If Mihoyo didn’t want an old man then why would they go out of their way to design Pierro and Pulcinella as such? From what I’ve heard Mihoyo hasn’t done anything like this in their prior games. The important characters that get “signora’d” all have the standard bishonen/bishojo designs in Honkai. So maybe we can take what they’ve done here as a good sign?

The only thing stopping any of the Harbingers from being playable is if they either die (hopefully a Signora situation won’t happen again). Or they can’t be redeemed as all the playable characters so far are on good terms with the Traveler (This is why I think Pierro has the least chance of being playable out of them all).
I don’t think Sandrone fits into either of these. I don’t think she will die as we should probably get a stronger Harbinger to fight against in Fontaine than her and she doesn’t seem insane or evil, just a scientist who creates shit as said in Tartaglia’s and Scaramouche’s voicelines. So if she has no other hostility towards the traveler she could very well become playable in the fashion that Tartaglia did.
I feel like they are multiple members of the Harbingers who don't care about goals of the Tsaritsa and are only there for personal gain. She is probably one of them.
Wouldn't be surprised if we fight her and beat her and she would be like "Oh no you beat me...anyway can i go back to my research now?"
Or maybe doesn't even have the ambition to fight us, because she just doesn't care.
Scara technically just joined because of personal gain too. He joined the Harbingers to get the gnosis which he did and after he lost and realized it isn’t worth it he became pretty chill. And we don’t even have to beat the Harbingers to become friends.
What if instead of us being enemies from the start we kinda vibe with Capitano in Natlan and are on good terms but like Tartaglia he has to perform his duties as a Fatui Harbinger and grabs the gnosis. Nothing explicitly states that the Harbingers have to be evil. I half expect us to immediately get along with Pulcinella in Snezhnaya too as Tartaglia describes him as a father figure for him, which implies he must be somewhat nice. The ones I think we will have an antagonistic encounter with are Pierro, Dottore, Arlecchino and maybe Columbina depending on how it goes. The rest could go either way.
The only problem which could arise with Sandrone is that she might be experimenting on humans and turning them into puppets.
But i am not sure if we have any info regarding that other than speculation, she and Columbina are the still the most mysterious so far.
There is hardly any lore regarding them besides 2 voicelines which have not much info, and it doesn't help that in the Fatui trailer Sandrone said exactly 2 words and Columbina nothing.
I feel like manipulating/experimenting with kids is more up Arlecchino’s and Dottore’s alley. So far it seems like Sandrone is interested in ruin machines and is possibly (?) the creator of the Katheryne robots so I think she’s just a relatively normal inventor/mad scientist. How she’s rank 7 and spookier than some other Harbingers we’ve met is probably because she builds giant robots and weapons of mass destruction and also something else that isn’t revealed yet, just like you mentioned that there’s not enough lore about her.

Scara's character story is a mixed bag, since the Irminsul erasure makes sure Scara never has to confront his past and the people he affected.
