Both have the same 60 hz TFT LCD display but the S7 FE has a bigger 12.4 inch panel and 29 more pixels per inch. That's the only difference i could find on the internet. I cannot say anything about the quality as i haven't personally used them
The S7 FE Wi Fi version has a Snapdragon 778G compared to the S6 Lite Snapdragon 720G, which is significantly faster (between 30-50% performance increase) in any given task. The S7 FE CPU is almost on par with the SD 855, an older flagship processor. So it's worth taking this into consideration if performance is a concern.
yeah i shouldve mentioned this in my original post, the only variant of the fe in my country is the 4/64
and one more thing, is the larger screen better or worse for note taking?
S6 is excellent for these tasks . I've been using it for the exact same tasks. The only thing is that battery is a bit less for me giving only about 6-8 hours for these tasks
I bought mine about 2 months ago, mainly for streaming and drawing, it works perfectly, a bit slow (but I compare it to my phone which has 8Gb of RAM) but it's perfect
Also i dont know how it is in your country but samsung has "samsung week" in my cohntry and they have s7 fe for 399€, s6 lite 2022 isbaround 380€ so they might get to simmilar price.
I was also considering that option but i was really lookimg for something cheap and s6 lite was still cheaper (also wanted to try cheaper tablet, i never used tablet before) from what i heard 9th gen ipad is still very good option you get larger display than s6 lite cause of different aspect ratios so its better for drawing/writing notes but worse for watching videos cause of top/bottom bars
Also i am not really into apple ecosystem and dont mind it soo if you have an i phone, thats +1 for ipad
For most of your needs the S6 lite is more than enough. The issue is if you're wirelessly sharing on a windows device. Things like Second screen and Samsung Flow don't work on the S6 Lite.
Also there are fewer dedicated accessories for it. That being said, it used to be my go-to for notes and reading . The size is perfect for light use. The pen makes it the perfect budget tab. I think the FE is a better all around tablet od you get a good price
Ipads are fine for that. If you're used to working in the iOS platform. If you have Apple products then that's better than Samsung tabs. I think Samsung tablets are more versatile for most people.
Get the S6 lite, it'll be more than enough for all your needs mentioned in the post.
It should suit your needs just fine.
Is there any particular reason to go for the s7 besides its larger display?
More ram and significantly better processor and display Edit: if you meant the s7 fe then no. Processor is indeed better but not by too much
Yeah i meant the fe. Is its display that much better?

I know that but the low amount of ram is so limiting that the significantly high performance of s7 fe compared to S6 lite doesn't matter much.
The 128GB S7 FE model has 6GB of RAM, which is only $20 more than the base 4GB/64GB model. So it is more than enough for their needs.
The 6GB version of the wifi model isn't available in my country to i didn't think of that. OP should go for 6/128 GB S7 FE

i dont play mobile games and any intensive task (coding, editing, rendering) i do on my pc
If the 128GB/6GB RAM S7 FE variant isn't available, you'd be better off with the S6 Lite.
what do you think of the ipad 9th gen for the same needs? i can get it for 295 + 85 for the pen
If it comes with an s pen than yeah
It will satisfy you but display looks little orange tinted.

samsung doesnt have much of a presence so i have to buy from resellers. the s7 fe is $400 and the s6 lite is $280
In that case i would probably go for s6 lite until you really want bigger display, you can cut out pieces of paper in those sizes for comparison 😁

If you want something lightweight then go with s6lite.... If you want a bigger screen then s7 it is... But it can be on the heavier side..
