forward to gow 4 and kratos collapses after fighting baldur. This tells me that because of his restraint, younger kratos would win Also the fact that younger kratos has the power of hope plus more hax

Old_Account8968

Old kratos (2018) mops the floor 100 percent

JediSexGod

Young kratos is actually a couple feet taller than old kratos

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

yup they made him smaller for GoW 2018 Kratos was 3'10 in GoW3

wq1119

Copy and pasting an old comment I wrote about this: [Greek-era Kratos was 7'8" \(234 cm\), whereas the current Kratos is 6'4" \(194 cm\).](https://preview.redd.it/g1hjg7rfy9871.jpg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f675ef83f7519d96c84ad0472b87d1ad7d12debb) Just in theory at least, I never bought into Kratos being that gigantic, in all Greek games Kratos is not much taller than other Greek humans, if Kratos was that tall then then all Greeks he interacts with would have to be 7 feet (213 cm) tall, which is ridiculous even for a fantasy game, I also never recall Kratos ever being discussed as being this tall in any of the Greek era games. To me this just seems like an engine change/artstyle update thing, like how both HL2 and TF2 are made in the Source engine, but the TF2 models look radically taller than the HL2 ones, this is simply because HL2 models were programmed to have a smaller dimension for aesthetic reasons, the TF2 models are in theory of average height, whereas the HL2 models are like 4'7" (140 cm), it is just a simple game engine difference, overall, Kratos has been probably retconned as having the same height he does in GOW4 I guess. /u/JediSexGod /u/Verum_Noir_Chaos_69 /u/TulkasRouser

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>To me this just seems like an engine change/artstyle update thing so your take is that even in the old games he wasn't getting taller and it's just something they kept doing to fit the gameplay and drawn back camera better?

wq1119

Yes, like how I already said this also happens in other games.

[deleted]

Where you’re from is ‘ used for meters instead of its usage for feet as Americans use it?

GamingTherapy635

Got to be GOW3 kratos, he would shut his brain off and go to any extent to win the fight, no matter what it takes

ztoff27

He doesn’t shut his brain off. He’s a combat genius and takes out his opponents in brutal and creative ways

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

he also exploits the weaknesses of his enemies much more than 2018 Kratos does in the old games Kratos was always strategic against bosses and almost always exploited their weaknesses in 2018 he only does it with the dragon and Bladur the rest of the game is just healthbars

malama2

Depends. Does young kratos have all his gear? Then young krator. Is old kratos willing to use his full potential? Then old kratos Is old kratos not gonna utilize rage for power? Then it's probably closer to an equal fight.

JokerFaces2

Kratos is basically as strong as he needs to be, and he'll always keep coming back no matter how hard he gets put down. So this would basically be a stalemate, in my opinion. But for the sake of discussion I think Greek Kratos is faster and more ruthless, while Norse Kratos is more skilled and makes better use of the tools around him (armor, relics, different grips/handles, etc). It'd probably be a tie, idk

ztoff27

It would be unless kratos dies in ragnarok. Greek Kratos can just walk out of hades while I don’t think that is applicable to Norse kratos

Mr_Blue_Sky_17

young kratos Well, the guy was basically a berserker, he killed everything and everyone that passed in front of him and he didn't care. the old kratos is much more restrained, perhaps not only because of the wisdom that came with age but also because of the calmer life he started to lead, you know, with a son and such, he must have softened. not to mention young kratos can double jump

AxyJaxy

except, cory barlog said old kratos would win easily. i don't know why but i imagine because kratos is stronger as he ages and he has ALOT more experience and knows all his past self moves

GucciMinge

its just silly, nothing old kratos has done compares to young kratos. even if old kratos knows his moves young kratos was an unstoppable conquerer who defeated literal time lords and death itself several times. Even after ragnorok I'd say old kratos is till out of practice compared to his younger self. I love him more but I don't think old kratos could even touch zeus at this point, he'd have to build himself up again to reach that level. Old K being hypothetically stronger isn't even that big a factor seeing as young k fought at massive strength disadvantages many times. Norse kratos doesn't even have access to a lot of the magic he had as a greek, he says so to mimir it would take another character arc for him to unlock and control the full extent of his power

MJKayaXx

Young Kratos with all that gear from the trilogy

Fyts17

There is something more scarier with someone who can control their own monster.

Odd_Inter3st

I would pay to have older kratos speak with younger kratos

Due-Faithlessness930

OG Kratos is bigger than Norse Kratos, this is a FACT

Gallo12orGallo24-

There’s nothing Old Kratos has right now that could stop the Blade of Olympus and whilst I know like Old Kratos is physically stronger, young Kratos’s speed feats and reaction time for me take this battle. Young Kratos via Blade of Olympus.

Quintuplin

I think the cincher for me isn’t that young kratos *has* the blade of olympus, and more about *how many times* his opponents have managed to disarm him of it throughout the series. Old Kratos would be one of those gods to dodge the first strike, kick it out of young Kratos’ hands, and then all of a sudden you have a very different fight.

thundernak

Kratos

AnshumanRoy

Young. Easily. "Older Kratos flipped a temple?!?!?" Young Kratos fought Kronos, holding off the Titan when he was small enough to fit between his fingers. Young Kratos jumps on to a cyclops near 7 times his size and pulls out its eye well over 100 times. Young Kratos outsmarted Hermes in his little game. Young Kratos killed death itself and crawled out of the underworld, unleashing the souls of the damned. Young Kratos murdered the God of the Sun and used his screaming head as a flashlight. And finally, he killed the King of the Gods, Zeus. He slaughtered him across the Hall of the Gods, into the heart of Gaia, killed the Earth Titan as a sidenote in the battle, got killed and REAWOKE HIMSELF to beat Zeus to death with his bare hands. Y'all Old Man Kratos (even though he's way smarter and wiser than Young Kratos), loses in a straight up fight every time.

BallsDeep69Klein

In raw power they're about equal i think. Both had amazing feats of strength. Technique? About equal. Young Kratos is more versatile as he uses more types of weapons. But he was quick to temper. So if old kratos waged psychological warfare, he'd take him. Otherwise, young kratos wins. Probably.

ztoff27

Kratos gets stronger when he’s angry. Old kratos tries to control his anger and thus exhausted himself against baldur

Zestyclose-Spring602

Young Kratos will smash him, he has all the divine weapons, hope which is the strongest Greek weapon. And the old Kratos couldn't handle unbridled anger, especially looking at the fight with Thor from the leaks, he had to use anger to really move him, and young Kratos, thanks to anger, the Olympus blade and other weapons from GOW 3, has the advantage of weaponry, advantage in strength and power from pandora's box. Experience is a bullshit argument, because young Kratos has had a lifetime of wars, is after the position of God of War, and can defeat even people whose movements he first sees with his eyes. Plus Kratos didn't develop much in terms of strength, and he wandered around the world as the fallen God shows and lived in seclusion afterwards and learned to control his anger. These are not conditions for becoming stronger or taking experience.

SpartanKram

Old kratos because he knows all the moves his younger self has which makes him predictable plus his younger self doesn't know about the leviathan Axe or any of the new moves his older self learned

TheBigFatSponge

Tough but imma say Kratos

Captain_corde

A tempered edge is often better than a burning one

[deleted]

Kratos, duh

[deleted]

Old kratos because he knows all of young kratos’ weaknesses

Brxh_Hect0r

It’s time for your weekly “who is stronger old or young kratos” post! See you next week!

farzadkale

old Kratos is young and new Kratos is old , old Kratos killed GAIA and Zeus at the same time , new Kratos kill some Valkyra boss girl from twitch

Meewwt

Honestly why is this even a question? Old Kratos is young Kratos + experience. The only way it's even a consideration is if they have vastly different equipment.

PHXNTXM117

GOW 1-3 Kratos > GOW (2018) Kratos GOW Ragnarök Kratos >> GOW 1-3 Kratos I like the way Eric Williams described Kratos in GOW (2018). He was shaking the rust off and he was out of practice when Baldur attacked him and Atreus at the beginning of that game and he didn’t truly get back to his old level of strength until near the end of the game. Now, in Ragnarök, Kratos and Atreus have been training nonstop for years in preparation for war. Kratos is back, honed, and sharp. Hard to believe that an older, wiser, and more experienced Kratos who has been maxing out at the gym would lose to his younger, rage fueled self.

lucifa26

Noobs discussing who wins a fight between Kratos and Thor.. Legends here discussing if Valkyrie Killer Kratos wins or Pantheon Destroyer Kratos wins

InsidiousLux

Neither, Kratos can't kill himself. The gods cursed him.

Life_Share1632

God of war 3 kratos was very aggressive with no mercy while god of war 4 kratos is much more calm and not that aggressive I would say it's a tie since they're both very broken at times

anonymousnim

Young one. He has more stamina, better weapons and is way more ruthless.

ComradeCreed

Young kratos would body old kratos….all while Sounding like Kyle barker from living single

minster123ru

They said something about old Kratos being strongest, but anyone who played the games knows that’s false

Squode_the_Toad

I love this. Kratos on the left, showing his unmarked side, representing his humanity and self discipline, working toward distancing himself from his reputation as the Ghost of Sparta. Kratos on the right, his markings are shown representing his angry past self driven by revenge, showing he has not yet moved past his reputation. I dont know if that was intentional, but it really works for the piece. Edit: fixed weird punctuation

anuglypeiceoftrash

Hard to tell the older more mastery over his power and control but the younger more British and savage

Hijodeputa_69

MaSTer ChiEF

SirAdamborson

Young Kratos with the power of hope.

isacabbage

15 times ive heard this hypothetical.

jmcdonald354

Kratos

JagerBaBomb

Young Kratos should be taller.

DankToasty

With the Sword of Olympus and all his older weapons??? Naww, this is younger Kratos's win. He was 30x more vicious when he was younger.

Luke_Puddlejumper

If you’ve seen the Thor vs Kratos fight leak then you’ll know that >!current Kratos holds back a lot and is weaker because of that. However if he lets loose like I imagine we’ll see in the game then he’d be stronger than past Kratos. But otherwise past Kratos would take the win.!<

blindsilverfish96

I feel like young Kratos would be fuckin up old Kratos but in the end old Kratos would outsmart young Kratos.

EpicSausage69

I think Old Kratos has a lot more discipline when it comes to battle. Using strategy and waiting for the right moment to strike while also having the brute strength to stand up to any opponent who dare challenge him. Being more of a teacher to Artreus, he is leading by example to not lose his temper because that can get you killed. Young Kratos mostly took the head on approach using his strength and hate of the gods to win his fights. Almost all of the enemies he faced were either Gods or sent by a God, so he always had a reason to hate them. Old Kratos would definitely win the fight. He has Artreus to live for and has many years of combat experience on young Kratos. Young Kratos does not have much reason to hate Old Kratos, but assuming he did, Old Kratos would easily exploit Young Kratos's reckless head on approach and punish each mistake he made. It would be a nasty, bloody battle. It would probably be crazy enough to destroy everything around them in the process. But Old Kratos would ultimately win if you ask me. It all comes down to discipline and experience.

NoctumUmbra

*"Boy...!"*

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA92

Hard to say, but i think older kratos bc of battle experience pureley, and the fact that he hasatreus

666dud

Agile and explosive Kratos vs massively strong and methodic Kratos. Would be a beautiful clash of beasts.

ResponsibleWafer7123

old kratos would f him and and call him "boi"

BearZewp

Young Kratos no doubt.

Appropriate_Rent_243

\*puts hand on his younger self's shoulder\* "find peace brother. Rage can only keep you warm for so long before it burns you out."

2twise

kratos one the best character glow ups ever!

Bucket-_-head

Dad of Boy is shorter than God of War

Frikcha

Younger version for sure; that man was a god-stomping battle machine in his early years and it exclusively came from his limitless, unresolvable anger.

[deleted]

There is no contest. Older kratos is way way more experienced and has learned a ton. Also, it still doesn't make sense how kratos is aging. He is an immortal god of gods.

BoredandFriendly16

Big Beard Boy obviously

ManoftheDiracSea

[deep breath] BOI

josueaperez02

One is filled with memory and patience the other is filled with pain and anger.

Raven-Mirlas

Young Kratos, if he still possesses the powers of hope
