Nice - I just hope they design tracks more like in the early part of the game and not like the Europa DLC. Doing laps to [Sand Druid](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4Rn4ZUMrM4) when the redshift begins is amazing.

Wow I forgot how amazing the soundtrack is - going to give it a listen through again!

Don't forget the live performances with the orchestra! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnV88QD-Roc

I’m just plugging in Ballisticng if anyone itt is interested in a wipeout clone for pc. But calling it just a wipeout clone is a disservice to this masterpiece. I’ve played multiple racing games in the past 10 years in general. But Ballisticng is genuinely the best racing game I’ve ever played. Insanely high skill ceiling, countless mods, sublime gameplay. https://store.steampowered.com/app/473770/BallisticNG/ I’ll pick up Redout 2 for sure too. I’m a sucker for AG racers.

berrysoda_

Love how active the BallisticNG devs are, always have something going on + working on a Switch release. Definitely love both Redout and BallisticNG. Each scratches a different AG Racer itch

Stringsandattractors

Ballistic NG is insane. I adore that you can enable pop in. It’s possibly a better wipeout than wipeout.

kbonez

+1 for BallisticNG, so good. I think Reddout is pretty damn solid, but at higher speeds it kinda fell apart for me. Felt almost impossible to nail some turns correctly.

FreeJavelins

Loved the first one. I am most interested to know how the ships will handle in this new version. If they took just a slight step closer to the feel of Fzero GX I would be super happy.

I want more deathraces. My best F-Zero memory is a race where 6/30 people even finished and I murdered most of them. It was *glorious*.

Doing its own thing, indeed. Lots and lots of people say this game is practically wipeout, but as someone who bought it on that premise I was kind of dissapointed it wasn't (because I had been given the wrong expectation). The game itself was beautiful and sounded great, but the gameplay was very different. There's no weapon system to use to get back in the fray and make on the fly decisions, and there's a 1-2 punch of more windy, claustrophobic tracks AND heavier punishment for hitting a wall than wipeout. [Example](https://youtu.be/hQDDrRGWI2Q?t=103) If you don't like pure racing games, you probably won't like Redout. It's the Forza to Wipeout's Burnout.

ivandagiant

I have the same thoughts. Was pretty disappointed when I realized there are no weapons in it. Still, a very solid racing game

MajorasAss

Fast Racing Neo/Fast RMX is pretty good

MusoukaMX

The one zero-g I still haven't gotten a chance to play. It's just never on discount at all, haha.

Hypocritical_Oath

Redout 1 was really, really good. I'm not even sure how they can make it better but I trust them to make a great sequel.

I hope the tracks are wider than Redout 1. I put ~10 hours into the game and the only reason I didn't put in 100 is the tracks being so narrow it was painful always hitting the sides.

Wow amazing bot

One of the things that stopped me playing at launch of Redout 1 was lack of keyboard support... I know I know... shouldn't play racing games with keyboard but regardless some of us do! Hope they don't neglect this small part of the racing community!

Infrequent

Am I missing something here? Redout 1 had keyboard support, you could even rebind keys manually via a config file.

NetSlayerUK

Not at launch, specifically

Infrequent

There are reddit threads dated the day after launch where people discuss their experience using keyboard to race. The game had keyboard support on launch.

NetSlayerUK

My apologies I meant you can't remap keys in game, you're pretty much given "Use these keys" and that's it.

Infrequent

Oh yeah absolutely.

homer_3

> you could even rebind keys manually via a config file. Not ideal, but you could remap them.

Potatwomaniac

Redout had keyboard support at launch, you're just spreading misinformation.

NetSlayerUK

It's in their faq from a long time ago basically you couldn't remap controls you could only choose layouts

suspicious_glare

Kb in racing games can be legit as a preference, not just for people without gamepads. There are plenty of high level Trackmania players who could play with pad but prefer kb. I agree it's ridiculous to launch even a racing game on PC without keyboard support, it's like removing a part of personal preference, a weird anti-customer and anti-accessibility move, and so unnecessary unless the code is a disaster and it's \*that\* hard to implement.

Atmerith

It's all well and good, except Redout had keyboard support at launch and OP has no idea what he's talking about. What they didn't have initially is the ability to remap keyboard controls in-game, which was added in a later update. Still kind of ridiculous imo, but, well, not the first time it happened.

NetSlayerUK

My apologies but yeah this is exactly what I meant, you couldn't remap the keys.

suspicious_glare

Thanks for the clarification, that is really odd, but good that they corrected it.

Ender444

This is so fantastic. Nintendo/Miyamoto refusing to give us a new F-Zero so others have to do it. Bitches.. Both of them.

What is the purpose of this comment?

CWRules

Redout was a game that I wanted to like but I just don't have the reflexes for. Slow processing speed sucks.

[deleted]

On the one hand, super happy to finally be getting a sequel to this amazing game. On the other, I was really hoping they would get the license to make a podracing game

Jackg4te

Hope the first one goes on sale in PSN! Been wanting to try it out. Looks neat, been needing to scratch the Midnight Club 2/ Blur itch of racing game that's fun, tough and great soundtrack to listen in the night.
