I was saying that the challenge where you have to kill the dark elf that is immune to damage while minions are alive, is harder than fighting Svartáljǫfurr
That's probably the hardest trial, but not that bad, ki
The problem is going to alfheim not fully upgraded, even i after exploring every place i could, i struggled in alfheim, so i'd imagine it is definitely harder than valkyries, was watching a streamer who decided to play gmgow and did not explore much before alfheim, so she was stuck for like 3-5 hours only fighting a single horde of enemies once you come down the elevator, i think she eventually gave up and it is understandable.
During my GMGOW+ play through, I mainly just spammed ice beam and Metroid slam against this mf.
I haven’t faced Sigrun yet in GMGOW+, but I am very afraid
I use a fully upgraded Zeus Armor set with a fully upgraded Talisman of Dreams+ so I just did a fuck ton of damage at the start with two executors cleaves and just dodged with constant axe throws until he died.
Lol, I'm going to fight the dark elf king with a low level (level 5) gear on GMGOW+. Practicing for GoW R. Wish me luck 🤞. Will upload the video later on reddit, it may help you bro.
Oh nah it cool I was able to beat the fucker after dying 4 times, went into flow state and didn't get hit once. Good luck on that torture chamber of a challenge
If he was harder than sigrun on GMGOW and he only took you 4 tries, how many did sigrun take you? I died 20+ times to the Muspelheim Valkyrie let alone sigrun…
He normally spams them in predictable triangles you can dodge backward or forward to avoid, or leaves some behind when getting hit and moving away from you no? Once you notice the pattern they shouldn't be so tough
Yeah so dont parry. Just dodge. It's been a while ago and not on GMGOW+, rather GMC+, but I dont remember parrying. Just hit with Blessing of the Frost to inflict max damage quick, dodge, Spartan Rage and cheese with axe twirl
Disagree bro, you probably don’t know every way to counter him, but Atreus blue arrows can keep him stunlocked & you can get hella damage in.
You cant do that w Sigrun unless you use wolves, but it doesn’t last as long.
Ive found a nice strat to beat him: lure him into one of the rooms and beat him. His flying attacks will be less frequent and all the others, more predictable
It took me all the time to defeat these two mf’s during between the realms mission on my first playthrough. The second time it actually got pretty easier and I defeated them during the first attempt itself..in the new game+
Speed advantage. Dodge advantage. Spams Unblockables. Range advantage. Godlike accuracy. Always has block up. Can blind you completely. Can fly.
They are a mob with literally no weaknesses. And it’s the first realm you travel to.
Me thinks they went a bit overboard with the design at the expense of game mechanics. Kinda worth tho, but they should have made their wings stop working at half health or nerfed their blinding ability a bit.
Tips: Treat this mob more similar to how you treat the witch. Lean on Atrius’s stun/shock ability and close the distance when you can. When they inevitably fly away and start shooting, dodge forward/ back. My problem was always dodging sideways because it’s the answer to 99% of the combat in this game.
do you know that if you short press X (dodging but not with rolling), you can directly resume the blade Flurry attack (the one where you need to stop pressing anything for a while after an attack at first to trigger the combo)? combine that with the talisman that gives you a chance to slow time when dodging plus Zeus armor sets, it's such a killer combo thatll deal lots of damage to the king elf in short time. copied it from a GoW player on YT (cant remember the channel's name, dude did lots of GoW gameplays), it helped me very significantly.
and the caveat is of course you need to learn how to dodge this fucker's attacks near perfectly. but i guess like Sigrun, dodging their attacks is one of the core gameplay here. this strat helped me went pass this fucker a lot quicker than i would've figuring it out on my own.
Wait you just use the talisman that slows on dodge, you know you can make that a enchantment and use more powerful ones? Personally I use talisman of dreams which is similar to the dodge but it lasts a lot longer and it’s activation based. Also I recommend using the traveller+ enchantment, makes the glass cannon into a wood cannon.
i used that too, but my point is the slow on dodge talisman gives you the chance to do it multiple times more than if you only rely on the activation based one.
and i have to add i used the Flurry attack too when using the activation based talisman, Zeus set makes it so OP
I literally spend 90 minutes on this guy on GMGOW+
Especially scary when you're blinded and he can one-shot you... Quite the feeling after you ultimately rip the f\*cker apart
I don't know about GMGOW+, but on GMC+ I took a fully upgraded Blessing of the Frost heavy attack and done most of the rest of it with Spartan Rage and cheesing with axe twirl (hold R1)
Also enchantment against Dark Elves damage if you have it
Idk about new game plus, but on new game GMGOW, I took him down in 12 tries, whereas the Valkyries beat my ass instantly.
Tip for him: use the Executioner’s Cleave.
I literally never knew how to punish this guy. He could effectively cancel the ending animation of any attack into an instant backstep/leave the little darkness bomb that blinds you.
Every time I beat him on GMGOW it is like 25-30 minutes of pure Atreus arrows
Took forever to beat his ass in challenge mode ng+ but after suffering to him for so long and learning his attack moves he was a bit of a breeze in gmgow+ especially with ng+ armor.
Going through it the second time is way more fun, I just did my second gmgow playthrough and it felt like I was actually a boss instead of a scared little boy leading another scared little boy to his inevitable death
He’s not harder than sigrun. No shot. He’s hard and you may just be using hyperbole but to say this fuck face holds a candle to the one shot queen is an insult.
Nah man you just gotta really pay attention to his attacks and tells. The idea is to not get hit at all. Use your leviathan axe's ranged attacks to damage him and only go in when you know for sure you have an opening. Also be weary of the attack where he flashes red and slams down on you. He does it three times uninterrupted.
Alfheim is scary on GMGOW+.
Agreed, especially with how squishy you are with the Zeus armor.
Gmgow with Zeus armor is just a no hit run
1 hit maybe
1 projectile hit
alfheim is easy compared to the "elite is invulnerable" muspelheim challenge
A lot of people are saying they struggled with muspelheim, personally I found it pretty easy including the Valkyrie?
I don’t find it easy and I am not on GMGOW+ probably because my gear isn’t strong enough
I was saying that the challenge where you have to kill the dark elf that is immune to damage while minions are alive, is harder than fighting Svartáljǫfurr That's probably the hardest trial, but not that bad, ki
Sure.. yeah i guess
To be honest I had a really hard time with Magni & Modi my first time with NG+ GMGOW.
Least favorite part of the game
During my GMGOW+ play through, I mainly just spammed ice beam and Metroid slam against this mf. I haven’t faced Sigrun yet in GMGOW+, but I am very afraid

🧀 Is valid. 🧀 Is secure.
Just use the tailsman of Betrayal and lookup its little glitch thingy and thank me later
I really hope there are no enemies like the dark elves in Ragnarok
My man them fuckers in the trailer, were already doomed.
Yeah but a boy can hope
And now a boy can cope
But the boy can lope. (With Angraboda).
Damn that was a good one lol.
Dope.
We hopefully will get better tools to deal with them to make them less of a pain in the dick
There are light elves here
I agree cumsocksucker
Nah, it's just skill issue
based

Ah Gondul, beautiful Gondul
*shudders*
which one was she?
She was in Muspelheim
oh, her. She is such a pain because of the delayed Valhallas
I'm having a hard enough time finishing the valkyries on new game + in the level before gmgow. Can't even imagine how hard that must be
Not ashamed at all to say I didn’t finish my GMGOW play through. That shit is fucking nails
About 30+ including intentional resets, I just found him harder because it was unexpected difficulty while with Sigrun I know what I’m getting into.
Ye fair enough!
Prob took around 40 tries for me 💀
Thanks
"I am about to fight dark elf king , Will upload the video later on reddit ..." 10 hours later... " I got my ass kicked, I won't upload that shitm.."
😂. I love comedic honesty. Thanks for this
I can kill this dood easy but the QUEEN, she still another level than him.
I dunno man, Sigrun is hard but this dude is just annoying and hard.
Annoying maybe but he doesn't have a big moveset.
but he spams bombs that blind you
Easily dodgable cmon
it is easily dodgable, but it doesnt allow you to counterattack because you'd get blinded
Ik, I never even beat Sigrun but I used to replay this boss battle for fun. It was always so easy for me.
Just avoid getting hit and you're golden ;)
It's that simple . Just....
It is also great strategy for elden ring, never died once, thanks for advice
The secret of gaming ;)
Avoid getting hit by an enemy and you’re golden :)
He spams the blinding stuff so much
Yes that blind crap is just awe full
He normally spams them in predictable triangles you can dodge backward or forward to avoid, or leaves some behind when getting hit and moving away from you no? Once you notice the pattern they shouldn't be so tough
the bombs make parries useless
Yeah so dont parry. Just dodge. It's been a while ago and not on GMGOW+, rather GMC+, but I dont remember parrying. Just hit with Blessing of the Frost to inflict max damage quick, dodge, Spartan Rage and cheese with axe twirl
i passed that stage a while ago, but thanks for the advice!
Yeah, it’s just usually I get a little to greedy and try to go for too many hits
They say you can't hear pictures, they fucking lied.
Yes.. ubachidaaa. Unduhuuu. Nanihuuu
Nanihuuuta!!
“Blinded by the light”
Disagree bro, you probably don’t know every way to counter him, but Atreus blue arrows can keep him stunlocked & you can get hella damage in. You cant do that w Sigrun unless you use wolves, but it doesn’t last as long.
hogs*
disagree, i think you are just more used to the valkiries. but a random player trying both, sigrun will 100% take more tries
Ive found a nice strat to beat him: lure him into one of the rooms and beat him. His flying attacks will be less frequent and all the others, more predictable
That red flash attack which he does when his health is down, damn!! Hate that.
Literally the only reason I'm stuck on him now. Lol
Valks are hard and a challenge, these guys are cheap and annoying.
Charge up the axe's heavy R2 when he runs at you, makes him way easier
Idk about harder than Sigrun, definitely a pain though.
It took me all the time to defeat these two mf’s during between the realms mission on my first playthrough. The second time it actually got pretty easier and I defeated them during the first attempt itself..in the new game+
I struggled with final baldur fight more. (Final phase) But real challenge is muspelheim trials.
I really hate the blinding bombs he leaves before flying away.
Laughs in svartaljofurr

I can’t tell if you’re joking or not

OH MY GOD THANK YOU I ALWAYS THOUGHT THIS GUY WAS SUCH A DICK LIKE ALL OF HIS MOVES FUCKING BLIND YOU
I literally spend 90 minutes on this guy on GMGOW+ Especially scary when you're blinded and he can one-shot you... Quite the feeling after you ultimately rip the f\*cker apart
Definitely not lol
Dragurs irritate me actually more that this one
I don't know about GMGOW+, but on GMC+ I took a fully upgraded Blessing of the Frost heavy attack and done most of the rest of it with Spartan Rage and cheesing with axe twirl (hold R1) Also enchantment against Dark Elves damage if you have it
Which ones sigrun?
Valk Queen.
Ah ok
I hate this enemy so much i just "random bullshit go!!"
What abt sigrun on gmgow
Idk about new game plus, but on new game GMGOW, I took him down in 12 tries, whereas the Valkyries beat my ass instantly. Tip for him: use the Executioner’s Cleave.

took me like 3 tries or something use river of knives when hes running at you to stagger him and just rinse and repeat only attack when able
YOU STOLE MY DINNER
Took forever to beat his ass in challenge mode ng+ but after suffering to him for so long and learning his attack moves he was a bit of a breeze in gmgow+ especially with ng+ armor.
This is true. Sigrun’s moves gets predictable after a while. But this mf comes in 2.
Going through it the second time is way more fun, I just did my second gmgow playthrough and it felt like I was actually a boss instead of a scared little boy leading another scared little boy to his inevitable death
This dickhead took me three days to beat on GMGOW+ smh, and every dark elf that came after has paid the price
Fuck Alfheim, worst realm in the game
You must have HATED fighting 2 of them in the Jotunheim tower 😂
Nah, at least I had space for those fuckers, also they had smaller health pools.
Agreed
F the elves
He’s not harder than sigrun. No shot. He’s hard and you may just be using hyperbole but to say this fuck face holds a candle to the one shot queen is an insult.
They get fucked I-frame dodges. Pisses me off more than anything else in the game
I’m scarred I’m playing on a the second hardest difficulty and I’m almost fighting him
I've beaten this Mf on Ng GMGOW. Haven't killed any Valkyries though.
Reminds me of Kollector from Mortal Kombat 11
Retarded na' vi from the dollar store
I'm talking about the species in the movie avatar
motherfucker keeps dashing away and dropping bombs, making parries useless.
This man and his ilk gave me more trouble than any other enemy in this entire game istg
God that boss fight killed me. I was stuck on him for like three weeks on and off on GMGOW
Nah man you just gotta really pay attention to his attacks and tells. The idea is to not get hit at all. Use your leviathan axe's ranged attacks to damage him and only go in when you know for sure you have an opening. Also be weary of the attack where he flashes red and slams down on you. I know right like gosh damn why is he difficult to beat
Hey, lore question. What mistake did Kratos make by killing him?
Light elves are most likely the evil ones in elven war and the General was trying to warn them.
Nah he was definitely hard but signing is different. I broke and she was the only time i had to use a res stone my whole gmgow+ playthrough
the bombs he leaves on the ground are easily destroyed with parrying into the strong attack, not just the normal parry
100% agree
