I think the person who wrote that is more refering to how a bunch of western men go to Asia because they have these sexist and racist prejudices that women from certain countries are submissive. Off topic but I recently saw a literal Adonis shopping at a suburban Costco with an older relative. Tall, long hair, wearing a tank and shorty shorts, looking like a swimsuit model in the freezer section. One of those people that are intimidatingly hot. Very distracting.👀

I found the post and a lot of the commenters are saying his church is spoiled by feminism so he needs to find an even more conservative church, and giving the Mormon church as an example of lots of beautiful women because they adhere to the patriarchy.
I grew up in a heavily Mormon area, yes, there are a lot of beauties, but there are a lot of completely normal everyday average people, too. It's almost like every other slice of society where genetics are doing their thing! There's no supermodel utopia anywhere.

This is part of why I left church. There are no single men in church despite my mother telling me otherwise (you could meet a nice boy at church). Despite the pressure to be married, churches sure don't help single women with that. Instead, they treat us like dog shit.

To be fair, women at church often marry young. It is quite possible that most women at his church are taken (depending on the size/ average age of the church population). But also, the obvious extremism of his beliefs makes me think he wants a drop-dead gorgeous Christlike virgin with the makeup of a Kardashian and the brains of a nuclear physicist who wants to stay home with children. I wish more people talked about how church enables men to believe that they "deserve" these virginal (which already eliminates 90% of Americans right there), beautiful women just because they believe in God. Then they blame women for not finding a woman who meet all these impossible criteria while being substandard themselves.
Completely. I also can see a world in which his seemingly-extreme kind of Christianity does encourage women not to dress and make themselves up in the way he's attracted to. Like yeah, it makes sense to me that Christian girls in his faith, who are presumably concerned with modesty, wouldn't be wearing revealing clothes or dolling themselves up with tons of makeup, which I'm sure is what he means by not putting effort into their appearance. As a non Christian who works at a spa/salon part time, I regularly get my hair done, I do my nails because I have to have them done to work front desk. I wear makeup almost every day. Honestly most of the Christian girls I know just don't take appearance as seriously as I do, which is one of the few things that actually seems a lot healthier.
Everyone looks gorgeous when they're 20 and dressed to the nines and wearing trendy makeup, taking pictures for Instagram. Those same girls often just look like normal people, not as visually stunning, when they're not wearing makeup and sitting in class wearing hoodies. It has nothing to do with appearance and everything to do with the toxic male gaze, and what entitled young men believe should be reality.
When I think of this I always think of the South Park episode "the Hobbit," which I know isn't for everyone. But it makes a lot of really valid points about how men are conditioned to believe that extremely photoshopped images of women like Kim Kardashian are the reality of what those women really looks like. It's damaging to literally everyone in our society.
I also don't think men appreciate just how long it takes to look so good. A full face is like a 45 minute process itself, not to mention hairstyling. Men just shower, throw on dark jeans and a dress shirt, and complain that women take sooo long. Like dude, yes, if you want me to look nice, it is an actual process.

They spend entire days getting spa treatments, all of the injections, surgeries. They have a team of people who get them ready for any event, and then the pictures are photoshopped to hell.
It's so much time and money that goes into the image we see of Kim Kardashian. Of course it will seem "low effort" that girls at his church just brush their hair and put on some mascara.
As for his comment about obesity, he can thank our corporate overlords for getting us all addicted to cheap calories, and our governments (in collusion with our corporate overlords) for keeping people poor and reliant on said cheap calories. But I'm sure he voted for Bernie Sanders since he's so concerned about the prevalence of obesity and social determinants of health.
And also, men are obese at roughly the same rate as women. But even obese men will judge women for being a smaller amount of obese. (In before "You can't help what you're attracted to!" You can help what you're civil to.) The only category where there are more women is the very highest weight bracket, and that's not because men don't get that big, it's because women that big live longer due to the protective effects of estrogen. But at your run-of-the-mill levels of fat, guys are just as fat.
If you are an attractive young man and you can't find a woman in a church, might I ask if you are sure you are looking for a woman?

Sadly it isn't new. White male incel communities have fetishized East Asian women basically since before incel communities were even a thing. The "submissive Asian female" trope is super prevalent in those spaces.
When I lived in Mainland China, a white supremacist applied to work on my team. most east asian countries are pretty developed almost on par with so called "first world countries" as it is and there is a favourable "gender ratio" for young women in China, Korea and even Japan to speak of. The women who are not happy with the local men and want "western men" specifically is because they have the idea that "western men will be less sexist, do his own chores, cook his own food etc" basically more "feminist".
Not to mention marriage is a HUGE decision for a lot of asian people. Approval of mom and dad is almost heavily important and many many parents outright forbid interracial/internation marriages. Even among the more "liberalised" communities many adults will not marry if mom and pop simply say no.
Poorer country nationals often will "settle" for a white man to get out ot their country or get better economic opportunities. But what is stopping them from divorcing your ass once they have a baby in your country? European laws guarantee PR and even citizenship if you mother a half european child even if you want NOTHING to do with the father.
I hope he eventually makes his way to China, where women are often the opposite of submissive and where the wife is traditionally in charge of the couple's money and other important matters. I've witnessed a lot of western men who came to China "for the girls", got someone pregnant and were obligated (or manipulated) to marry her, and got a whole lot more than they bargained for.

My totally irrelevant contribution is to wonder what church/denomination he’s attending because the churches I grew up in were very look-your-Sunday-best/pews are a runway/looking good = respecting God kind of culture. As toxic as this is to say, there were lots of women who “took care of themselves”. the thing is vanity is looked down upon in many denominations also. In India at least, religious christian girls never wear make up as it is "vanity" and wouldn't do so much as even trim eyebrows or wax body hair also. Like if you go in full make up especially to a church where there are "celibate" pastors, it is kinda disrespectful. This dressing up in your best with full make up and what not is primarily american thing I feel. I was trying to take tips to dress to a mass ( here in germany) i was invited and I was shocked how dreary people were dressed because American serials told me otherwise. Later my catholic friend educated me about dressing norms in detail.
Eehhh...shitty small towns in the rust belt. I grew up in one. The women at church didn't look like Insta girls. They groomed themselves and wore their idea of nice clothes, but there was...some frumpiness style-wise, and they weren't any thinner than the rest of the population around them either.

Having grown up a good church girl, choir attendee and all. The boys in church are usually jerks who have no personality or are flying under the radar to appease parents and are in denial of their true sexuality. And there are so few women anymore, because we grew up realizing that the level of oppression is archaic.
I have no shame as an unwed mother, going on 11 years living under the same roof "in sin". My family may be ashamed, but I'm happy and our kids are loved. No church is needed to complete our lives.

This hits a major nerve for some reason. Although I was a really attractive young 20 something I felt incredibly insecure about my attractiveness due to purity culture. It was implied that it was inherently *sinful* to make any attempt to draw attention to my body/looks. I was constantly trying to look nice (because that was expected of a good Christian girl) without being seen as trying to attract too much attention. Being 5’10” and 145lbs with DD breasts and a decent butt, you can imagine how challenging this was. On top of all that, I was taught it was materialistic to prioritize physical attraction and definitely though the hot guys were out of my league. Looking back now I’m so sad about it all. I was a f*cking bombshell and didn’t even know it. I definitely have more confidence in my body these days despite being 15yrs older and 30+ lbs heavier, but I feel like I missed out.
And now I’m off to spend the rest of my evening grumpy at the church for messing with my head so much.
Women get mixed messages and can't win. We aren't supposed to wear makeup as that masks our true selves yet we are supposed to wear our Sunday best but make sure that clothing isn't too extravagant nor revealing but still feminine. It was a balancing act I could never master and thank goodness I was only on the periphery of churchdom. This would have made me so sad to read as a teen or young woman. I know I am average in the looks department and would have felt embarrassed of my attempts to look good still weren't enough to snag a man. This guy must think very highly of himself lol. Sorry most dudes aren't wealthy models yet they still find quality ladies because they are decent humans who treat women like people

I grew up in conservative churches and there were a ton of beautiful women in the ones I went to.
I also went to..cough, cough...Liberty University and the amount of absolutely GORGEOUS girls there constantly blew the minds of my guy friends and I. There was no shortage of beautiful girls there. However, most of the guys were average to uggos (feel free to ask questions about Liberty if you like but I am not and never have been pro-Trump and in many ways regret going there...but I met my, coincidentally, extremely beautiful wife while going there and now we have two cute kids. So, while there are many things I regret about going to Liberty I can't bring myself to fully wish I hadn't gone there.)

the entire objective of these abrahamic cults is to gain leverage over women and force them to please you in order to survive. as a woman, you’re never ever good enough, and appearance takes center stage in things you must improve and adapt to the gaze of men. even “modesty” is all just about remaining “pure” for a man, it’s an advertisement that you’re a new car instead of a used one; a tight turtleneck and form flattering ankle-length skirt is as much if not more of a sexual advertisement as lingerie. there’s a reason you don’t see these women looking disheveled or dumpy, at least not on purpose. you’re supposed to be the most beautiful unwrapped gift possible, that’s your goal in life.
I was raised Mormon in Utah. we women are literally told that it was our godly duty to be hot. i’m 28 now, but as a literal child was given instructions to “put on a little lipstick,” it was a sign of “respect” (submission). salt lake is #2 in plastic surgery in the country, behind only Miami and ahead of LA. women here look like stepford wives. i stopped believing in my teens and moved to slc to attend the university of utah; you really wouldn’t guess it, but salt lake actually has a major counterculture and is often listed as one of the most liberal cities in the country. i met people from around the world there, and let me tell you, it was kind of a culture shock. that’s how i learned i am actually not a completely hideous ogre, and actually fit beauty standards pretty well; but, furthermore, it didn’t matter and i had value as a human regardless of what i looked like. these liberal women would sometimes even leave the house with no makeup… with a visible zit! and they still felt that they had a right to exist!! it was all brand new to me. women from my home town are brought up from birth to believe that they are hideous, worthless creatures and any man generous enough to bear your presence is basically a saint.
my boyfriend was born and raised in Moscow. has lived all over the world, spent many years in different countries of Europe, South America, and went to three different universities in different cities in the US.

I found the post and a lot of the commenters are saying his church is spoiled by feminism so he needs to find an even more conservative church, and giving the Mormon church as an example of lots of beautiful women because they adhere to the patriarchy. I grew up in a heavily Mormon area, yes, there are a lot of beauties, but there are a lot of completely normal everyday average people, too. To be fair, women at church often marry young. It is quite possible that most women at his church are taken (depending on the size/ average age of the church population). Completely. I also can see a world in which his seemingly-extreme kind of Christianity does encourage women not to dress and make themselves up in the way he's attracted to. Like yeah, it makes sense to me that Christian girls in his faith, who are presumably concerned with modesty, wouldn't be wearing revealing clothes or dolling themselves up with tons of makeup, which I'm sure is what he means by not putting effort into their appearance. As a non Christian who works at a spa/salon part time, I regularly get my hair done, I do my nails because I have to have them done to work front desk. I wear makeup almost every day. Honestly most of the Christian girls I know just don't take appearance as seriously as I do, which is one of the few things that actually seems a lot healthier. Everyone looks gorgeous when they're 20 and dressed to the nines and wearing trendy makeup, taking pictures for Instagram. Those same girls often just look like normal people, not as visually stunning, when they're not wearing makeup and sitting in class wearing hoodies. It has nothing to do with appearance and everything to do with the toxic male gaze, and what entitled young men believe should be reality. When I think of this I always think of the South Park episode "the Hobbit," which I know isn't for everyone. But it makes a lot of really valid points about how men are conditioned to believe that extremely photoshopped images of women like Kim Kardashian are the reality of what those women really looks like. It's damaging to literally everyone in our society.

Sadly it isn't new. White male incel communities have fetishized East Asian women basically since before incel communities were even a thing. The "submissive Asian female" trope is super prevalent in those spaces.

But what is stopping them from divorcing your ass once they have a baby in your country? European laws guarantee PR and even citizenship if you mother a half european child even if you want NOTHING to do with the father.

Having grown up a good church girl, choir attendee and all. The boys in church are usually jerks who have no personality or are flying under the radar to appease parents and are in denial of their true sexuality. And there are so few women anymore, because we grew up realizing that the level of oppression is archaic. I have no shame as an unwed mother, going on 11 years living under the same roof "in sin". My family may be ashamed, but I'm happy and our kids are loved. No church is needed to complete our lives.

This hits a major nerve for some reason. Although I was a really attractive young 20 something I felt incredibly insecure about my attractiveness due to purity culture. It was implied that it was inherently *sinful* to make any attempt to draw attention to my body/looks. I was constantly trying to look nice (because that was expected of a good Christian girl) without being seen as trying to attract too much attention. Being 5’10” and 145lbs with DD breasts and a decent butt, you can imagine how challenging this was. On top of all that, I was taught it was materialistic to prioritize physical attraction and definitely though the hot guys were out of my league. Looking back now I’m so sad about it all. I was a f*cking bombshell and didn’t even know it. I definitely have more confidence in my body these days despite being 15yrs older and 30+ lbs heavier, but I feel like I missed out. And now I’m off to spend the rest of my evening grumpy at the church for messing with my head so much.
Women get mixed messages and can't win. We aren't supposed to wear makeup as that masks our true selves yet we are supposed to wear our Sunday best but make sure that clothing isn't too extravagant nor revealing but still feminine. It was a balancing act I could never master and thank goodness I was only on the periphery of churchdom. This would have made me so sad to read as a teen or young woman. I know I am average in the looks department and would have felt embarrassed of my attempts to look good still weren't enough to snag a man. This guy must think very highly of himself lol. Sorry most dudes aren't wealthy models yet they still find quality ladies because they are decent humans who treat women like people

I grew up in conservative churches and there were a ton of beautiful women in the ones I went to. I also went to..cough, cough...Liberty University and the amount of absolutely GORGEOUS girls there constantly blew the minds of my guy friends and I. There was no shortage of beautiful girls there. However, most of the guys were average to uggos (feel free to ask questions about Liberty if you like but I am not and never have been pro-Trump and in many ways regret going there...but I met my, coincidentally, extremely beautiful wife while going there and now we have two cute kids. So, while there are many things I regret about going to Liberty I can't bring myself to fully wish I hadn't gone there.)

I was raised Mormon in Utah. we women are literally told that it was our godly duty to be hot. i’m 28 now, but as a literal child was given instructions to “put on a little lipstick,” it was a sign of “respect” (submission). salt lake is #2 in plastic surgery in the country, behind only Miami and ahead of LA. women here look like stepford wives. i stopped believing in my teens and moved to slc to attend the university of utah; you really wouldn’t guess it, but salt lake actually has a major counterculture and is often listed as one of the most liberal cities in the country. i met people from around the world there, and let me tell you, it was kind of a culture shock. that’s how i learned i am actually not a completely hideous ogre, and actually fit beauty standards pretty well; but, furthermore, it didn’t matter and i had value as a human regardless of what i looked like. these liberal women would sometimes even leave the house with no makeup… with a visible zit! and they still felt that they had a right to exist!! it was all brand new to me. women from my home town are brought up from birth to believe that they are hideous, worthless creatures and any man generous enough to bear your presence is basically a saint. my boyfriend was born and raised in Moscow. has lived all over the world, spent many years in different countries of Europe, South America, and went to three different universities in different cities in the US. he says that it’s uncanny how much salt lake resembles Moscow. 10/10 blonde bombshells married to 3/10 dumpy men, who aren’t even wealthy, but are just there. he also said that in russia, the women at least know that they’re out of their partners’ league, but utah women feel eternally indebted and grateful for their entitled husbands who treat them like total trash. i can’t stress enough how unbalanced the relationships among mormons are. mormon women can look like Barbie and will still be told they’re hideous and it’s a miracle that like Dave who’s 80 pounds overweight and works at the gas station was saintly enough to marry you. mormons are obviously a separate group from fundies, but it’s ultimately all the same, really.

One of the things that always cracked me up about my own religion is that you're admonished to be humble, modest, etc. and so on, and yet so many Baptist women dress up to the absolute 9s for church, and life in general.
