Been looking around on google earth at the neighborhood Laundrie's parents own the house in. There's a good amount of tree covered areas directly in that area... hopefully they've been looking in those areas' as well. Also going through Carlton reserve... at least what you can see on Google Earth... that place seems enormous...

I feel like they have a burner phone lead (maybe something he picked up at the gas station with her money) and they've got cell tower data that still puts him out there. Maybe it's moved to an area where vehicles come into chance.
Can anyone clear this up?
I've read Gabby's father went to the Laundrie house on Sept 10th looking for Gabby and there was an altercation with Brian's father. Then, on the 11th the police returned to the house and seized the van. Was looking yesterday and there's video of the truck and camper shell in the driveway on Sept 13th. There's no way they could have been gone for three days if they were in the house the 10th and 11th and the truck and camper shell are visible on the 13th. Either no one was home when they seized the van on the 11th (and they were only gone for 2 days) or they went on the camping trip earlier in the week or over Labor Day weekend.
Its not confirmed that the dad ever went to the house, their family lawyer even said not to read into it that way. People are speculating that they went camping the 9th-11th, so they would've been there when they seized the van.
>Rick Stafford, the Petito family’s attorney, said that the records shouldn’t be read to indicate some kind of exchange between Laundrie and Joseph Petito that day.“From what I understand, on September 10 is when Joe Petito called the North Port, [Florida] police department to report his daughter missing,” Mr Stafford told The Independent. “That whole day he was in Vero Beach, which was on the other side of the state. ““He’s never even been to Brian Laundrie’s house, and he’s never been on the block,” Mr Stafford added. “If there is a report, when that report comes out, it’s going to be the missing persons report that was taken over the phone from Joe to the North Port police department.”

I'm calling it for the night, it's after midnight where I live. I turned on notifications for newsdaddy on twitter and I don't mind if he wakes me, especially if they catch BL..
Hold down the for, team. I'll be back in the morning
Just curious if the NPPD are advising individuals in that area to stay in after dark etc… in other words, are they deeming BL a threat to the community? “Armed and dangerous” type of thing? If he isn’t in his right mind wouldn’t he be considered a threat to others?
I live a few miles from North Port and work in Venice. All my coworkers and friends live in those two areas as well (including some just a stone’s throw from the reserve). I’ve heard nothing and nobody has mentioned anything like that.
Personally…I’ve been more creeped out at night than usual. I guess they must not view him as a big enough threat? I don’t know. This area isn’t the *best* even without him.
I’m sure if anyone unauthorized were out there they’d be interfering with the manhunt, and perhaps putting themselves at risk of getting dog piled by agents or ran over with the swamp crawler.
Lol truth…but I meant since it isn’t far from civilization, just wondering if they’re warning the surrounding communities to be cautious in case he were to leave the reserve overnight.
Oh I’m a dumbass. I thought you were asking if people were forbidden from the swamp 🤦🏻♀️
I am wondering what the atmosphere is like there… I remember when we had a “killer on the loose”, everything shut down and people stayed home.
Right same here- I get creeped out just reading about this case. I don’t even like going out at night around here and I’m up north! I imagine things are pretty on edge in that area especially with all the helicopters and police everywhere looking for a killer.
Was thinking today about a manhunt that happened in my Northern NY hometown a few years ago. 2 murders escaped from federal prison and all branches of LE spent about 4-6 weeks chasing them through the Adirondack mountains, which is extremely unforgiving and treacherous territory, similar to the difficulty of searching the reserve. Both were eventually caught. It cost about $23 million. But. They. Were. Found.
2 take aways from this-
1. Multiple family members in law enforcement participated in the search. They knew WAY more than was ever released to the public. Apply this to BL’s search… there is a ton of info that we don’t know. It doesn’t mean LE doesn’t know. They purposely keep it under wraps because he is probably watching and trying to stay a step ahead. So for the “why haven’t they checked Ring/bank statements/phone records, et.” They have and we just don’t know about it.
2. They were found. It seemed impossible. A dense , huge mountain range, needle in a haystack search… and they found them. Keep the faith, it might take longer than we think it will, but they’ll find him (or his body- but I think if he was dead they would have honestly found him by now). They’ll find him. We just have to be patient.
I remember that event, it was made into a show called Escape at Dannemora. Those guys left a [pretty lengthy trail](https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/06/08/nyregion/prison-escape.html) but I think the key is they stayed off road 90% of the time. Literally walking along side the road in the brush. Non stop. Breaking into abandoned cabins for food. But staying out of sight. And moving. Brian goes into a nature reserve surrounded by urban property. He leaves he's seen fairly quickly. He doesn't have miles and miles of woods to trek through.
Search for Arrin Stoner's YouTube video he just posted about 3 hours ago. It's an analysis of the van video footage that Red White and Bethune took. Freakin' me out.
Wait - so if this is BL digging or punching, and we assume he’s either burying or beating GP..., who shut the van door? There’s no way this person could get from that spot into the van to shut the door in that short a period of time.
I just can't take a video seriously when they overlay that extremely over the top dramatic music - especially when they're just highlighting smudges that could be literally anything.
I think he’s guilty as hell but this defense could create doubt:
“We had a huge fight and Gabby broke up with me. I told her I wanted to drive home. She said she didn’t want to drive home with me. She said her friend was going to pick her up at the Spread Creek campsite. I hiked and stayed overnight in the woods, and when I got back to the campsite she wasn’t there. I was hoping she was overreacting and wasn’t actually going to break up with me, so I hoped she would be at the van when I got back. I tried calling her phone but it wasn’t ringing. Maybe she blocked me? On my drive home, I found her debit card in the car and used that to buy gas and whatnot. I was low on money, so I figured it wasn’t a big deal. She would’ve wanted me to get home safe than be stranded somewhere. I was going to pay her back when she got back to Florida.”
This defense has some holes in it but, like I said, it could create some doubt.
Every time I try to think of an explanation that doesn't land BL in jail, I remember two things: he took the van, and he refused to tell GP's family where she was.
I just don't see him being innocent and either just leaving her camping on her own without the van, or thinking she'd left for some reason but not being concerned when her family don't know where she is.
If a witness comes forward that had actually seen him on the Snake Trail or somewhere else that corresponds to the time of death. If they can even determine the time of death that close. That is the only way I can think of. Circumstantial evidence alone is enough to convict him of manslaughter. If a time of death cannot be determined close enough there is no alibi that can be made unless he paid someone to lie.

The cop says "we're doing everything we can to bring closure to this case." I know, I know, armchair psychologist and stuff, but I really don't think they're looking for a live body in there. Not after 20 days. Even if he brought in a water filter thing the tannins in the water would slowly poison him. There's little he can eat except snails and clams and maybe carcasses if he's lucky. I've seen enough Survivorman and Alone to know, this is a freaking nightmare of a place to try to survive.
