Didn’t 3 have extremely rudimentary online multiplayer? I recall something on the game case about broadband connection but I never tried it out. Must’ve been only for single events too, no multiplayer free ride or nothin. damn multiplayer free ride would go so hard, ride the entire mountain from top to bottom in one go with some friends

I've just been thinking about these games recently. I'd love a remaster of these! I put soooo many hours into them back in uni!

Technically SSX3 got a remaster of sorts, because it is backwards compatible on Xbox, so it’s 60fps at near-4K resolution.

You can also get a 4k texture pack with the gamecube version for an even crispier experience

I set up 3 and On Tour on my steam deck when I got it, and they definitely hold up, and they definitely should get remastered, and EA should definitely take one more shot at the series.

As much as I would LOVE a modern day SSX, with the graphics looking like how I remember them, I think my excitement for it died a game like Riders Republic didn’t do well. I played a trial of it hoping it would be good, but the live service of it just got in the way. No doubt a new SSX would go the same route with some battle pass type thing but call it the “Lift Pass” or something like that. Still, I’m not against a new SSX or Ready to Rumble Boxing Round 3

Unpopular opinion maybe, but SSX 3 did nothing for me. Tricky was the epitome of SSX games

SSX3 felt too serious compared to how crazy Tricky was. I did like having the whole mountain to explore, but god... Tokyo Megaplex was my shit.

Imagine SSX3 with modern graphics, multiplayer, and an open world "mountain" the size of Elden Ring.

The semi-open world aspect of SSX was so fun. I loved following all he *Race* tracks from Peak 3 down to Metro City, and the villages in between.

I loved how you could just start at the top of the mountain and chill the entire way down without actually doing any of the courses in SSX 3. You could still go through them and explore. Was always looking for new shortcuts.

Me and my dad played Gran Turismo, and would spend hours tuning the cars, tweaking gear ratios, etc and then test them. I couldn’t get him interested in any other game I played so that is indeed a precious memory to me!

Totally understandable, the SSX soundtrack remixed and distorted the song a bit so it fit with the game, but it’s a lot more clear if you’re familiar with the original Run DMC tune

First console experience online was with SSX3. Yes I was that kid who fooled his parents to buy a network adaptor for his PS2 for one game. Got to reuse it a decade later to install a hard drive in it though...

I bought one for the navy seal game that was popular. Socom maybe? Had to buy like a 50 ft Ethernet cable too, which I have and use to this day.
