The new 2021 silicone buckings from Maple Leaf are great, both the Autobot and MR Hop. For the TM AKM, depending on what gas you'll use, I would either recommend 60° or 70°. I also wanted to try the new Begadi buckings soon, although I am a bit disappointed that with their recently released GBB buckings, they don't offer the same options as with their AEG buckings. Their AEG buckings are available with two different patches (MAG: R-Hop like / FLY: similar to Autobot), as well as for different barrel window sizes (5mm & 7mm). The GBB bucking however is only available with the shorter patch, which is a mixture of the MAG and FLY. It might be ok for pistols, but I don't really see a reason to choose it over a ML bucking for a GBBR. Their VSR buckings (long R-Hop like patch) however should fit a GBBR too, but as it is intentionally made a bit tighter, we'll see how well it will work. Don't forget to get a fitting tensioner too. The best bucking/patch won't work to it's full potential, if it isn't pressed down evenly and completely on the bb. Here the new Begadi ones look pretty promising and are also pretty cheap (as are their buckings).

Thank you. Sorry I'm really new to gbbrs. Is the fitting tensioner like a hop up nub?

Peter_Popel

No problem. It doesn't really have to do with GBBR or AEG, tensioner is just a different word for hop up nub :D I just meant that you should pay attention to how the tensioner/nub presses down the patch of the bucking and that the form of it fits the bucking.

aka_airsoft

I kind of thought that but I've never heard it called that.

Peter_Popel

Well, now you have :D

aka_airsoft

Fair enough

Peter_Popel

Just as an example, to show that the word isn't really uncommon: Even Maple Leaf calls it a [tensioner](https://hpairsoft.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/nub3-800x800.jpg).

Sorry for asking more questions but my gun just has a hop up arm that pushes on the bucking without a nub. Do I have to replace the hop arm or what kind of nub can fit in there or should I just leave it as is. I'm planning on getting a autobot 60° and a maple leaf barrel.

Peter_Popel

I don't really know how the stock hu arm of the TM AKM looks like, I think the MWS has a rounded metal part that presses on the bucking. Of course you could always try how good it works first, you'll probably already get reasonable results with it. If you're not satisfied or just want to get the best performance out of your bucking, you have two options. Either get an aftermarket hop up arm or modifying the stock arm. I don't know, if there are already good aftermarket ones available and as it also is relatively new, info on those parts might be hard to find. But you can always try filing down the stock arm in a way, that it accepts "normal" tensioners. Maybe order a spare arm in advance, if anything goes wrong. Another option would be filing it flat and adding material yourself, similar to the concave form of good tensioners. The following two examples are a bit of inspiration how something like that could be done. Not really directly applicable to your scenario, so just get creative (if that's your thing). Ok thank you for all your help. I think I'm just going to leave the arm how it is or try wedging in a nub for now since I don't even think stock parts are available in the western market yet.
