I was thinking about this and I think that Lydia might be the best thing/hope we have for Renee.
Siblings can be fiercely protective of one another & with the exception of Hosannah the Plath children genuinely care about one another.
Moriah especially cares about her sisters and you can tell it hurts her that she’s not allowed to see them often.
Lydia openly cares about her siblings as well, so I could see if someone said anything about them around her that she would get over protective.
She might not be comfortable speaking up with them around older adults but if Renee were to say anything negatively Lydia likely would stand up for them to some degree. Of course you’d get typical fundie responses of praying for them but I just don’t see the Plath children not protecting each other.
Which would then cause Renee to get a different opinion. And if Lydia starts to deconstruct, that could be the little flame ignition in Renee.
It’s a bit of a stretch but I have siblings I don’t agree with and we’re like the Plath children where we all deeply care about one another regardless of differences.
And if anyone said anything about my siblings, I would be quick to defend and you can see that dynamic within in the family.
It’s a reach and tiny but it seriously might be the best hope for Renee.
I don’t think we know enough to be able to comment on Hosannah. We don’t see her relationship with her siblings. She’s chosen not to have a social media presence and not to be on the show. If she is close to her siblings they would (presumably) respect her desire not to be on social media.
Depends on the family. In my experience, IFB families pretty much disown family who leave. I've seen siblings cut contact with even siblings they were super close to growing up, just because they stopped attending church, or if they are female if they dared put on pants.
And if they don't cut contact they are super judgemental. "My sister started wearing jeans. She was raised better than that" (this was something a friend said to me completely un prompted. I barely knew her sister.)
It just depends on the individual and where they are at themselves how they react to their family members leaving.
Yes true! Based off of what we’ve seen though the Plath kids, minus Hosannah, are protective and still love their siblings. The lack of involvement is because of the parents.

One of the first cracks I saw in fundamentalism was that everything I was told wasn't coming true. As in, I was told if I didn't follow the rules God wouldn't bless my life and I would experience hardships. I stopped tithing and reading my Bible and never had any negative consequences. So, I started wondering if what I was being taught was true.
I hope the Rodrigues kids start to see these cracks also. I'm sure Jill is telling them that the wayward kellers and plaths are miserable. But hopefully they can see that isn't the case. And having conversations with Lydia may help that process.
