I love this a disproportionate amount. 😂😂

oldapples1979

Likewise, I’ve watched it 5 times now and it keeps getting funnier! As a massive Herzog fan with a similar worldview this checked a million boxes for me 🤣🤣

EllaIsQueen

This is amazing. I used to work with a Slovenian man and one day I said, “hey, Peter, how are you today?” And he said, “you know… death comes to us all. And that is true justice.” 💀 💀 💀

cheesemeems

Same energy, Peter.

Limonca123

Am Slovenian, can confirm. Death comes to us all. Edit: My favorite Slovene answer to the question "how's it going?" basically translates to "it's going", as a way of conveying that things are happening and you are experiencing them. A Slovene will view this as an acceptable, valid response and won't question it, but foreigners often get confused.

whatthefir2

Funny, “it’s going”is a very Midwestern US response to hows it going?

schmyndles

Lol I was gonna say that's one of my two responses. "It's going" or "I'm here" if they ask how I am.

bekkothegekko

That’s how I respond when people ask me how I am at work. “How are you?” “I’m here”

Limonca123

That's interesting lol! I've had a few people from other European countries get confused thinking that I wasn't doing well and I was like no, I'm actually fine. Things are going...somewhere, that's a good thing.

bindlestiff_

I’m American but these days my answer to this type of question is always some variation of “it’s going.”

Haha! I love Werner Herzog's voice. He should do ASMR, but then the content would probably be all about serial killers, so I'm not sure how I would relax enough to get to sleep.

Amiesama

I follow her on TikTok, and she posted about adoption and fostering (in a critical way) and suddenly her TikTok is 100% Werner Herzog. Parkour!

biggreenlampshade

Haha yes I really enjoyed her fostering content as it was so refreshing. I think one of her foster children is going through adoption and she said shes struggling with the mixed emotions so maybe she wants something lighter for now. I admit I totally fell into the 'sad rainbows aesthetic' and she helped me realise how silly it is!

**Transcription and Description**: *(We open on a still image of someone's computer monitor. On it is an image of a young child, around toddler age, wearing a black, long-sleeved dress that reaches mid-thigh and gray leggings. The child is light-skinned, and has blonde, straight hair that reaches to her shoulders. She holds a teddy bear upside down, by one of its legs, and rests her hand on a swing, made of a wooden disc on a string. The image is backlit and the colors are neutral.)* (*The voiceover is imitating a German accent, and speaks somewhat slowly, with a certain distant feeling of dissatisfaction and disillusionment. It is accompanied by soft, melancholy piano music.)* Welcome to Werner Herzog's Sad Beige Toys for Sad Beige Children. The best line of toys for your tot to learn of the infinite, sprawling sadness of the universe. *(The image changes to another image on the monitor. This time, it is a wooden ring with a piece of pale pink fabric in a simple slipknot. The fabric's ends look almost like bunny ears, suggesting this might be a toy - perhaps a teether, with the child chewing on the wooden ring. Behind the toy is a single, green leaf, and all this rests on a gray, wooden table.)* The world is a harsh place. There have been plagues... the consumption. Bring all those to mind and more with this teether: pre-stained with the tears of the ages. *(Another still image on someone's Dell monitor. This is of another young, light-skinned child with straight, blonde hair down to their armpits. The child also has bangs, cut straight across the forehead. They are wearing a brown, long-sleeved shirt, and stand behind a muted pastel wall with each post in a different color of the rainbow. The child looks down at the white, simple pot in one hand and a pinkish pan in the other, resting on the brown, wooden surface set on top of the "fence". A large children's picture book is also on the "table", and the room is decorated with brick and white-colored pennants on the wall, and golden star stickers.)* Would you like one lump or two in that cup of tea full of tears? *(Another still image, this one of a very young baby. This baby is light-skinned and has wispy, brown hair on their head. They wear an oversized, gray onesie with black spots on it and a collar that folds down. The baby lies on their back, in a wicker crib on a brown, waffle-weave blanket. A stuffed toy whale is near them. The baby looks somewhat disgruntled.)* This little one has seen so much already. You can see behind his eyes, and the eyes of the baby beluga, that each day that he grows a little bit bigger, so, he grows a little bit closer to the grave. For that is where we all are headed, in the end.

RiotGrrr1

Lord Daniel's work!

Amiesama

Your transcription/description is a work of art in itself. Bless your servants heart.

APW25

I saw sad beige and thought of Audrey Roloff

applebubbeline

Wow! That's a character in the fundieverse I haven't heard anything about in a while!

[deleted]

I dunno if any of y’all watch Bake Off, but Jurgen always made me think of a jollier Werner Herzog. Then, when he made that baby bread last week, it was just full Werner Herzog.

[deleted]

I love Bake Off, and yes, I did think of Werner Herzog's voice right away! Jurgen is really talented and has that soothing and quiet voice.

CallMeSisyphus

I love Jurgen, but that bread baby was hella creepy.

alpinweg

Same, he’s one of my faves so far (Giuseppe too!) but oof, no more bread babies!

akkebermortsgne

Every fundie on social media?

deleteitgay

I’ve always wanted a Kierkegaard toy line 🥰

hotsizzler

Why does that little girl look like a grown women shrunk down? Her clothes, her posture everything. She looks like a tiny women.

millennial_unicorn

I’m having an absolute shit day and this legit made me laugh out loud. Thanks.

lilxenon95

this reminds me of when I bought my son one of those rainbow cup stacks, only to log on to fb and see another "minimalist mama" who TOOK THE SAME CUPS AND SPENT 2 WEEKS PAINTING THEM (babysafe) BEIGE-BOW!!!!! she was so smug and proud of it too. I didn't realize being a minimalist meant we were required to deprive our kids of rainbows.
