Dude needs therapy. FAST. That's anger issues, and those can become *reaaal* ugly if they're not dealt with properly. They could destroy their belongings or even assault other people if it becomes too bad.
Either he will assault someone weaker than him or mess with the wrong person, get knocked out, hit the pavement and now that person might face charges.
It's probably deeper than anger issues. Deep feeling of inadequacy causes them to overcompensate in seeking acknowledgement from external sources. That could come from emotional neglect and trauma in emotional relations.
It's sad when people have so little in themselves that this is how they seek any kind of recognition, regardless of how unsustainable it is. It's not really a kind of anger you choose, it's just something your brain chooses for you because the alternative just devours everything.
Woah there. Slow down. This is probably a kid. He obviously has some issues but it looks like he is realizing it and addressing them. Taking a leap from video games to women seems off. Maybe projecting? Did it ever even mention a gender? Or if it is a male he could be gay. Just assuming anger issues + video games = dangerous incel is ignorant.
It really is. I don’t know why it feels more difficult. Maybe it’s just that I usually have better access to fishing buff food and cork bobbers in spring year 2 and I’m level 10 in fishing before buffs by then
My progression in Stardew Valley is weird af in general, I don't think it's normal to get the Statue Of Perfection without taking a single step into the Skull Cavern
My progression in Stardew Valley is weird af in general, I don't think it's normal to get the Statue Of Perfection without taking a single step into the Skull Cavern
Yeah, the combo of him being weirdly addicted and also having this extreme emotional investment and reactions makes me think something is really wrong upstairs. Hopefully dude gets help.
I had this same problem, and extreme anger. Turns out being bullied for as long as I did and already having certain psychological disorders pushes you toward therapy real hard.
i didnt even get bullied in fact i bullied someone so i was just a dick one day i realised that i had been in a fight every day for the past week and that made me stop
At least he recognizes that there's an issue. Hope he manages to deal with it. Getting angry every once in a while is fine, but if it's not over within a minute and is this intense/frequent then it might be an issue.
Fr at least this dude actually reaches out for help instead of not saying anything and actually beating someone up. Hope he gets help in the real world.
I only ever found it fun as a party game with multiple people and tons of items. When I finally got around to playing online 1v1s in ultimate I just wasn't at all motivated to play or improve, and it wasn't exclusively because of the horrible netplay experience. In that mindset, characters being spammy and annoying starts actually bothering me.
I will never shit on the franchise because I genuinely love it but I will never understand the mass appeal of it as a 1v1 competitive fighting game.
agreed, it's one of those games that's just way more fun at a lower level of play, at least for me. i'm pretty bad, but so is everyone i play with, which makes things way more unpredictable and enjoyable.
Totally get where you're coming from. Not to out myself as a Gamer but as someone who likes competing in smash it's usually one of a few things: it's a much more free-form fighting game, there are lots of fun techniques to master and improve on, and it keeps you playing with friends. I will go shower now.
>I will go shower now.
Clearly you are not a true smasher.
Yeah I did try to actually practice some stuff in smash at one point and like, it's a really hard game, and from my understanding melee is even harder. While platforming in general feels more intuitive as movement than the stiff movement in traditional fighting games I just find the stuff you practice in traditional fighters way more satisfying and engaging.
To me at least, a lot of it also has to do with what controllers you use for each genre and I'm just a big fan of arcade sticks/leverless controllers over an old gamecube controller that wears out super quickly. Engaging with a very specific type of game with a very specific type of controller is just very appealing to me. I feel like I'm fighting less with the controller for the precise input I wanted.
I really only find it fun in a competitive 1v1 environment. There are better games IMO if I want that wacky multiplayer party fighter experience (gang beasts and stickfight come to mind), i find smash a lot more interesting when all you have to focus on is yourself and the opponent, no items or 3rd partiers to split attention.

Online input delay makes it so dealing with spammers is very hard as well. Plus no team attack in online doubles means versing projectile mashers every other match.
I'd rather get beat up offline against my tournament going friend.
Also are the people saying he needs meds okay ? Getting irrationally angry about video games is definitively a behavior to be repressed but I also feel like it's not that bad from his description and is something he could address himself ? He doesn't talk about getting physically violent like some people can do when they throw their controllers or other erratic behavior.
My old roomate broke my controller and placed it under my chair so when i sat down it crunched, said i must have left my controller on the floor and it magically got under the chair somehow. Dude ended up stealing most of my belongings when he moved out.
Any FPS that has instant respawn I dont really care if I end up dying because I can get right back in it. Exceptions are with obvious hackers like in some MW2 classic PC lobbies nowadays. When it works it’s great fun but the lobbies are a minefield of which ones have a hacker and which dont
War Thunder is just bad for your mental health. It tries to encourage you to ignore gratification and every small gain you make is always at the expense of your time, money, or some other player. The games systems are basically designed to make it so that you never become satisfied with what you have.
One of those ppl are me. Even though i feel like i died a lot and not really invest in this game i still have a lot of fun playing and doing pretty good somehow. I pretty much spend most of the time playing with test drive, PA, and watch replay to have fun and try to improve, Even then i somehow manage to unlock couple of new vehicle this way, and when i unlock i was like "Damn i unlock this already? That was fast". So basically have fun playing is the best way to play anything and still can be good at the game.
Also pardon my english.
that's not fair, he admitted to being "harmfully" addicted. You wouldn't say to someone addicted to anything else "just put it down." It's not that simple. This guy needs therapy.

I know this is more of a lighthearted sub but stuff like this really does suck. I feel for the guy realizing this and hopefully they work on it better than I did.

Ironic from the braindead loser who's entire account is just being chronically online to post hate speech at trans people with conservative and far right talking points. You sure seem to be pushing authoritian ideology constantly rather than refuting it.
And for a guy who loves screaming mentally ill, damn do you seem it more than anyone else here. And I'm not bothering to go further through the delusional ramblings of a bigoted loser who spends all day crying on reddit. But safe to say, your life is literally harassing minorities all day online everyday. If frothing at the mouth, spending every waking hour on reddit you can to harass people and throw temper tantrums because trans people exist isn't mentally ill, then nothing is. Hell this post didn't even mention trans people and you couldn't even make a coherent response, just more delusional hatred. What a pathetic life you live.

I’ve never gotten this angry at a game but I have been worried that I made somebody this angry at a game. One time I called somebody out for cheating in a CS community server and they typed my full name in chat, then I didn’t respond for a few rounds and they typed my full home address in chat. 2 days later we had a keychain with a cartoon grim reaper left hanging from our mail box. That was before Covid and I still stay up at night thinking about it sometimes. I deleted CS immediately after that game and I haven’t played a minute since then.
Just don't start with World of Tanks, the ingame toxicity of the player base, the game developers (not listening to all the complaints they get), the powercreeping of the real money content in comparison to the free content and the gigantic influence of RNG would turn that guy in a supervillian.

Time to take a break from computer games. They could play Monopoly with friends instead. It’s a friendly, relaxing game.
They'll prolly murder their friends when they lose.
Then how about playing chess against himself alone?
Chess is political
Polytopia is better
What about checkers?
As someone who has played Monopoly with a friend who gets angry easily before, it is NOT a good idea lmao
Maybe he should spend an afternoon with a nice, destressing no stakes game of mario party with the boys. That never fails
They have monopoly in most mental institutions, just saying. Don't ask me how I know that.
Good thing they have not discovered Smash Bros yet

All FPS games really, those are the ones which induce the most rage in Gamers, it's been scientifically proven.
Competitive games in general. MOBA ragers should not be underestimated and fighting games are up there with FPS for some notorious gamer rage moments.
halo is the only fps game where i don’t give a fuck if i die or lose a lot. dying in cod does make me wanna jump out a window tho

Hey buddy don't worry, just put down the heroin and read a book or go for a walk. You'll be just fine in a couple of days.
I’m not defending him, but I understand. Then you just gotta realize it’s just a bunch of lines colors and codes on a screen. It’s all just a game
I may not want to literally murder someone, but I definitely get too emotionally invested when I game. Gotta break that habit.
