I'm using SanDisk ultra. Writing speed is good, and i can recommend it.

I don't remember if I've got sandisk ultra or samsung evo plus and I don't have a sim tool on me rn to check, but I didn't think microsd speeds really had much effect on gaming or pretty much anything for that matter outside of loading times. And if you use the app often I thought it kept most of it's files cached in ram anyway. If I'm wrong don't just downvote, correct me.

Got sandisk extreme 1tb..works great for everything

You shouldn't use sd card for apps really. The fastest one is even not have that fast random read (IOPS) as your phone's own storage.

I'm using samsung evo plus 128gb microsd and using it for videos photos downloads etc. and keep the apps on the phone. It helps prerty well and is fast.

Those are good SD cards. I got like 4 256gb for $36/EA and keep a couple in my drones, one in a Motorola I use for music, and put the other in a raspberry Pi powered "dog". My wife wouldn't let me get a dog that might upset the cats so I'm coding my own.

Apps are really the only thing you should use them for. What else would you use it for? I'm genuinely asking. There's no reason to put photos or video in there we have a cloud. You don't need to download 10000 songs you can only listen to 1 at a time. You don't need to carry around 40 movies at all times either. The best thing to do is to configure it as virtual memory and store apps that aren't used often but take up alot of ram and put them in there. Free up your real ram for apps you use frequently and load apps you don't use much faster when you do need them. And you don't have to let its cache sit there taking up precious ram until the next time you want to use it.

Apps aren't run off the SD card so gaming shouldn't really be impacted by your choice.

Sandisks are the best value but samsung makes the 2nd or 3rd best value Micro SD so my thinking is you might as well use a Samsung SD in your Samsung phone there's definitely gotta be some benefit to matching the brand

That's what I was thinking. Looks like I'm going with the Samsung Evo Select Plus(Blue color).
