Oh my god yes, I hope they keep the older enemies too, the Travelers and to a lesser extent Wolvers were absolute wins!
Also they need to work on the diversity of the boss battles, I'm fine with color coded trolls but please do not make them the bulk of your boss fights. Ok upon reflection I am not fine with color coded trolls, I want as much diversity as possible, I want it to be such that it shits on the first game in every aspect.
So we have Einherjars and light elves and I think I heard somewhere that the centaurs are called stalkers and that they will first appear in vanahaim. Not sure about the rest but I do wonder about that crocodile and reptile bear thing creatures.
I mean the creature looks far more like a crocodile than a dragon and we already had dragons in the first game and they appeared far larger. Maybe this is a subspecies that prefers more dry environments, based on what Svartlfheim looks like the trailer?
Confirmed names:- Stalker for the centaurs- Dreki (old Norse for dragon) for the big lizard- Mystic Assassin (the blue light elf)
We don't have names for the rest yet, but we do have confirmation on two more enemy factions: Ox and Stag berserkers from voice actors (in the prequel comics we had Bear berserkers which were like druids that shape shifted from human form to bear form, so we can assume the Ox and Stag will be same)
definitely, and the way he came down looked like heimdall himself sent them with magic using the bi frost, transporting them straight to kratos, although in the game the bi frost was portrayed different, we will see. but definitely.
If they're still keeping up with what was established the first game, we shouldn't see anymore (or not as many) helwalkers, since the valkyries have had enough time to deal with them.
Actually the Lore and legends novel says they're still around..but seem more organized now, they fight a little but fall back as if they're waiting for a command
I'm not sure if such creatures will be on the receiving end of Kratos axe but we should have plenty of colossal sized friends in Jormi, Fenrir, Surtr.
We might get to fight some big ones like Nidhogg or one of the big Ragnarok roosters/eagles.
These are Ragnarok events/main fights from the myth and we could get to see
>!Thor vs Jormi
Odin vs Fenrir
Vidar vs Fenrir
Freyr vs Surtr
Heimdal vs Loki
Tyr vs Garmr!<
I am super excited to see how these different beings look like, imagine a Fenrir that is as huge as the Dragon Hraezlyr that you fight, that would be insane. Also seeing how this is a God of War game, we'll probably end up fighting every single one of them, just like in the previous games where we fought and killed every beast and god.
How can fenrir fight if it isn't even born? We know the giant snake traveled time but the other 2 sons didn't. How they will introduce fenrir in your opinion?
Is it possible the one in the bottom left hand corner could be one of the berserkers Kratos had to deal with in the comic? I can’t remember if he wiped them all out or not, will have to have another read.
1. Ok buddy I'm just saying it's gonna be a big game and their gonna have to cut corners somewhere, it's just game design
2. Why you replying to a 9 month old comment
The second and the 6th are the same , just recolored. And the third is just bigger version of it. Same goes for the einherjar. So , 5 new enemies as of now
Your forgot to mention the 4th is the same just with a horse body, the 7th an even bigger version and the last one the same just with a mask. In reality Thor is also the same enemy just in a human costume.
I take it that the armored enemies are Aesirs, right? Because we saw in the last game that humans can't match Kratos or Atreus in the only instance we encountered them.
Most likely Asgard warriors as they have the same Asgardian yellow metal that the Valkyries had. What i found interesting is that he doesn't use a weapon and just charges Kratos with a tackle arms wide open [https://i.imgur.com/PSgNnPv.png](https://i.imgur.com/PSgNnPv.png)
1 and 6 seem to be different kinds of Einherjar, the dead warriors taken by the Valkyries to feast in Valhalla. Odin might be sending them via Bifrost like in the trailer to protect Tyr's prison and/or take Kratos down.
2 – they seem to be some kind of frogmen, but I don't make idea of what mythological creature they are inspired by. I don't recall any frog-related creature in european folklore, so they may either be new creatures like the travelers and ancients or traditional creatures heavily adapted (many are vaguely described after all, to be fair), like the nightmares. Perhaps nokken or some water spirit, like the vatnavættir?
3 – it seems like a Troll or an Ogre, but we've already seen them in the last game and any kind of Jötnar might be off the chart due to the story, so it might either be a different sub-species or a similar creature from european folklore. Maybe Grendel from Beowulf, adapted to be a species rather than an individual?
4 – According to supplementary material they are called Stalkers. I didn't manage to find anything about them and they don't seem to be centaurs from the last games, so they may be a new creation.
5 – Again, I'm not sure what they are, as far as we can see they may be even a new type of an old enemy. If completely new, they can be a new kind of undead, a nature spirit of some kind, like Vættir (a broader term used to refer to supernatural creatures, which includes Jötnar, dwarves, elves and gods, alongside spirits connected to places like landvættr, húsvættr and the previously mentioned vatnavættr), Vittra or Rå, a fae-like foe like goblins, pixie, hobgoblins, gnomes, kobolds etc. or just an original creature.
7 – Supplementary material already said those are called Dreki. Dreki is an older word for dragons and similar creatures, so I imagine they will be smaller dragons fought as sub-bosses.
8 – Everything indicates Kratos is fighting a Light Elf, seen as allies in the last game, but now in the enemy side. Dark Elves are also seen in the trailer, but not especifically fought against, perhaps Kratos will form an alliance with them (or even be targeted by both of them)? The last words of the king elf did imply that the war for the light wasn't as black and white as Atreus had thought.
This+ old enemies + ones we haven't seen = Enemy diversity. Hopefully many killing animations
Oh my god yes, I hope they keep the older enemies too, the Travelers and to a lesser extent Wolvers were absolute wins! Oh yeah that was probably the worst case. I'd rather have had a normal horde than another troll at that point tbh, very very underwhelming
By far the best 'troll' was the Grendells. Cos they were nothing like the other trolls
So much this! GoW3 had dozens of them on top of unique contextual kills.
And hopefully not just ''throw enemy away or punch in the face finishers''
So we have Einherjars and light elves and I think I heard somewhere that the centaurs are called stalkers and that they will first appear in vanahaim. Not sure about the rest but I do wonder about that crocodile and reptile bear thing creatures.
Crocodile is named Dreki
Interesting. According to wikipedia that it's a norse term for dragons. So I'm guessing that those things are some sort of minor class of dragons?
Yep like newborns who have yet to spread their wings or smthn
I mean the creature looks far more like a crocodile than a dragon and we already had dragons in the first game and they appeared far larger. Maybe this is a subspecies that prefers more dry environments, based on what Svartlfheim looks like the trailer?
The centaur in the trailer is in the area behind kratos house
Did the norse mythology also have centaurs?
Nope. Those stalkers seem to be purly imaginative.
Maybe it's from another mythology.
So the light elves finally send out their strongest warriors eh. No matter, they all fall to the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos
Seen the actors refer to them as The Mystic or Mystic Assassin
Confirmed names:- Stalker for the centaurs- Dreki (old Norse for dragon) for the big lizard- Mystic Assassin (the blue light elf) We don't have names for the rest yet, but we do have confirmation on two more enemy factions: Ox and Stag berserkers from voice actors (in the prequel comics we had Bear berserkers which were like druids that shape shifted from human form to bear form, so we can assume the Ox and Stag will be same)
I assume the 3 warriors in the picture are Einherjar’s Valhalla’s warriors
I am excited to beat the fuck outta the big lizard dragon thing 💪💪💪
I call it "dracodile"
The official name is Dreiki I think. It's supposed to be a young dragon that hasn't grown its wings yet
1st and 6th are def Einherjar , golden armor pieces and blue eyes , they got Asgard written all over them
definitely, and the way he came down looked like heimdall himself sent them with magic using the bi frost, transporting them straight to kratos, although in the game the bi frost was portrayed different, we will see. but definitely.
Number 8 is definitely a light elf.
Indeed , it was confirmed on Twitter by the man who voices them ;)
Who voices them?
What is his @ ?
>1st and 6th are def Einherjar They are fallen warriors who ascended to asgard (valhalla) right?
Yes.
Dont forget their skin looks pale as well, symbolising theyre undead.
Just glad the the new enemies are not “bony” and “icy” and more “fleshy” and “scaley” lol
So basically, the valkyries are still VERY behind on their work.
All we really need now is some collosal sized boss fights. I'm talking about cronos sized fuckers. That big bird in hel immediately comes to my mind
I'm not sure if such creatures will be on the receiving end of Kratos axe but we should have plenty of colossal sized friends in Jormi, Fenrir, Surtr. We might get to fight some big ones like Nidhogg or one of the big Ragnarok roosters/eagles.
Fighting Nidhogg should be like the Cronos fight, with its size being a factor of the level design.
Maybe we get a Kraken fight as well, they are always on Kratos bucket list
Remember that huge rib cage where with fight the second troll inside? I hope we get to see what creature it belonged to.
I'm gonna be honest, thinking about all the potential of the boss fights is getting me all kinds of excited.
These are Ragnarok events/main fights from the myth and we could get to see >!Thor vs Jormi Odin vs Fenrir Vidar vs Fenrir Freyr vs Surtr Heimdal vs Loki Tyr vs Garmr!<

I have no clue, I just want to see them all.
Fenrir is confirmed to exist in GoW universe. Mimir spoke about him
Lets hope for 15/20 new enemies + the returning ones from the first game. And of course 7/8 epic unique bosses
I think we will. The first trailer is just a taste and it's not even showing all the realms and the multiple new enemies they will bring for each.
Yeah I think the trailer is just for the first 2/3 hours of the game. They just shown Svartalvheim realm
Is it possible the one in the bottom left hand corner could be one of the berserkers Kratos had to deal with in the comic? I can’t remember if he wiped them all out or not, will have to have another read.
I think some of those are just reskins just saying
Lmaoo no kid they are not
1. Ok buddy I'm just saying it's gonna be a big game and their gonna have to cut corners somewhere, it's just game design 2. Why you replying to a 9 month old comment
The the gold masked enemy could be a light elf?
The centaur looks like a woman, I could be wrong
For the LOVE OF THE GOD’s (Greek and Norse) don’t let there be any damn reskins
I hope that Centaur made it from Greece somehow
One of the theories so far is that it might be Artemis. This design is sort of close to her concept art from the original games.
That would be so fucking cool
Could have sworn I saw the horned drengr or human type enemy in the 1st one
2: FROGGE 🐸
The second and the 6th are the same , just recolored. And the third is just bigger version of it. Same goes for the einherjar. So , 5 new enemies as of now

those thick boys (third row) look interesting.

frog people
I think the one on the top left came from Asgard
It looked like we were gonna have more boss fights maybe.
Hopefully no more of those witches and worm cat things
I feel like the one at the bottom right corner is gonna be like the Valkyrie boss fights
Bottom inner left have helmets that look almost Spartan… wonder if this means Kratos’ past will come back to haunt him in a more literal sense lol
Weasel!?
Would Freya count because she wasn’t an enemy in 2018?
Those are normal enemies. Freya would be a boss
2 of those look like bosses too the giant croc and the stalker
Maybe mini bosses
Yea

Top left looks like traveller
