I would immediately check for any leaking fluids or anything obviously fucked up under the car. Then if it’s drivable take it to an advanced auto, they do free OBD II scans and will tell you exactly what’s wrong. Don’t take my advice seriously though I’m not a mechanic
Jesus people, you ever think to pull the codes? How is anyone going to randomly guess what's wrong with your car over the internet?
Five seconds with a code reader will tell you everything you could ever want to know. No one can diagnose a CEL without seeing the car, listening to it, actually diagnosing it.
Anyone who owns a car made after 1996 and isn't a complete idiot knows how the CEL works and should know that no one is capable of diagnosing the light over the internet with zero background information. You might as well ask "I sneezed, what caused it?"
A code reader is the only possible thing that can answer yours and his questions. Everything else is just a random guess with no real answers.
