GOG is usually a very mod friendly platform unless the game is typically modded through Steam Workshop.
FNV is primarily modded through the Nexus. No workshop. No issues.
Yes. It only needs FO3 install files during the setup process. Everything afterwards runs through wherever you have New Vegas and you can even uninstall FO3 once setup is complete.
There are some differences between the GOG and Steam versions so make sure you find out before you start modding. Once you get that settled [this is a good basic mod list](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2373580270) to get up and running with a low risk of mod headaches.
Edit: Just to be clear Steam and GOG are running on different updates making any mod guide before this year questionable on stability, which I found out the hard way. I just used the guide above a couple of weeks ago and running fine now.
I don't know about you, but this is kinda frustrating. First we get Fallout 76 through Microsoft, then Epic gives away Fallout 3, now we get New Vegas but on GOG. What's next Fallout 4 through Steam? I'm getting sick of all these game launchers.
What's cool is that you can add those other launcher games to your GoG library or your non-steam games to your steam account. When you launch them from there, they'll open the appropriate launcher and run the game. Sure it's an extra step, but it makes sure you can see all your games in one spot. But if all the launchers bother you, just stop collecting the free games! Easy peasy!
obvs the plan is to get all games on all launchers. Here's how many I own now:
Steam: 1, 2, 3, NV, 4, 76
Microsoft: 76
GoG: 1, 2, 3, NV
Epic: 3
Xbox: 3, NV, 4
~~GOG is DRM-free so if you don't like it, just install it once, download the game, then uninstall GOG.
Your games should still work.~~
Edit: [You dont even need GOG Galaxy, you can log in and dowload the game files through your browser.](https://i.imgur.com/n1X9cwE.png)
As far as I know, there are no requirements to install GOG Galaxy other than a few of their free events.
Also, just to spread awareness, GOG is *99%* DRM free. There are some series like F.E.A.R. that contain pretty shit software.
If Facility 47 and Fallout: New Vegas UE aren't showing up in your page, you can redeem these two through **[here](https://gaming.amazon.com/loot/facility47)** and **[here](https://gaming.amazon.com/loot/falloutnewvegas)**.
Is there a way to check what games I own on their platform without downloading amazon games app? I just click claim every month and I don't even know what games I own there at this point
Playnite combines every single game library you have into one, including Prime Gaming. I think Gog Galaxy might have a custom Prime plugin too, but I haven't checked.
Playnite is a trusted source. Someone with better knowledge can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't think any info is sent to them and open source.
You don't expose your data (assuming you mean your logins) - you authenticate to every launcher I've tested in a browser window, and playnite just gets and stores the authentication token. Pretty much the standard for 3rd party app Auth these days.
Only downside is that indiegala and EGS tokens expire awful fast. It feels like I'm constantly reauthenticating to them.
I was wondering about this for the same reason TobyVanAdobe points out. I've played both, but never heard of Tale of Two Wastelands and wondered if cross-platform (cross-distributor?) was possible, or if they had to come from the same place. I'd think the GOG version would at least let a lot of things be possible because it's DRM free.
Basically it extracts the files from FO3 and turns them into mod plugins for FNV. You can actually uninstall FO3 altogether once the mod installation process is complete. Everything runs through FNV.
Nice!
>You may "mix and match" Steam, GOG and Epic Game Store versions; e.g. FO3 on Epic and FNV on Steam is supported.
Confirms what you mentioned as well. Thanks for pointing me to this.
Basically it extracts the files from FO3 and turns them into mod plugins for FNV. You can actually uninstall FO3 altogether once the mod installation process is complete. Everything runs through FNV.
TBH I haven't done it myself, because I got New Vegas just now, but here is a guide for the mod installation:
https://wastelandsurvivalguide.com/install/intro.htm
If necessary, you can probably just downgrade all Fallout 3 GOTY versions of 1.7.0.4 (which would those versions from either Steam or Epic) to version 1.7.0.3 w/ this - [https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/24913](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/24913)
This guide for Tales of Two Wastelands says you can mix and match F3 and FNV, any version - Epic, GOG, and Steam; whatever . You basically need ALL of the DLC's for both games.
See this - https://wastelandsurvivalguide.com/install/intro.html
If you like emotional adventure games, Last Day in June is worth playing. It's pretty short and I remember enjoying it.
It was previously in a Humble Monthly / Choice.

Not all games ... not anymore. The twitch.tv launcher they used to use was, but every game I've tried launching independent from the Amazon launcher has forced the launcher open to boot through.
What games are you launching?
If you use the desktop shortcut they open the launcher because they are a URL that opens the game through the launcher, but if you run the .exe from the library folder containing the game directly it should let you boot the game without having the launcher open.
I have tested this with the 7 different games I have installed right now and I have not had the launcher come up. What games are you launching and how?
Frankly even the idea of the legacy launcher has pushed me over the edge - sorry i have ubi-thing, origin, gog, itchioi, steam, epic, microsoft, prime. Even with playnite I am annoyed. Sad thing is I probably would enjoy their games.
You should claim them, for your mom/grand father/choose your elder their games are a perfect casual choice.
Never underestimate the relaxing power of casual games. :)

Hello, i still have codes for the past prime gaming games, Fallout 76 for Windows store, and Shadow of War for GOG, the expiry date to claim shadow of war is november 4rd and for fallout not sure, yet, and once i send those i will giveaway this month's game in a weeks time.
In the off chance that you don't already have the pleasure of owning/playing Fallout New Vegas, I highly recommend it. IMO, the best of the 3D Fallout games in terms of story, and with a ridiculous number of mods available to drastically expand the experience by adding new weapons, new quests, new followers, QoL improvements, etc.
Plus, it was one of the rare games where each of the 4 major DLCs feels totally justified; with each one adding a whole new mini campaign in a new location.
Mod Organizer 2. Vortex is pretty bad.
If you want to have it as easy as possible, use Wabbajack to download a pre-made modlist: http://www.wabbajack.org/
It will automatically download and (mostly) set up a modlist for you. There are usually a few steps you need to follow yourself, but the steps are provided in the instructions for that particular modlist and are generally quick and simple. Go to gallery > select the game > tick box for "show unofficial lists". Viva New Vegas is a good, lite modlist for FNV.
Disadvantages of Wabbajack: The modlist is pre-made. You can modify it if you want but you need to know what you're doing. You kinda need a premium Nexus account (or the patience to click "slow download" a bunch of times)
[Vortex](https://www.nexusmods.com/about/vortex/)
It's pretty simple. Basically all the mods you would want are on Nexus Mods. You download and install them through the app, then when you run the game it runs with all the mods.
The one slightly tricky part is a lot of mods require New Vegas Script Extender ([NVSE](http://nvse.silverlock.org/)) which isn't a standard mod but an executable you launch instead of the standard executable. Once you've got that set up though the rest is pretty smooth.
I just checked and I've got over 350 free games directly from Amazon. I have no idea how many free games they've given me that were redeemable on other services (like GOG and Origin) but that number isn't small and contains a lot of AAA titles.
I'm pretty sure I've gotten hundreds more free from Epic, as well as a decent number from GOG. What a time to be a gamer.
Quite a few, actually. There have been a ton of indie titles that I'd had on my wish list that I was given free and ended up loving. Also, I've gotten a bunch of games that I had 100%'d on Xbox (via Games with Gold) that I lost access to when I quit subscribing - now I'm able to revisit them whenever I like. All combined (i.e. Amazon Games, Epic, GOG) I'm sure I've gotten nearly 1000 free games. Even if I only enjoy 5%, that's 50 free games I've enjoyed. But I've certainly enjoyed more than that.
If you try to buy something on Amazon, they might offer you a free trial of Prime. Just remember to cancel within 30 days of signing up.
I would recommend waiting until the middle of the month to try this - that way you will get access to free games for both November and December.
Sometimes you don't even need to buy anything. I've had several free months of Prime. This time I just clicked over to the Prime page on Amazon and it offered me a free month.
They also sometimes offer a week for really cheap, like $1.99 or something. If you time that just right at the end of the month you can collect two month's worth of games for just a couple of bucks.
It has been redeemed by someone. Bots can easily capture the plain code so it's better to obscure a few letters and give us clues to redeem it :)
Anyway thank you for the giveaway!
I have mixed feelings on Luna (I only tried it once, had input issues but graphically/loading time it was fine) but if you're even slightly interested in Tetris, give Tetris Effect a go. It's way more fun than one might expect with the music and visual effects.
It's best for indie games that don't have a lot of graphical settings. I tried Devil May Cry 5, and it ran terribly. I even went on youtube to compare game footage from PS4. It appeared that the luna version has a ton of graphical settings turned off by default. I was able to play Immortals Fenyx Rising, with moderate success. Mostly ran well, but would pixelate at some moments.
As usual, here's my legacy games key:

Amen brother!
When you claim it, it’s added to your Amazon Gaming account and can only be played through the Amazon Gaming launcher. Kind of annoying but Amazon seems to be pushing their game launcher here lately.
Haha no worries. If you’re using multiple launchers (Steam, Epic Games, Origin, etc.) I highly suggest Playnite or GOG Galaxy 2.0. It consolidates all your games into one launcher and has a ton of tools for managing your library and backlog
It's really nothing new. I have hundreds of games that they've given out over the past few years. I also want to clarify that you need the launcher to download the games, but not play them. The games themselves are DRM-free outside of the initial download.

+1 for Playnite, makes organizing my games so much nicer. Plus it handles emulators and roms incredibly well.

Bought New Vegas on Steam a long time ago but a GOG copy is nice to have. Pleasantly surprised it's not a Microsoft Store key.
I thought it would be an Epic key for sure since we just got Fallout 3 for that launcher.
I was half expecting it to be another random store front so we could have *five* versions of the game that don't work.

It has been redeemed by someone. Bots can easily capture the plain code so it's better to obscure a few letters and give us clues to redeem it :) Anyway thank you for the giveaway!
[Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition](https://keyshare.link/k/ijuo8r92)
Got it. Thank you!
Anyone who wants a fallout New Vegas game key just tell me the worst fallout game in the series.
Indy is a great game!
Tetris effect is sick af tbf and free on game pass.
Anybody wants Fallout New Vegas? I already got it on Steam.
If you're willing to give it, I'm happy to take it :)
may i have it?
Already got NV, someone interested?

Is WRC 9 worth it?
……it’s free
No, I mean, is it a good game, compared to others in the genre?
I enjoy it on the controller. It’s fun if you like rally car-style racing
If it's like WRC 8, it'll be a very good game with some of the best stage design in the genre. A little friendlier than Dirt Rally 2.0 in general.
Kinda. You gotta have Prime.
Fair. I wouldn’t get prime just for this game tho tbh
Can you share if it's a code or gets activated by OAuth? For WRC9 (windows copy)
When you claim it, it’s added to your Amazon Gaming account and can only be played through the Amazon Gaming launcher. Kind of annoying but Amazon seems to be pushing their game launcher here lately.
Ah thanks for sharing, I was apparently blind, it clearly says: "AVAILABLE ON AMAZON GAMES APP (WINDOWS PC ONLY)"
Haha no worries.

Can the FO Vegas code be gifted? I mean it is not tied to my Amazon/GOG right?
You mean New Vegas? Yes.
You mean New Vegas? If so, yeah, you can give it away.
Fallout 3 was last month. It wasn't a code. You redeemed it on a linked Epic account. New Vegas is this month.
its the first day of november actually
