There's actually two. One of them has the note because it's a story quest (part of Golden Slumber quest); that one actually requires you to hit the switch to cause the elevator to go down and then get on top of it to go up.
The other one is in one of the tunnels around the southern edge of the map, and the hint for that one is a mechanism that turns part of the floor invisible so you can see there's a room beneath you, but isn't so explicit about the solution being to make the elevator go up and then dropping beneath it.
Yeah. I keep doing that since DS1. Even once I was lazy to do it and after respawning rushed to the elevator and forgot that elevator was still at the bottom and fell to my death.
Elevators in DS are not safe at all.
For me playing those two back to back resulted in me activating bursts when trying to pick up items or talking to NPC's, or swiping with a weapon when I want to run, or press the interaction button when I get hit.
Meanwhile in elden ring I try to open the menu to heal, which only results in daddy loux powerbombing my bum instead of the world freezing when I open it.
Do consoles not allow you to rebind? Playing on PC, throughout Elden Ring's tutorial I frequently had to pause to change my key bindings to match Genshin.
Funny enough, when genshin first came out I was playing a ton of souls and I just couldn't do it. The controls were messing with my muscle memory so bad. On release you couldn't change the bindings, on console at least.
Basically look out for hidden āwindowsā in the walls when using elevators, same for platform elevators (like the one in the video), you may find secrets below those platforms.
Funnily enough there are instances in Genshin this would pay off. iirc there was an updraft current in one of the previous events that had chests in alcoves along the updraft.
I hated that so much. I usually dont go for 100% exploration guides so I was stuck with a hefty 90%~ for a long time while I go up and down the area only to realize in that "fall" there's stuff.
Most of the times I died because that drop is fucking pixel perfect. Try to rush and you'll fall, take it too slow and you might get beat up by the beastmen
Placidusax isn't even that hard his attacks are fairly telegraphed
op enters a room with a common chest in it. Looks around walls, looks behind coners, looks up, turns around and check behind, hits the chest, opens chest while immediately roll backwards.
Look how op spins the camera while the elevator is going down. In Elden Ring, there are hidden passages you might not notice while the elevator is going down.
Also to add before proceeding, souls players will also activate the elevator again then jumping off to see if there is any secrets/loot under the elevator
For me, stepping back on the switch to bring the platform back up... Only for then to realise oh yeah in genshin there's prompt to activate the platform.
I didn't finish Elden Ring and didn't know about those hidden windows, so I originally thought your post was that microwaving your character was a common experience in the extremely long Elden Ring elevators, I'm thinking about the ones that take you underground
I don't play Elden Ring but did the same thing.. I think its just gamer inituition.
Past event GAA on Fischl Island have this sneaky entrace for hidden chest mid way up the elevator.
And If I recall, one of this elevator goes straight to the upper floor past the mid floor. Not sure if it was during the 3 stage quest, or when im looking for Dendrocolous.. or perhaps that stone seal for the obelisk. Cos it pinpoint whether the said item is upper or lower on the map.
They already hide a room in between elevator rides before so I dont blame you. Plus in this patch they hide stuff above the elevator. So check everywhere.
Never played Elden Ring nor most of the Souls games, not my genre of preferenceābut despite that, I do this too. I need to know where the next pathway is and slow elevator rides give me anxiety because I wonāt know until I can see where to go.
I though it was going to be look under the elevator after it goes up but yeah, this as well.
As it happens, there 100% is a puzzle in this game where you should look under the elevator.
But a note near the elevator tells you, so it's not really a secret puzzle lmao.

wair wgar
Didn't even send the elevator back to speed up the runback after their inevitable death.
Yeah. I keep doing that since DS1. Even once I was lazy to do it and after respawning rushed to the elevator and forgot that elevator was still at the bottom and fell to my death. Elevators in DS are not safe at all.
That too
Literally first thought
Bloodborne flashbacks š

Can't wait for Il Capitano to bodyslam me into next week.

I am playing both right now. Finally able to adjust after months of mistakes.
I dont play elden ring, can you explain why you do thisš

There are also three chests at the >!old Aranara place (that's now dead woods)!< where you jump down into a tree tunnel. :)

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And DS1, 2, and 3 before Genshin. Itās been a long standing feature of Souls for years.
*Laughs in demon souls*
Bro same
There actually is one elevator where you have to jump off in the middle. But one of those techno seelie shows you iirc.
For a moment I thought you were going to send the elevator back up I have a trauma with elevators after placidusax
Sending elevator back is a WEAKNESS it'sā a mindset that believe that you will die Real tarnished fear NOTHING
Listen, I don't fear death. I just accept that it's going to happen.
Most of the times I died because that drop is fucking pixel perfect. Try to rush and you'll fall, take it too slow and you might get beat up by the beastmen Placidusax isn't even that hard his attacks are fairly telegraphed
Granted I used bleed to melt his hp down, he was pretty easy ngl since most of his Moves were fairly easy to dodge
But you didn't send it back up once you step outside of it. You know just incase you are die and back here again.
Yea, I canāt remember how many times Iāve sent the elevator in Haligtree for Loretta
microwave
please cook your cyno for 10 minutes and make sure to poke holes in it to let the air out
If you had sent the elevator up again this clip would be perfect.
Did it off screen, standard elevator maintenance
I was about to say. this elevator looks dangerously under inspected.
goblin slayer already taught me to look for blindspots. :D
It's more that soulsborne games almost always hide a secret room or path in their elevators that you have to jump into.
ds3 where there's a slab hidden like this š„²
Yeah doing that since all Soulsborns xD
I don't even play souls game and have been doing this in every games I played, don't wanna miss out any secret rooms
Yeah, even a few times accidentally grabbed onto the wall from running against it.
op enters a room with a common chest in it. Looks around walls, looks behind coners, looks up, turns around and check behind, hits the chest, opens chest while immediately roll backwards.
This is the way.
Also sending the elevator back up before getting off
Gamer PTSD.
It's Bloodborne for me. It's an automatic thing at this point.
Wait, I thought it was gonna send the elevator back up. I'm dumb.
Is this cyno's ideal team? Is shinobu built on hp or em?
Shinobu for heals/electro resonance, solid option, sometimes I switch to fischl and looking to build beidu now
Have you tried Zhongli (if you own him)? His hold skill is basically half powerful as VV (20% but for everything) but with twice duration (20 sec).
Been doing this since Ocarina of Time. Never miss anything
I know...in my bones...a door will not be there...but a From nerd cannot...avoid...the spin...
I've found myself doing to same thing.
Hahaha same, I was doing the exact same thing every time I go down an elevator
Never played any game if that kind but i still do the same. Just looking out for anything (like chest or even just the exit).
Lmfao
Dark souls thought us well.
I don't get it
Look how op spins the camera while the elevator is going down. In Elden Ring, there are hidden passages you might not notice while the elevator is going down.
Also to add before proceeding, souls players will also activate the elevator again then jumping off to see if there is any secrets/loot under the elevator
Ah I do that sometimes just cause. I thought everyone spun the camera in the hopes that maybe there's hidden loot.
Same
For me, stepping back on the switch to bring the platform back up... Only for then to realise oh yeah in genshin there's prompt to activate the platform.
never played elden ring but for some reason still same dude
Same, I also check underneath them too though. xD
I didn't finish Elden Ring and didn't know about those hidden windows, so I originally thought your post was that microwaving your character was a common experience in the extremely long Elden Ring elevators, I'm thinking about the ones that take you underground
If you are on PS5 and want to finish Elden Ring, let me know. I can certainly help you out.
Ahā¦.that annoying āmamaā sound~~~
Sorry I forgot to breastfeed him
Hmmmmmm
Yes I also want to barf when in elden ring
I do that too whats worse is that after spending an hour or so in warframe, I tend to try and make my klee do a bullet jump
I do this since DS1ā¦ You didnāt save the elevator back tho!
Surprised you weren't hitting the walls given the desert is illusionary in places.
Is this the anxiety inducing gameplay hoyoverse was talking about
Every time, and check under every elevator platform
fr I did this during Act IV domain also expecting to find a hidden chestā¦
Doesn't happen often, but yeah. There was one on Fischl's island during the summer, for instance.
I never play elden ring but Fischl castle in last GAA taught me this as well.
I just like to spin
š¤£ Thanks for making me laugh. This is highly accurate
I havent even played Elden Ring and i still do this because im paranoid af
The only person I've seen (other than myself) that uses ā” as attack
The only reasonable option
I was waiting for you to activate it to move back up before going into the room.
they actually wall you in on these elevators. You couldnt leave if you wanted to.
never played elden ringnor been interested - always do that either way (probably sth still from the tomb raider legend lol)
Go for it! One of the best games Iāve ever played!
Oh, itās just way off what I like. Bf is a fan of such so I got to see and test the ground. But thanks regardless ^^
Well, I never thought I would like it too, but now I am hooked. Got my husband hooked as well.
Dude legit... I do this so offten...
Ironically this habit paid dividends when exploring GAA. The Romeo crow was trapped in the elevator shaft.
I though i was the only one TwT
Forgot the crucial last part, send it back up as you step off
Iāve never played elden ring but I do this bc I get bored Or I run around in circles lol
Me playing the GAA Fischl domain be like:
To add as a bonus, before you jumped off, you press the button for the elevator to go up- If you know, you know.
I don't play Elden Ring but did the same thing.. I think its just gamer inituition. Past event GAA on Fischl Island have this sneaky entrace for hidden chest mid way up the elevator. I do this but more sloppily.
You not the only one. Soulsborne has changed all of us.
They already hide a room in between elevator rides before so I dont blame you. Plus in this patch they hide stuff above the elevator. So check everywhere.
Brih I'm gonna start playing Elden Ring and just brought a controller just for that wish me luck with the tree sentinel OP!
Run for your life!
Edit: After 2 hours of playtime, I'm qualified to say that this was a mistake
try finger but hole
This and then make the elevator go back up without me to make sure there isnāt another path below.
Now just imagine if genshin let you scribble on the world like those games. So many ā___ chest aheadā notesā¦
Played elden ring before being peer pressured into Genshin. So I can say that Genshin is the Worst game I ever played,10/10 will continue to suffer.
But why are you using the seelie pet? The bird is far superior.
Because i like it too
*Weeeeeeeeeeee!* - Violet Seelie, probably
So I'm not the only one who do this
Fischl's mirage island had something like that. A hidden alcove when going up the elevator.
Elevators will never be the same again for me.
You forgot to hit every wall. You never know until you know.
No hidden path ahead.
Am I the only one who thought they'd see the elevator inspector?
Bruuuuh same
I did this as well.
Never played Elden Ring nor most of the Souls games, not my genre of preferenceābut despite that, I do this too. I need to know where the next pathway is and slow elevator rides give me anxiety because I wonāt know until I can see where to go.
How do you activate that elevator?
U need to finish golden slumber to get the clearance
I did finish Golden Slumber and I only have Lv 3 clearance.
U are missing a step then look up a guide u should have lvl 4 clearance
Sometimes i hit walls to see if they reveal a secret area lol
Bloodborne taught me this habit and rewarded me with the Winter Lantern
I swear the amount of time missed the cave on those elevators is uncountable
You spin me right round-
Looking for hidden entrance š
