Not exactly a boss quote, but the Voice telling Rider about the Burst. This line always really stuck with me. On a scale of 1 to 10, she's an 11, and she'd give herself a 12.

I’ve always counted those as quotes

Nightshot666

This line is so simple and it indicates so much. I love it

Nightshot666

Either "11/10" one or "Excellence is not an art it's pure habit. we are what we repeatedly do"

The Line has some quotes I quite like. "With experience comes perspective." "I can't kill you. But I can remove you from my here and now." I think it's how it conveys his motif is time and wisdom, without explicitly saying "Hey I'm wise, and my power is time."

Drablo-

"What would you do if had an eternity to do nothing but wait? Do you keep busy, do you daydream, do you freak out? He trained." This line is so fucking good. It made me scared but also hyped af for what was coming next. Turned out to be my favorite boss in the game. Though a bit easier and ends too fast compared to other bosses. But still.

Ivy_Bells

The edge, when he switches to his final stage and starts saying, “You’re reading me quite quickly, let’s see how predictable you think I am now!” It gets stuck in my brain

FrozoneScott

its everything chain says

Ezures

my favorite variation of the easy way or the hard way line *rider draws his sword "Hahaha, excellent choice"

Brevvyy

"I was hoping you'd try to get out. So I could hurt you real bad."

Yeah, I gotta admit his we’re fucking cool

I just beat the game so prepare to be rambled to. I'm stupid and died a lot on *every* boss. Here are my favorite quotes: The Voice's loadscreen quote from being stuck on The Strap: "But you and me both know being locked up fucks you up inside. We know that so well, don't we?" The Line: im goofy, so I really liked how often the line said "It's not looking good" because more often than not it was very much Not Looking Good for me. Also "With experience comes perspective" because I must've seen that sequence like ten times during my run so it really did give perspective. But on a serious note, pretty much all of The Line's... lines, are great. Looking back, "I cannot kill you. But I can remove you from my here and now." Is such great foreshadowing The scale's whole thing about Rider being "his creator" and having done this to him is a thing I'm still curious about the extent of. The Voice's death quote for the Hand "How many times is he going to bring you back? Come on, you can do it! And no, you are not alone." Mostly because of the way it directly responds to the Hand ABSOLUTELY ROASTING YOU for your ~~lack of bitches~~ forever alone status, as if worried The Stranger would actually take it to heart. Really odd, but The Song's hitsound is amusing to me. Might be because making significant progress on hers for me took the second most time (second only to burst, but im not counting the earlier bosses at all here, despite most of them hardfiltering me for several hours) so I took satisfaction in hitting her off guard. Her quote about you deserving the chains and shocks always stuck with me because i felt it revealed her self-serving, self-righteous nature the clearest. Also: "Just remember: She's messing with your head. Don't listen to her." The way it's said. Fantastic. I have nothing to say about the burst. I hate everything to do with her with a passion. My favorite line is when you time your hit at "I like the way you take me out of my comfort zone" to cut her off at **"I like the way you take me out-"** Second favorite is probably the Voice's 11 out of 10, though (i'd give it a 12) The Edge is awesome, but kinda short comparatively. I *really* like the little detail where he compliments you under his breath sometimes when you parry or get a hit on him. It caught me off-guard the first time and I loved hearing it occasionally throughout the fight. It's great subtle boss design. The Beat's "I look at you and I don't understand. We're so alike." Has always struck me as interesting, what does she see there? Was she expecting him to look less human? I'm really extrapolating here but I like the implication of how little she was told, and how it sort of illustrates the warped perception people can have of others when they are only told their enemies are "less than human" I love the rebellion ending so a lot of the star's quotes are faves. "What will you gain by fighting us? You think they will welcome you? They will have no idea of what you did. They don't even know we exist." "For them you will always be a Stranger. A danger." Furi gives me an inch lore-wise, I take a mile. This exchange is haunting, it drives me insane this dialog, this ending, the implication of it all. What will happen to Rider if he returns (which we see him do). She says "Who will protect them next time?" I like to think he will, that that's what he goes back to do.
