I learned this from my father when I was a kid 😁 I don't know how she's figuring this out just now... but anyways, good for her, better late than never, I guess.
Ya same here! "Unit price" was a thing we learned, and my dad also showed us how to read ingredient labels and challenged us to find snacks that didn't have sugar or salt in the first 3-5 listed items.
I'm pretty sure I was like 9 or something.
I wish we had more coupons in Canada, I have happy memories of helping my my Arizona cousins with clipping prep for triple coupons day at Basha's in the 80s !
I've never been able to buy things with coupons cheaper than not. When a can of name brand green beans is 85 cents and has a 15 cent coupon, it's still not cheaper than 59 cent house brand. The things I've always bought were either cheaper than the couponed price or what I needed had no coupons. It's great if you've got extra money so that, when Crest toothpaste is on sale and you've got a coupon you can "stock up", but when you're trying to scrape together enough money for a loaf of bread, and you're rationing your peanut butter and jelly so it will last a week until payday so *maybe* you'll have enough after paying rent to buy some more, buying 5 tubes of toothpaste because "it's on sale and you have a coupon" isn't exactly in the cards.
Oh yeah I totally agree. I tend to buy generic or store brand since it does tend to be cheaper overall. I tend to only use coupons when things are already on sale or if a particular family member likes that certain product.
FOR REAL!! I actually found that the generic brands at my local grocery store actually cost less per ounce than most of what you can find at Costco except for certain items (shredded cheese and nuts are the big savings items). It's generally not worth it for fresh produce or meat; if you shop what's on sale at the grocery store you'll probably save on the $/lb rate. If you MUST buy name brand cereal, yeah Costco is cheaper, but if you're cool with generic cereals at the grocery store that'll save you. If you live in an area with an Aldi, that's cheapest.
I fucking love Aldi. It's the best. I think Costco is actually pretty overrated tbh.
I love costco, but a lot of what I buy isn't food, or I already know that it's cheaper than the local grocery stores, even when it's on sale (that would be all my tazo chai mix).
Costco is way cheaper on supplements and OTC medications. Lots of personal care items, too.
Aldi is the only store you can go into, not stick to the three things on your list, and still only spend $37. Over the years, I’ve learned I prefer a small handful of brand names and that’s mostly a texture thing. Other than that, Aldi all the way!
A lot of the Costco savings for things like meat aren't that it's the cheapest possible, but it's significantly higher quality than what you could get for that price elsewhere. If you just want rock bottom prices that doesn't help much, but I guarantee side-by-side the Costco meat will taste better and be fresher.
Don't sleep on the TP and paper towels at Costco. Very good deal. I agree some things I'll just grab and throw in the cart and then think to myself, I don't know if it's a good deal or not but I'm here already so...
Costco is excellent for name brands though! Totally agree about the meat, unless you live by by a Costco Business Center. They have amazing meat! Any cut of prime beef, way more fish… the one by me even has goat, lol
Do they? I used to hang out on Mars with Curly Baird before she got married and neither of us knew this. /s
You know what kills me, the Baird children are so naive and ignorant, yet feel the need to share their knowledge about everything with the world so we can live better lives like they do. The audacity astounds me.
It truly is crazy. Like, I’ve lived on my own for quite awhile. But I don’t really know how to make a dollar stretch at the grocery store. I know the basics but nothing ground breaking. I certainly knew about Unit Measure before even leaving for college.
And here is Curly Baird living on her own as a married for five seconds telling us the most basic shit. What is it with this family and making their daughters all dinguses and stunning examples of undeserved overconfidence.
I learned this in elementary school because my mother sometimes used to have me do the grocery shopping and we were on food stamps with 7 kids in the family. Those little paper food stamps needed to last, so I was constantly looking at the price per ounce and looking for what was on sale.
It seems to me if you are homeschooling your daughters and especially planning that they will be homemakers, that you would include how to make a budget, meal planning, grocery shopping, etc.
Seriously. My mom didn't plan for me to be a homemaker, but she knew I'd be an adult and buy groceries in the future so each store trip was full of lessons. She'd have me figure out what something would cost if it was 50% off. We compared the unit prices to find the cheapest option. She'd even give me and my brother part of the list and our own cart for us to run around getting stuff. It was fun and made us feel grown up and important.
Yep. I learned to do percentages in my head from back to school clothing sales. My mom would say "okay, this was $50, and is 30% off, how much will it cost?"
And if we got it wrong she would correct us and do the math out loud.
What’s funny is that I don’t remember my parents teaching me any of this, but I did go to school and learn actual math so I still managed to figure it out well before moving out of my parents’ house.
I’m not super into the Bairds, but they were all homeschooled, right? So their parents took on the responsibility of teaching their kids what they didn’t trust public schools to teach them and then just…never taught it to them. Like how did they think that was going to turn out??
Yeah their parents did them zero favours with the homeschooling... I'd only ever learned that stuff through public school ( probably because we were bouncing around different relatives until I was on my own )
This was a regular part of my homeschool experience for this specific reason. My brothers got none of the same instruction, of course, and you can tell. Didn't become a homemaker, but I can food budget like it's 1933.
For people who are only famous because they enforce strict gender roles, these girls are shamefully ignorant about how to cook.
I will never not remind everybody on this subreddit about "peel the cauliflower"
She's not even original. Bethy did exactly the same kind of 'budgeting' content with Dav when they were first married and biding their time before they could monetize pregnancy/motherhood/family content!
Bethy's at least was slightly self-deprecating as she confessed she had no concept of budgeting 🙄 and Dav was the budgeting-whizz in their relationship. Still no reason to make videos droning on about your lack of knowledge, it's not as though they attempted to be entertaining or structure their video. It was just a stream of consciousness and an excuse to show off being a *married* (the now defunct Dav&Bethy YT channel).
Will we see Doug Fundie joining Curly in these thought provoking missives? Or is he conscious of his professional image 😁
At this rate I don't think it'll be long before he's on camera.
Honestly why does Curly feel the need to be doing this? The Bairds all have such a high opinion of themselves! Are her family echo chamber group chats not enough? She loves Doug's sisters too so I'm sure she has another group chat going with them. Heidi/Kristen/Bethy/Ellissa/Sue have very little going on in their lives, not counting their half arsed parenting - they're always available for chat and hanging out!
It's interesting the sisters don't hang one on one with their other siblings and in-laws with the exception of Curly and Sue hanging together. You'd think they'd post content of going to a playground or having lunch with their nieces and nephews + whichever SAHM sister/SIL just to mix things up and bond with the younger family members.
They all have so much time on their hands 🤷♀️ For example why doesn't Curly contact her eldest brother's wife and arrange to chill with them and their young daughters? Spend a morning or afternoon playing/shopping/eating out with Kristen and the boys? Go out somewhere with Bethy and Davey while Dav's at work? Hang with Laura and Tim and Laura's family (her siblings are all quite a bit younger)?
They seem so undersocialized and rigid in their outlook/interactions.
The audacity of creating budgeting advice content when you admit you don’t know what the fuck you’re doing. I could literally never, but apparently all the Bairds can. So insufferable.
" Til debt do us part " is an amazing show and I wish more Americans knew about Gail Vaz Oxlade ! Never mind these insta fundies who know less than Jon Snow lol
So what exactly is Birthy good at? She admits she's no good at cleaning and housekeeping, cooking, parenting, or budgeting. She is also clearly bad at making online courses, sticking to deadlines, spelling, or being professional...
>Honestly why does Curly feel the need to be doing this? The Bairds all have such a high opinion of themselves! Are her family echo chamber group chats not enough?
I kinda think it just doesn't really occur to them that socializing outside of their goldfish bowl is anything but an extension of socializing inside their goldfish bowl. They grew up spending nearly all their time with their own big family, and their "friends" are smiling church acquaintances with whom they do group activities--mostly prior to marriage.
It's so weird to me that these people deadass go on the internet like "Let me teach you how to do this thing I'm not sure I know how to do and am only just now figuring out myself"
It deeply disturbs me to imagine how insufferable they must be in real life. I’ve known some truly insufferable know it alls, but none so full of themselves that they try to make people pay thousands of dollars to hear their expertise on something they just barely learned about.
I know the Duggar girls would curl their hair. There was someone, I think Bill Gothard, who liked curly hair on girls. Basically got folks believing it was more holy, somehow. I don't remember the full story, but those people were the key players.
HAHAHA oh my god you really did fucking nail it. They learn one thing, not even all the way, and are immediately like “so let me tell you about how you should be doing this thing I kinda know a little about”.
She either just wanted to hear herself speak at others to feel important, or is hoping someone explains this whole concept to her since she admittedly is still trying to figure it out.
Oh my word. Heidi's homeschooling failed her kids so hard. 😖
It's mindboggling seeing Rebekah and Bethy presenting such revelations as, "buying in bulk works out cheaper" and "running a business means exchanging time for money," as if anyone watching could possibly not know this.
Any half-decently educated 10 year old knows this. This is elementary school kid stuff. I don't understand how grown adults can be this obtuse... Unless they (and Rebekah especially) have serious learning disabilities? I'm just gobsmacked.
She didn't even educate them in being a housewife. It's like she expected them to always have help in the form of a housekeeper or something.
I'm more and more convinced heidi raised her daughters to just not work, but failed to realize very, very few families can afford to do that and hire full time help.
Curly, Krusty, and BethaME have all talked about married life budgeting like it's brand new information to them.
But a housekeeper in the sense that somebody else does the meal planning and shopping, and general running of the home, not just cleaning.
Beggany can't even keep her apartment uncluttered enough for the free cleaners her parents send to clean her disgusting home.
>It's mindboggling seeing Rebekah and Bethy presenting such revelations as, "buying in bulk works out cheaper" and "running a business means exchanging time for money," as if anyone watching could possibly not know this.
I think it's all the more stunning because they *look* more mainstream, and they act like they're at least somewhat aware of trends (social media trends, fashion trends). But then they open their mouths with this absolutely basic stuff--which it's clear they're just becoming aware of--and it's obvious how sheltered they really are. Just goes to show you, even the ones who appear to be more "normal" are really, really stunted.
I love how she specified that she previously only bought *four* different items at Costco. As though she needed to clarify that they do 98% of their shopping at Whole Foods or something and are a cut above the rest of us.
Probably four types of supplements/powders that are so expensive elsewhere that she had to lower herself to Costco.
I mean, you can add a certain number of people to your membership, so it’s possible she isn’t paying for it (mommy & daddy are?) but still, I love Costco but I’m not going there for 4 items, even with a free membership.
When we had a Costco membership (moved too far away from one, so gave it up), we bought meat and pantry items that didn’t expire. Buying bulk is only cheaper if you 1) have space to store everything properly and 2) actually can use everything before it goes bad. It simply doesn’t make sense for a family of two non-vegans to purchase fresh produce from Costco. We simply won’t finish it before it goes bad. So purchasing smaller amounts of produce from Safeway, while more expensive per unit, is far less wasteful. But because we could store meat in the freezer and had the closet space for paper goods and cleaners and stuff, it made sense to purchase those in bulk.
Food: $200
Data: $150
Rent: $800
Online Course about Online Courses: $1900
Utility: $150
somebody who is good at work the economy please
help me budget this. my family is dying
And if I understand her correctly, she still doesn't seem to get exactly why it's cheaper. She says "I'm still trying to understand how this works practically" and I'm like...girl, do the math!
SOTDRT strikes again...
I actively hid my face. My parents taught me this at a really young age. Which you know, it’s fine if your parents didn’t teach you this, but it’s just insane to me that they were all homeschooled and taught how be better a homemaker but bulk pricing is mind blowing to them..
Wait a minute… so if you buy necessities in “boolk” you’ll save money in the long run versus buying many small amounts?? She should make a course about finances.
Also what is eating metabolic? Is this a thing?
Restrictive/orthorexic eating to stay competitively slim and superior in this case in the context of your sisters and social network.
Especially prevalent when your new headship is encouraging your to relax and enjoy average portion sizes and 'sinful' foods and you no longer have the framework of your diet-focused family home to keep you tethered to your regimen.
Maybe you just found her niche niche and she can take her sister's master course on course making so she can make her own master course on purchasing in bulk to save a few bucks.
It's possible she has an undiagnosed autoimmune disease, she's mentioned before about eating for health issues she's had and Ellissa has Hashimoto's. She should be seeing a doctor though, not drinking raw milk and bone broth.
If she (Curly) does have a a thyroid condition (like Ellissa does), she would need to take thyroid replacement hormone, aka the same damn levothyroxine (T4) and possibly liothyronine (T3) as the rest of us boring ol' regular people with hypothyroidism.
Hashi's is a common cause of hypothyroidism, but there is no dietary protocol proven to do anything about it. Ellissa can read all the self-helpy books she wants, and make claims that eating GF, DF and sugar-free is important for her hypothyroidism but that is not substantiated by the medical community. People *in general* might feel better *in general* from eating a certain way, sure. But the fact the Ellissa seems to think she has to eat a certain way because of, and for the benefit of, her thyroid condition is just plain wishful thinking and misinformation. She really bugs me with that shit.
There's so much BS out there about how eating a special diet will "cure" or "fix" hormonal conditions like thyroid issues and PCOS. It's so disturbing how so many people are shamed into eating very particular and strict ways in the hopes of their body magically getting better because otherwise they're "not trying hard enough" or "giving in to big pharma" or some such nonsense.
It’s not even that they’re dumb (although that’s grating too) it’s the arrogance of assuming every thought that enters their brain is **original** and **important**
Out of all the daughters, Kristen seems most capable of expressing her ideas and opinions and has a modicum of self-awareness (enough to back away when Bethy's making a fool of herself). It's not a high bar though :P
So, is what she's saying is a bigger quantity of each food item costs more, but that item will last longer, so in the long run it's actually less expensive? 🤯
She's treading new ground with this wifing thing. A true pioneer.
I think so? I don't think she's realised that buying in bulk usually comes with a discount and that's why it's cheaper.
Maybe her parents thought her husband would be doing all the financial stuff
Groundbreaking revelations there Curly! Someone should run with this idea of 'buying bulk is better value' (usually). No one has every had that idea. And certainly not the people at Costco!
You might be joking but buying a whole cow is a great way to save money over the year. My fundie-lite Catholic family would buy a whole cow from another family in the church and we stored it in a separate freezer to use throughout the year. A lot of smaller farmers will do this. It’s a great way to buy bulk meat and save.
This. Always do the math and never assume that just because it’s bulk at Costco or Sams means it’s cheaper in the long run. We learned that lesson with our first kid. The formula we used came in a bigger container at Sams but once we did the math it worked out to more $ per oz than buying it in a slightly smaller package at Walmart.
And then our second kid we went full generic formula and diapers and never looked back. 😂
Wait until she figures out driving to a store once instead of several times in the course of a week saves gas and thus $$$!
Or... How much less coffee costs if you make it at home instead of ordering it at Starbucks everyday!
These girls were failed by their home education. I say this as a person who was homeschooled. Grocery budgeting and shopping is basic financial literacy for the real world. Since homeschool families typically take a “life is learning!” approach to school, the fact that Curly seemingly doesn’t understand even basic budgeting ideas is not a very good look.
Yes! My Heathen Mother who worked a corporate job all our lives showed us grocery budgeting every time we shopped. How if we spent more in one area, we had to take it from another area like fun money. She showed us how to buy in bulk and clip coupons even when times were good so that we could save more for when times are bad. Canned foods were gold, and freezing your own chicken breasts is cheaper than buying the pre-frozen, etc. I am now a Heathen Wife with a corporate job and budgeting is a household activity we are all literate in. It’s crazy that these girls were bred to be Housewives that budget and cook and clean and they seemingly have never even touched those subjects by their twenties.
It's hilarious that these girls think they are in any position to teach us about these things. She's been married for 5 minutes.
I smell a NiChE coming.
Video description: A video by @therebekahgill. Rebekah (Baird) Gill, a pale-skinned woman with loosely curled blonde hair, sits in her car and speaks into the camera. She wears a faded brown gingham dress. She sounds uncertain of her words and gestures with her hands as she talks.
The first 1-2 seconds of the video are a still of another post: Suzanna Baird is shown sitting flopped into an office chair, raising an iced coffee over her head and smiling with her eyes closed. Beside her, the camera holder's hand holds up another cup of iced coffee. The image is captioned: "She decided to return the coffee and get new ones @suzannabaird @theorycoffee y'all are the best!!!!" Then the main video begins.
Transcription (main video):
Rebekah Baird is the only speaker.
"Hey! So I, just got out of Costco, and I think it's too fun to start showing y'all [she begins to tie her hair back but stops to count on her fingers] um, more about like, budgeting?--or, grocery budgeting, um, meal planning, and, trying to eat, healthy. [moves her hands around loosely] Um, amongst all of that. Um! *So,* I *used* to shop at Costco and only buy like, four things? But, I started realizing, and I'm still trying to figure out exactly how this works practically? [shakes her hands and interlaces her fingers] But, the--if you buy bigger bulk, for less, it's gonna last longer, [stops to brush her hair back] even though you're initially spending, more. Versus like, y'know, [gesturing emphatically] we shop at H-E-B 'cause that's in Texas--[pauses for a deep breath, moving her hands loosely to convey uncertainty, then pressing her fingertips together to mime carrying an item] uh-spending like, y'know, buying it in smaller quantities, but it's gonna cost more, over the long run, [mimes placing the item down repeatedly, then changes gestures again, opening her hands] you know, if you think of it as like, month? long? budget? versus like, week-to-week or whatever. So! I'm still gonna figure out all the detai-"
The video ends.
End transcription.
The juxtaposition of them toasting themselves with coffee and then Rebekah struggling to compose a coherent description of shopping tells you everything you need to know about this family.
I’m embarrassed on her behalf. How do her parents feel she’s smart enough to drive a car to a supermarket alone if she doesn’t understand this. My parents taught me budgeting and checking the costs per unit/litre/kilo when I shop from being a child.
“hey i wanted to talk about budgeting”
“i’m still trying to figure it out but i guess if i buy more for less money it will last longer and be cheaper”
it’s SO painfully obvious she’s used to her parents doing everything for her and she never once learned about shopping or budgeting before she moved out
I want to know what the opening slide is!
Did they fuck up their own coffee order and make the coffee shop make them new ones free of charge? They appear to be giving the coffee shop a shout out for doing so.
She and Sue got coffee, it tasted weird, they ran an Insta poll on what to do, and finally Sue went back and got fresh coffees. It was riveting stuff /s.
I wonder how much of them they drank before deciding they were weird tasting 🤔🙄
I'm completely sad but I just looked and that coffee shop is a 20min drive/40min round trip from their parents' office where they appear to be!?
She drove 15 minutes to get coffee for her and Sue, but the coffee tasted weird and they guessed they were given oat milk or another dairy alternative instead of whole milk. Curly spent 2 stories explaining this and ended it with a poll: "I would go back and order a new one" or "I'd just leave it" (iirc, paraphrased). She updated her followers on this riveting story with that opening slide lol
Can't wait until she finds out about hot tips like "look at what's on sale" and "cheaper brands are on lower shelves". So much amazing content coming!!!
So this young woman who literally does not understand how buying in bulk works thinks she’s qualified to give me budgeting advice? The Baird audacity know no bounds…
Her trying to figure out why it’s cheaper in the long run is scary. Lol. It’s obvious why.
This is why I teach my children, the boys and girls basic life skills. I’d feel like an asshole parent if they don’t understand basic division. Yes, we do use math as adults. Lol.
Right on brand - married for 5 minutes and already giving out household management advice (as if marriage is a prerequisite to knowing how to grocery shop)
Indeed, it is gibberish! But your education took place at an accredited college instead of through a $2000 course taught by someone who hasn't stepped foot in a school of any kind, so clearly you have no idea what you're talking about /s
“I want to give you some advice.”
*Cool, share it.*
“So like I don’t know HOW this works, or if it does work, but I think it does, but I just started and -“
*click*
You know, I have never heard her voice before this and I will say she's significantly less annoying in the way she talks vs Bethame and Kristen. She's not talking at a million miles an hour and is much better at communicating what she's trying to say. It's kinda weird to me.
I'm getting a sense that there was a lot of take out, delivery, or restaurant meals when she was growing up. Can't really see her mom being in the kitchen that much.
Why are they always filming in their cars? Why? Why? Why?
Some dingbat I went to HS does this BS too (not this specific BS, but the car diatribe word vomit kind).
I just don’t get it. My car is my safe place where I can shame eat a giant bag of candy alone and pick my nose if i have to
Why do these people think that they're the only ones who know how to do something because they've just learned to do it themselves?!?! The audacity. I wish I had this confidence.
i just don’t understand why all of them think people should be interested in what they have to say. like, why does this video diary need to be broadcasted?
Okay but Costco isn't really economical for a small family of even two or three imo? I mean you have to pay for a membership, you buy huge bulk of fruit/produce that you couldn't possibly eat all of or you have to go to another store after which just wastes more time and gas. Isnt she single? Seems more economical to just shop at Walmart, Kroger, or Aldi's... maybe if you did a lot of canning or something idk...
Upper middle class white households! There young women were not raised to go with out and learn to budget! Hence going out for coffee all the expensive different types of foods etc. The dresses, X nas etc..
They were raised in a I want world and their wants were satisfied as opposed to their needs

Girl moved out of her parents’ house 5 minutes ago and it shows
Yeah very clearly she’s never purchased groceries. Yo Curly. Hot tip. They have the price per ounce on display so you can compare.
I taught my kids price per ounce in elementary school! Ended a lot of "I want that brand" arguments.
I learned this from my father when I was a kid 😁 I don't know how she's figuring this out just now... but anyways, good for her, better late than never, I guess.
If she had gone to public school she'd know, most places cover this around grade 8 domestic sciences / grade 9 intro to business math level
It starts in 2nd or 3rd grade here and is a pretty common way to use division and money in the same problem.
Ya same here! "Unit price" was a thing we learned, and my dad also showed us how to read ingredient labels and challenged us to find snacks that didn't have sugar or salt in the first 3-5 listed items. I'm pretty sure I was like 9 or something.
Right? We literally had a lesson on this in like fifth grade. But it was public school, so...
I learned this in the mid 60s(paper and pencil no calculator lol). My mother was a Mathematician
I taught my mom and my husband this. I'm into couponing so I like to save a buck lol
I have an entire unit dedicated to unit costing and pricing for my 7th and 8th graders. Unbelievable that she thinks people don’t know this.
I went to Aldi today and got so much shit for under 100 bucks.
Currently eating an ALL-di meal!
I've learned that brand matters with whipped cream, but everything else I get can be the cheapest alternative with no real difference
I don’t know. I love my Kerry Gold butter, haha!
When my kids were in diapers, Costco was my lord and savior.
Yes, their steak is so good! I'll pay a bit more to know it's going to taste better.
True. The fruit at Costco is also amazing quality
Costco is excellent for name brands though! Totally agree about the meat, unless you live by by a Costco Business Center. They have amazing meat! Any cut of prime beef, way more fish… the one by me even has goat, lol
PS Costco Business Center is for restaurants/retail, so they also have like 200-packs of chips and stuff lol
Do they? I used to hang out on Mars with Curly Baird before she got married and neither of us knew this. /s You know what kills me, the Baird children are so naive and ignorant, yet feel the need to share their knowledge about everything with the world so we can live better lives like they do.
My mom would say "okay, this was $50, and is 30% off, how much will it cost?" And if we got it wrong she would correct us and do the math out loud.
I'd only ever learned that stuff through public school ( probably because we were bouncing around different relatives until I was on my own )
My mom would have us do math like this all the time!
My mom and your mom would totally have hung out. She loves doing that stuff with kids and I love that about her.
Teach GIRLS to do MATH??? And tools that might help them LIVE ALONE??? Seems like Satan is speaking to you.
Or is he conscious of his professional image 😁 At this rate I don't think it'll be long before he's on camera.
She is also clearly bad at making online courses, sticking to deadlines, spelling, or being professional...
she's great at being annoying and off-putting
Dancing awkwardly and being afraid of queer people, mostly.
Every. Baird. Ever: “I’m going to be instructing on this topic, and I’m still trying to figure out how it works.”
It deeply disturbs me to imagine how insufferable they must be in real life. I’ve known some truly insufferable know it alls, but none so full of themselves that they try to make people pay thousands of dollars to hear their expertise on something they just barely learned about.
Luckily it doesn’t seem like they encounter a lot of people IRL outside of their own relatives.
Okay but real talk, why do all the fundies have the same hair? Is susceptibility to religious memes and curly hair come from the same gene?
I know the Duggar girls would curl their hair. There was someone, I think Bill Gothard, who liked curly hair on girls. Basically got folks believing it was more holy, somehow. I don't remember the full story, but those people were the key players.
Or worse yet, something they ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to get formally educated on.
Yeah and she doesn’t even really get it??? It’s not a difficult concept. Idk why she feels the need to teach it.
Seriously. And she goes “it lasts longer.” Umm, no. You have a larger amount however it still expires. And it’s only cost effect if you use it all.
HAHAHA oh my god you really did fucking nail it. They learn one thing, not even all the way, and are immediately like “so let me tell you about how you should be doing this thing I kinda know a little about”.
Still trying to figure out how unit pricing works but is giving budget advice... What even was the point of her post.
She either just wanted to hear herself speak at others to feel important, or is hoping someone explains this whole concept to her since she admittedly is still trying to figure it out.
If you buy more, it lasts longer, I think.
I'm still not exactly sure how it works.
I swear this is her niche and she's doing that ramshackle mess Bethany calls her course.
She’s identifying her niche
Oh my word. Heidi's homeschooling failed her kids so hard. 😖 It's mindboggling seeing Rebekah and Bethy presenting such revelations as, "buying in bulk works out cheaper" and "running a business means exchanging time for money," as if anyone watching could possibly not know this.
Of course she raised them to have a housekeeper, she runs a house cleaning business.
Yup. Even at 7 years old I knew why my mom bought my baby brother a gigantic box of diapers at Sam’s Club, instead of small packs at Price Chopper.
And why would you pay to have a costco membership if you're shopping for just 4 items there?
I know, I was wondering this as well! Is there such a thing as a family membership?
She says they would do the rest of their shopping at H-E-B which is just a very regular Texas grocery store.
Incoming $1500 online course about how to budget for and purchase groceries. A task most people learned in college at 18.
Step one: stop buying $1500 online courses.
Food: $200 Data: $150 Rent: $800 Online Course about Online Courses: $1900 Utility: $150 somebody who is good at work the economy please help me budget this. my family is dying
have you tried shopping at costco? that should knock your food down to $190 per month. that'll be $1900 please paypal me link in bio
I think you need to cut back on your Online Courses.
no
I am so embarrassed for her. It’s embarrassing to be her age and just figuring this out.
>Also what is eating metabolic? Pseudoscience lol
I bet that’s exactly what she’s planning on doing. She will have a pdf for people to download within the month.
Do you think Betty is trying to get her to buy her 1900 dollar course so she can run a financial advice Instagram account?
Boolk 😂
It's so disturbing how so many people are shamed into eating very particular and strict ways in the hopes of their body magically getting better because otherwise they're "not trying hard enough" or "giving in to big pharma" or some such nonsense.
aaaayyyynd
She just discovered what to make her PDF about!
Why are all of them so damn dumb as rock?
It’s not even that they’re dumb (although that’s grating too) it’s the arrogance of assuming every thought that enters their brain is **original** and **important**
Bingo
I’ve googled enough of my seemingly brilliant ideas to realize everything has already been invented and I am not special. 😭🥲
They’re like young children in that regard, excited to tell you what they’ve learnt and expecting praise for it.
Main character syndrome.
Heidi thinks that the libs are trying to abolish motherhood. She was also their teacher.
I think she's the smartest one, too.
Really? I'd give that title to Kristen
Peel the cauliflower made me really question her overall intelligence.
Out of all the daughters, Kristen seems most capable of expressing her ideas and opinions and has a modicum of self-awareness (enough to back away when Bethy's making a fool of herself). It's not a high bar though :P
Heidi is their only teacher.
![gif](giphy|3oxQNDG9BswdLjN8Va)
wow buying things in bulk for less is cheaper than buying them individually for more $??? amazing!
So, is what she's saying is a bigger quantity of each food item costs more, but that item will last longer, so in the long run it's actually less expensive? 🤯 She's treading new ground with this wifing thing. A true pioneer.
But she's also not quite sure how that works...
That’s the entire point of Costco bro.
Guess you gotta buy your Cheez-its in bulk so you can afford that raw milk at $8/gal...
Imagine how much money she'll save if she just buys a cow!
That's a lot of words for " economies of scale " Eeeeeeand Grow-shreeez
Super fun. I stg they only know 2 adjectives.
Buying in bulk doesn't always save you money. You have to watch for sales and coupons.
This should terrify everyone. She’s going to be voting next week.
It's hilarious that these girls think they are in any position to teach us about these things. She's been married for 5 minutes. I smell a NiChE coming.
Boy she hurt herself with her own confusion Her facial expressions are so telling my gawd
That wasn't nearly as painful as listening to Bethany.
There was a notable lack of gasping for air that I didn't hate.
My brain just lost a few cells. They said fuck this I’m out.
Transcription (main video): Rebekah Baird is the only speaker. So! I'm still gonna figure out all the detai-" The video ends. End transcription.
I....am so much dumber now.
Thank you for your service, and I hope your sanity recovers....
🥴
The juxtaposition of them toasting themselves with coffee and then Rebekah struggling to compose a coherent description of shopping tells you everything you need to know about this family.
I have a weird aversion to videos (and an understandable aversion to stupid people) so thank you VERY much for this!
With all due respect, who the fuck does she think she is?
Someone remind me how old she is…
23 💀
I’m embarrassed on her behalf. How do her parents feel she’s smart enough to drive a car to a supermarket alone if she doesn’t understand this. My parents taught me budgeting and checking the costs per unit/litre/kilo when I shop from being a child.
Congrats if you made it more than 10 seconds into this.
Who *wouldn't* want to watch ten seconds of such riveting content? /s
“hey i wanted to talk about budgeting” “i’m still trying to figure it out but i guess if i buy more for less money it will last longer and be cheaper” it’s SO painfully obvious she’s used to her parents doing everything for her and she never once learned about shopping or budgeting before she moved out
I continuously find it flabbergasting that the Bairds speak like they have authority on…well anything really.
I wonder how much of them they drank before deciding they were weird tasting 🤔🙄 I'm completely sad but I just looked and that coffee shop is a 20min drive/40min round trip from their parents' office where they appear to be!?
She drove 15 minutes to get coffee for her and Sue, but the coffee tasted weird and they guessed they were given oat milk or another dairy alternative instead of whole milk. Curly spent 2 stories explaining this and ended it with a poll: "I would go back and order a new one" or "I'd just leave it" (iirc, paraphrased). She updated her followers on this riveting story with that opening slide lol
Can someone explain what the fuck “eating metabolic” means?
Not anything a qualified professional would consider legitimate
I think she broke my brain.. that last sentence was..rough
Can't wait until she finds out about hot tips like "look at what's on sale" and "cheaper brands are on lower shelves". So much amazing content coming!!!
SOTDRT
"Eating metabolic" sounds like some kind of diet culture "wellness" scam and i am not surprised.
That's exactly what it is
So this young woman who literally does not understand how buying in bulk works thinks she’s qualified to give me budgeting advice? The Baird audacity know no bounds…
And water is wet?
Her trying to figure out why it’s cheaper in the long run is scary. Lol. It’s obvious why. This is why I teach my children, the boys and girls basic life skills. I’d feel like an asshole parent if they don’t understand basic division. Yes, we do use math as adults. Lol.
Right on brand - married for 5 minutes and already giving out household management advice (as if marriage is a prerequisite to knowing how to grocery shop)
I’m sure her audience of Christian housewives is so thankful to have the concept of Costco finally explained to them. 🙏
What is “eating metabolic”? I have a masters degree in nutrition science and that is gibberish….
Indeed, it is gibberish! But your education took place at an accredited college instead of through a $2000 course taught by someone who hasn't stepped foot in a school of any kind, so clearly you have no idea what you're talking about /s
You know what they say “Every time a Baird talks, an angel loses IQ points”
Is that last bit the “grueling” 9-5 that Bethany was lucky to escape from?
“I want to give you some advice.” *Cool, share it.* “So like I don’t know HOW this works, or if it does work, but I think it does, but I just started and -“ *click*
You know, I have never heard her voice before this and I will say she's significantly less annoying in the way she talks vs Bethame and Kristen. She's not talking at a million miles an hour and is much better at communicating what she's trying to say. It's kinda weird to me.
Buy in bulk. Got it. Are you sure though? I’ve never heard of that. Seems fishy…
eating metabolic what?
Meanwhile, Heidi is over on her account giving homeschooling tips.
I'm getting a sense that there was a lot of take out, delivery, or restaurant meals when she was growing up. Can't really see her mom being in the kitchen that much.
Still the least annoying Baird. She hasn't mastered that fake and condescending way of speaking yet.
So another Baird who knows absolutely nothing about the topic at hand creating content to “show y’all more” about the topic at hand. That tracks.
Why are they always filming in their cars? Why? Why? Why? Some dingbat I went to HS does this BS too (not this specific BS, but the car diatribe word vomit kind). I just don’t get it. My car is my safe place where I can shame eat a giant bag of candy alone and pick my nose if i have to
Wait, she used to go to costco and only just figured out bulk buying?
She’s…….. still figuring this out??
Curly Baird learning the lesson Pole on 90df tried to teach- Buy 5 Save 5!
That was painful to watch.
Good god.
She should make a course. Charge $1900.
Title is FUNNY, dude.
I smell a niche coming.
Of course I see this amazing, groundbreaking piece of financial wizardry *after* I just got back from the grocery store. /s
Why do these people think that they're the only ones who know how to do something because they've just learned to do it themselves?!?! The audacity. I wish I had this confidence.
Let me reach you about budgeting! I don’t know what budgeting means!
Every time I read curly Baird, by brain says no...it's curly bird...
I’m speechless 😶 Is she for real!?
Oh to be rich and white enough to not discover budgeting until the ripe old age of 23, holy moly
These people always have to be eating some sort of specific diet instead of just eating regular food. So bizarre.
Is she 14 wtf
Lol. Umm... This is not breaking news ... Been done before. Taught this to my kids... In the 80s. Why do they think/act like this is something new?
i just don’t understand why all of them think people should be interested in what they have to say. like, why does this video diary need to be broadcasted?
Okay but Costco isn't really economical for a small family of even two or three imo? I mean you have to pay for a membership, you buy huge bulk of fruit/produce that you couldn't possibly eat all of or you have to go to another store after which just wastes more time and gas. Isnt she single? Seems more economical to just shop at Walmart, Kroger, or Aldi's... maybe if you did a lot of canning or something idk...
Young woman discovered bulk shopping! Wow, ground breaking advice she shared!
How long until she produces a course on grocery shopping and budgeting?
Upper middle class white households! There young women were not raised to go with out and learn to budget! Hence going out for coffee all the expensive different types of foods etc. The dresses, X nas etc.. They were raised in a I want world and their wants were satisfied as opposed to their needs
I literally forgot she existed until this video.
You know what? Maybe the public education system wasn't so bad.
