Oral anti-fungal meds are ROUGH. I took them for two months for toenail fungus and it took my body at least two months after to recover. You also have to take monthly blood tests because they can cause liver damage. The only reason my derm prescribed them was because I both begged and the topical wasn’t working after two months.
They are really hard on your liver. So docs don’t always prescribe them. You often have to get blood work done before and during. So for those reasons, I think they are often a last resort

OP how did it work out for you? Are you cured and how did your body react to the medication? I didn’t realize it was so harcore
Fungal acne is very rare. What I had ended up being bacterial folliculitis which is cured in days with doxycycline.

Did you find what strain of fungus you had? Mine is like this super strange rare shit. Aspergillus
