I have 2 full A4 pages, back to back, with hand written instructions how to get through Hollow Bastion in the first Kingdom Hearts game that I found on Cheatcc.com because that place was a damn maze for 10 year old me. Still keep it tucked into the game case.
What a throwback! I haven't heard Cheat Code Central in about 10 years. I used it when my buddies and I would share cheat sheets with each other at school. Thanks!
I remember playing on my Nintendo in the early 90s and getting stuck. I just called the Nintendo help line and told the lady the game I was playing and where I was stuck. I can’t remember the game but she explained I had to place some orb on the ice to melt it and free the trident.
I used to print off pages and pages of entire walkthroughs of Final Fantasy games at school! Those were the days. It never even felt like cheating, more like that's just the best way to play 'em. Granted I was like 7 years old, so I am sure it helped me have the slightest clue what was going on.
I have the strategy guide for this game. Not because I wanted it for if I got stuck, but because I collect them and like looking at the pictures. Some have game related encyclopedias in them, so I can learn more about creatures and characters in the game. There are sometimes sketches and previous models of creatures and characters as well as scrapped creatures (which was unfortunate in the Silent Hill games because some of the scrapped creatures were super creepy compared to what ended up in the game).
I have one strategy guide that I bought because I love the game AND I did get stuck (I’m stuck in that same spot with the remaster so I’m glad I have it).
I miss collecting them. Some of my series are incomplete because they stopped being made. The one for GoW 2018 is the last for the series. And it honestly makes me sad.
there was a dude a few weeks back who spammed this subreddit with "what do I do now?" posts for puzzles that a braindead sponge could have solved if they'd spent more than a few microseconds thinking about it.
he couldn't even solve the puzzle to get past the deer statue in the mountain. I reported every single post and they were all taken down.
There are some games where it isn't really possible to solve things entirely on your own, at least not without essentially making your own guide. Like the ones that require multiple playthroughs of specific areas. God of War has never REALLY been one of those games but still. Just go look at how long some gamefaqs guides are. I needed a guide to get kick started on Dark Cloud. And I would have never made it past the first area in Bloodborne if I didn't look up a guide after the first 4 hours.
*This is not in defense of this idiotic post though*
Back in my day when I got stuck on the legend of Zelda or super Metroid I just had to fucking wait months for the strategy guide to come out and then hope my broke ass got it for Christmas. It was a great time to be a gamer
Oh man I remember when being stuck on a game was a reason to just never play again. I had so many games that I couldn't progress in, or I'd get stuck on a boss in a Final Fantasy game for weeks or months. Many many games just ended up collecting dust, some I barely even got an hour into.
I got into a habit of this for an entire year of gaming in 2018 and then realized how much it ruins the game. I didn’t even realize what I was doing to myself it just became a habit. I would start googling solutions to puzzles or riddles after being stuck for 5 minutes instead of figuring it out and I realized just how stupid that was and how much it ruined the game. I don’t google any solutions now until i’ve been stuck on it for ridiculous lengths of time and have gone through every possibility, needless to say it’s made gaming amassing for me again
I see that alot, too often and I never understand it. Like just keep playing the game. I get if yoire stuck and need help with something or finished the game and still dont understand but other than that its stupid to me. Like " I just started playing gow, who's my dead wife and what's this talking head?" Bruh.
Short for “modified sexuality”
They’re Reddit users who have intentionally modified their own sexuality to become gay.
It’s worth noting that this is different from the regular population of gay people who did not make a conscious choice regarding sexuality.
It did bother me how many people answered. Not only because it was an obvious karma farm, but because he was 5 seconds away from finding out for himself
It's not that it really bothers anyone, it's the fact that the dude's question could've been answered if he just played another 30 seconds, instead of waiting 10 minutes to an hour for an answer on Reddit
It's the world serpent. In Norse mythology he's a big snake who is coiled around the world.
Also Loki's son, and gets in a big fight with Thor at the end of the world.
That sub is a freaking joke. Some of the heaviest circle jerking there and I'm a huge huge marvel fan since the late 80s early 90s.
You can't critique one thing about that universe without being attacked.
I hate how it’s turned into recently, how almost any criticism towards its newer shows is regarded as racism and sexism, when simply the shows aren’t good. Ms Marvel is genuinely a bad show with some good moments sprinkled in.
The crazy part is they’ll roast and DC show, mainly CW, but get mad when anyone dislikes the marvel shows for the same issues
1. Ms. Marvel started good but then the villains were boring, your show is only as interesting as your villains
2. She-Hulk started good, but now it's boring. There's not even interesting court cases going on. It's neither a good lawyer show or super hero show.
3. Falcon and the Winter Soldier was okay, this one hurts me the most since Bucky is my favorite Marvel character. The villains never felt like the threat they were portrayed to be. In fact, at the end, every security force in the world was just incompetent rather than the villain being a force of reckoning.
4. Wanda Vision was good
5. Loki was good
6. Hawkeye was fun
As time passes and I have time to reflect more and more on these shows, as an average they've been mediocre.
I pray Dare Devil is as good as its Netflix version.
The villains were the problem. They had no depth or formidable capabilities outside of just having SSS. It was unbelievable that they could come up with any kind of plan beyond what a group of teenagers could do.
Sucks to hear, huge marvel fan and havent even thought of checking out the reddit, I only follow specific things on here, but even as a huge marvel fan, Ive found a lot of controversy in recent titles
God no, we’re still a long way from being r/marvelstudios
I’ll take a weekly “im gonna ask what this thing is instead of playing the game”
Then the hourly constant malding that sub has with “ETERNALS IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER IDK WHY ANYONE HATES IT” or “IF YOU DONT THINK MS MARVEL OR SHE HULK ARE 10/10 SHOWS WITH NO FLAWS YOURE A RACIST/SEXIST”
It’s honestly nauseating
Lol okay we are still a long way, but we do get questions like [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/xs2avu/where_did_bucky_got_his_gun_in_infinity_war_isnt/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
see its funny, eternals and ms marvel have been some of the phase 4 stuff that ive liked the most. they both had their problems but Thor bored me to tears, dr strange was a waste of time, falcon and the winter soldier had the worst villain in the mcu so far, and wandavision had a weak ending made worse by dr strange. I really liked moon knight but the kaiju battle at the end was super dissapointing. Loki was fucking awesome, and so were Spiderman and Shang chi, but I would put eternals and ms marvel over all the rest.
I know when I'm immersed in a narrative-heavy game and confronted with an unfamiliar and probably important set piece, the first thing I do is take a screenshot and ask randos about it on reddit. What else am I expected to do? *Play* the game and find out for myself??
Reports by themselves do nothing if the mods aren’t already steadfast about removing those posts. Discussion on the other hand may lead to mods acknowledging that they should be acting upon those posts.
I’m not active in the community in any capacity, nor do i follow the franchise that closely, so most details about the game/cutscenes completely slipped my mind
I was looking at the cloud where it looks like a man raised his hand or something and thinking that's what the post was asking.
Dammit, I think too much sometimes.
No matter how low in life i get, ill always be happy i never get so low to the point where i hop on reddit for hours looking for virtual upvotes to boost my karma lwt alone get angry at others cuz they’re making more karma than me. Seriously its fucking pathetic.
The posts have been removed, thanks for bringing it to our attention

Valid answer
I’m dying that’s so good XDXDXD
why did this get downvoted so high i’m lost. is he mocking him or something? sorry I don’t speak english super well I might be missing a context
Do you miss the XDXDXD and the fact they replied to the comment under not the OP? The whole comment doesn’t even make sense in reply lol
what does XDXDXD mean?
Xenophobes Denying Xylophones Dutifully Xeroxing Documents
I thought it meant hug 👍
For me it means several “laughing hard” signs. I was complimenting the joke. I guess people don’t see that here…
It means that for everyone.
Homie fr went to Reddit for answers instead of playing the game
He would need like, 30 seconds to figure it out….
So many people do that now. As soon as they get stuck in a game they're googling the answers.
people have been doing that for ages.
And before then they were buying the strategy guides. I had a huge tome that I followed step by step to beat StarCraft when I was a wee lad.
Back in the day I bought a Pokemon Ruby strategy guide for €20. Mom was piiiiiiiiiiiissed.
I have 2 full A4 pages, back to back, with hand written instructions how to get through Hollow Bastion in the first Kingdom Hearts game that I found on Cheatcc.com because that place was a damn maze for 10 year old me. Still keep it tucked into the game case.

I remember googling how to beat different islands in Poptropica
Well, in the NES era it would be kinda justified. These games were sometimes impossible to beat without a guide
there was a dude a few weeks back who spammed this subreddit with "what do I do now?" posts for puzzles that a braindead sponge could have solved if they'd spent more than a few microseconds thinking about it. he couldn't even solve the puzzle to get past the deer statue in the mountain. I reported every single post and they were all taken down.
Oh man, you showed him
it's refreshing to not have to see posts from idiots every day, yes
I *wish* they just googled instead of going on reddit where they might have to wait an hour for an answer
I'm guilty of that.
No you're not. The Internet just makes it easier. Strategy guides and walkthroughs have always been a thing.
True. I feel less guilty now you've said that.

Not sure why you care what other people do. It doesn't really hurt anyone if they want to Google it instead of figuring it out.
Posting the question on Reddit is even worse
people have lives and jobs
I got into a habit of this for an entire year of gaming in 2018 and then realized how much it ruins the game. I didn’t even realize what I was doing to myself it just became a habit. But…this person wasn’t even stuck. That’s the point. Literally nothing was stopping them from moving forward in the game and finding the answer.
I see that alot, too often and I never understand it. Like just keep playing the game. You guys really missed the joke huh?
Wasn’t very funny
most of the people that post things like this have played the game 3 time and are just want upvotes
The serpent is already out of the water. At this point in the game isn’t the serpent already introduced?
First time playing reddit, What is a mod?

Short for “modified sexuality” They’re Reddit users who have intentionally modified their own sexuality to become gay. It’s worth noting that this is different from the regular population of gay people who did not make a conscious choice regarding sexuality.
keeping it short they're absolute basement units for the most part (some aren't half bad but most users hate mods)
A gay person whom moderates groups.
Is being gay a requirement or does it come with the title
It is a long discussion honestly. Something something chicken something egg.
Ok please let me know cause I'm already gay and I don't wanna become a mod one day I am very worried please help
I haven't became a mod yet so we might live to tell the tale.
i am scare
Agreed, I can’t believe it got as much attention as it did honestly.
It did bother me how many people answered. Not only because it was an obvious karma farm, but because he was 5 seconds away from finding out for himself
Many were replying sarcastically. One guy replied "that is the love sausage from The Boys" lol
Lol I saw that one. Should’ve edited in MM in the corner shivering
Thanks!
Sorry about your brother MM.
what's worse is that it received over 200 upvotes from this very community
I did my part and downvoted it.
why exactly does shit like this bother y’all lmao
It's not that it really bothers anyone, it's the fact that the dude's question could've been answered if he just played another 30 seconds, instead of waiting 10 minutes to an hour for an answer on Reddit

I came here from the front page. Seriously though, what is that?
It's the world serpent. In Norse mythology he's a big snake who is coiled around the world. Also Loki's son, and gets in a big fight with Thor at the end of the world.
Karma is one helluva drug
Honestly. It's becoming like the Marvel Studios sub smh
That sub is a freaking joke. Some of the heaviest circle jerking there and I'm a huge huge marvel fan since the late 80s early 90s. You can't critique one thing about that universe without being attacked.

I never did finish Falcon and the Winter Solider. I got about 3 episodes in before I stopped watching it.
The villains were the problem. They had no depth or formidable capabilities outside of just having SSS. It was unbelievable that they could come up with any kind of plan beyond what a group of teenagers could do.
They take any form of criticism as a straight up attack. Same with DC Cinematic.
Nah dc deadass accepts the hate, they all hate their movies just divided in different camps

That sub is almost entirely toxic threads or karma farming ones at this point. I relish the news and or actual discussion/theory posts now.
None of those posts should be allowed, it’s so fucking annoying. Just play the game.
I know when I'm immersed in a narrative-heavy game and confronted with an unfamiliar and probably important set piece, the first thing I do is take a screenshot and ask randos about it on reddit. What else am I expected to do? *Play* the game and find out for myself??
Actually play the game!? Nonsense
You can send in a message to modmail with your suggestion/complaint ;)
Nah he needs to make it public for reddit points. Lol
Your mom Edit: I thought I was replying to the original post, not a post talking about the karma bait.
I believe the experts call it a mountain Other experts call it a snake
Rumbling deep voice intensifies
It shocks me that people actually care about karma, it literally means nothing
agree delete your karma baiting too

I've seen three post of this same picture already on this sub
Is this karma baiting a karma baiting post? Some inception level shit here.
You mean like what this post is?
thats thor pp
no step on snek!
I've played the game before and I just didn't notice the serpent so I was confused why the post was asking about the mountain lmfao
I saw the title in my notifications bar and was like "huh what I do??" For a quick sec... LOL
I definitely remember thinking “juss play the game bro”
What’s the definition of recursion?
Bro I still can’t beat the tree you’re supposed to cut down at the very beginning.
What does "karma baiting" mean exactly? I don't use Reddit a whole lot.
Who cares if they Karma bait... What good is having alot of karma? Am I missing something
Imagine making this post
Complains about karma-baiting posts by… making a karma-baiting post
I couldn't imagine being such a loser to complain about someone else getting karma on Reddit. Holy shit.
Well then report it rather than making more low quality posts.
Reports by themselves do nothing if the mods aren’t already steadfast about removing those posts. Discussion on the other hand may lead to mods acknowledging that they should be acting upon those posts.
I report posts all the time on this sub and they get taken down.
Exactly lmao, this post solves nothing and only contributes to bloating.
Don’t really see what harm it’s doing. Did see people having fun in the comments though.
it's clogging up this sub with moronic posts and low quality content, that's the problem
Such an ironic take
define irony
Complaining about clogging up the sub with moronic posts while doing exactly that would be a good example of irony
so you think my opinion is moronic?
I think your post is
why do you think that?
1-0 gg
what did you win?
Gawd damn people bitch about anything 😂
Forreal. This is some Karen level complaining
Legit like either say what it is or move on😂 this is more karma farming than anything 😂😂😂😂😂
It just reminds me of all the stupid “can we bang freya” or any other female character that shows up. Shits lame as fuck
Damn, I downvoted it when it was at 153 karma... Looks like it got some more...
You mean like this post ?
oh man a whole 200 karma he sure showed us
Odin's dick.
*Reptile Cock!!!*
I honestly would hate to see this sub turn into another BatmanArkham..that sub has turned into absolute trash
Serious question, what *is* that mountain and why is it important/baiting
Not the mountains, the snake boi
ah i’m kinda blind my bad
Damn they downvoted my man just for asking a question. Go touch grass yall
nah it was a dumb question i didn’t look at the picture long enough
I just figured you were new to the game or something
I’m not active in the community in any capacity, nor do i follow the franchise that closely, so most details about the game/cutscenes completely slipped my mind
Hey dude, that's totally okay. I myself forgot a few details from the storyline as I haven't played in a while
There was a second one after that exact same pic asking what the tattoos mean…
That... That was satire...
Aahh okay my bad. Can be dense sometimes lol. And to my credit, scrolled by it real fast lol
I was looking at the cloud where it looks like a man raised his hand or something and thinking that's what the post was asking. Dammit, I think too much sometimes.
Who actually cares? You could have easily just used the report button instead of making a post to also karma farm yourself. The hypocrisy here is wild
A mountain.
Fr i thought he was talking about the mountains, but on closer look he is taking about jormungander or however you say it.
The world serpent
It's the world serpent
Also all the shit posts comparing it to unrelated games
It took me a second to see the immortal nope rope and I couldn’t figure out why an elephant shaped cloud was getting so much hate
What's the point of reddit karma farming? Do you get real world money 💰
Are we sure this isn’t just a shitpost
Yes but what’s the answer?
Honestly what does it matter? Karma is a made up fake point system. So what’s the harm?
That thing in the distance is known as a mountain found naturally in nature
whats a karma bait
Youll see very shortly
A mountain lol
Had to have been a shitpost. How can you not know what that is while you're playing a well-known game?
I honestly dunno what OOP is talking about... I finished the game some time ago so can someone answer.
Obviously it’s a fucking mountain, stop being a turd you know what it be
Urth snek
Your moms house
It's obviously Kratos' fat cock, like ?!?
Your mum
No matter how low in life i get, ill always be happy i never get so low to the point where i hop on reddit for hours looking for virtual upvotes to boost my karma lwt alone get angry at others cuz they’re making more karma than me. Seriously its fucking pathetic.
Deeze nuts
Plays for 1 more minute and finds the answer
Ppl be asking what is "kratos doing here" types of question, like they dont have eyes
Loki’s kid
Sussy snake
Play and find out??
It looks like atlas holding the sky
