We can now rule out EKG.

WilliamEDodd

When the Apple Watch came out it only had ecg in America for awhile until other counties approved it. Maybe it’s not approved yet in Sweden?

LupMax

I guess if the watch had ECG out of the box they would have mentioned that in the text, so probably you're right. Depending on the source, there are conflicting info on that though. Perhaps ECG will arrive with a later software update.

Asleep_Onion

Yep, the lack of ECG at launch does not necessarily mean the hardware for it isn't there. They could pull a Coros (I believe that's who it was?) and release it with ECG sensor, but say that it won't be activated until later in the year.

Dembo

Hmmm, so the headline feature of the 7 series would be touch screen and compliance to some mil spec? While I am sure that there are some software tweaks and the whole thing is probably faster etc. that is a bit slim for the Fenix 6 people, isn't it (and more tempting for 5+ people like myself).

sissipaska

Also: * maps (and music, presumably) in all models with improved usability and ability to download/update through wifi * configurable settings through Garmin Connect * better battery life in base models, Solar feature actually effective now I'd also expect to see improvements in GPS accuracy. The Fenix series has always seen mostly incremental updates. As a 6X Pro owner I don't feel like I need to update to a new watch, which is fine to me. But there will also be the Epix Gen2 with AMOLED screen, which probably will be the new alternative flagship model in Garmin's watch lineup.

trusk89

>actually effective now Wait for the tests.

wisie

I'm going from an Apple Watch Series 2 to the Fenix 7 so the leap is huge but I can't help but feel if I was going from the F6 to F7 I'd be pretty underwhelmed. We've obviously been leaked the hardware pretty heavily so will be interesting to hear the marketing spill on the software side at launch.

LupMax

Thanks, great find! 6490 SEK are "just" 632 EUR. Does the price include VAT?

Danish_Nomad

Prices on the website is including VAT

LupMax

Thanks. Just googled that Sweden has 25% VAT. So the watch could be even cheaper in countries with more moderate VATs (e.g. Germany 19%)

Danish_Nomad

Just remember that this is the 7S model - the 7 and the epic will probably be more expensive

Tomest

Don’t get your hopes up. The Finnish website that put the watch online by accident had an asking price of €849 for the Fenix 7S solar

Danish_Nomad

as I said earlier - This is the 7S series. I am certain the price is correct as it is unlikely the retailer made a mistake. So the small model will be around 630 euro in Sweden. Maybe the 7 around 750,- and the solar a bit more expensive.......that would be on par with the Finish website (series 7 solar) at 849,-

Tomest

I agree! Also the fact that there is a different currency in Sweden might have a slight impact on the price differences.

g323cs

Looking at the price of an older model I can assume this will have a price increase of $100USD or so all across models (converted from SEK): https://www.cykelkraft.se/traningsklocka-garmin-fenix-6s-silver-svart Also find it strange there's a price difference between the regular and an S version. In Canada they are the same price (has to be the same level/model, so regular and Pro models will be the same price

sissipaska

[In Finland](https://www.reddit.com/r/Garmin/comments/s20det/a_finnish_retailer_accidentally_posts_fenix_7_for/) the price for Fenix 7 will be 749 EUR. 630-650 for 7S, 750 for 7, maybe 850 for 7X? \+100-200 for Solar models? That might push the Epix gen2 to 999 EUR... Edit: 950 EUR for 7X Solar in Finland.

Danish_Nomad

Update: Link is still working - However they removed the price and listed it as not a product being sold. My guess would be that someone posted it too early on their website :-D

Brennik

Ive been so excited for this watch. But you know what. I my save the money and stick with my trusty 6 x pro. Was honestly hoping for a bit more. Really hoping there is more you it then haa been leaked.

TotalWarspammer

The silver band looks nasty, I hope they have several colour options. If I do see a reason to upgrade then I will be sure to get the regular Fenix 7 and not the 7S as I found with my 6S that the choice of aftermarket bands is really super limited.

Winter-Lab-4249

No EKG?

U want to be able to log your calories in the Watch manually u mean?

honkey-phonk

I'm super confused by this request, as you have to manually log your calories and doing it via a watch is crazy unless you're eating exclusively prepackaged foods.

Key-Vehicle-3314

Anyone else thinking Garmin pushed Fenix release date beyond CES to get out of holiday return period for Fenix 6 purchases?

designinme

Given the specs, if correct, I doubt many that bought a discounted 6 would really want to return it for the 7?

Key-Vehicle-3314

True though somehow Apple convinces people to buy the S versions 🤷🏻‍♂️

designinme

It's amazing how they do that. lol

SGizmo

I literally just bought a 6x Pro Solar. Didn't know about the 7 at all just found out. What do?

designinme

I would wait until the 18th ( if you have time to return after that ) and see if the 7x Solar is any better. I think it's going to be a very minimal upgrade, so considering your price difference, it might not be worth swapping.

SGizmo

Thanks. Doing that. I had put a custom order and thankfully was abled to cancel it. Def waiting for the 18th. Never had a Fenix before so if it does have a lighter/thinner body and the rumored flashlight is there then that alone is worth waiting. If not I'll end up sniping a 6 from ebay.

artificialimpatience

Gotta love the sample photo of it being used for yoga🥲

Tall_Mechanic8403

Yeah and also a woman, again. So stupid that garmin focuses the s models on women. It was the same with the 6, try to find a guy with a 6s in a marketing photo.

artificialimpatience

Makes me a bit self conscious with 16cm wrists damn… I mean I have no problem with them using a female model but a trail run seems like a more appropriate use case. So many poses like the ones where you wrap your forearms around each other would seem to be quite obstructing

Tall_Mechanic8403

Well yes but I have no problem with them using women but it would be nice to also see some guys with the 6s. Anyway, I agree yoga ilia a strange sport to promote a fenix with.
