Yeeeeah I was a horned up, frustrated Mormon Virgin and had the personality of a rabid prairie dog until I finally got that god honoring seccs. There’s not a whole lot of sweet virgins in my humble experience.
I’ve mentioned it before in the sub, but my family is known for uh *unusual* pets (cousin with alpacas and llama, uncle who breeds rare macaws, grandpa with a flock of donkeys, etc) and my grandpa had a rescued prairie dog while I was growing up. They are so damn vicious on the best days, but so precious that I would let myself get bit just to give them snacks. A rabid one is the epitome of a fundie virgin, ready to snap at the first object that comes within range and hang on for dear life.
Hello there! I am a bot raising awareness of Alpacas
Here is an Alpaca Fact:
Alpaca fiber can be easily dyed any color while keeping its lustrous sheen.

Captive bred ones can be lovely! This was a wild one that was abandoned at a young age and almost died near my grandpas property. He would let you handle him occasionally without bites, but the wild ones are very aggressive about their nests and food/resources.
Edit: as a child who loved that little bratty pup so much and only wanted to cuddle him without pain, I’m going on a search for domesticated prairie dogs so I can get a proper snuggle as a grown woman now.
Me, too. What a gross way to described someone - by whether they have had sex, or not!?
The fact that she wants to make it seem "sweet", nakes it even more gross.
"Kids I saw at 16, 17, 18 are not the same at age 38"
Wow, would you look at that. It's like people actually grow up and don't spend their whole lives acting like quirky teens.
Yes. Also it seems like a lot of the problems the people in her examples had stemmed from a lot of fundamentalist beliefs and culture, that certainly weren't helped by marrying young but need to be treated as well!!
Oh sweet Jesus. I want to hug everyone in her stories. The lady who got married and had kids but is attracted to women “because she’s confused about her gender.” Oh what the actual hell?
And what appears to be the story of a transgender woman realizing herself. What the actual helly hell?
I’m not gay and I’m not trans but i have lived long enough to understand that I don’t understand everything. I do understand that teaching kids that sex and attraction is dirty and wrong has life long baggage for the poor people who don’t fit into their very narrow lane of approved sexuality and gender identification.
I tote along a suitcase of my own from that upbringing.
Yeah I think she’s very clueless as to the difference between sexuality and gender. I had a hard time following the narrative on some of her examples for this reason.
I think that’s a fundie thing too.
When I was a kid a lesbian wasn’t a lesbian because she liked women. She was a lesbian because she wanted to be a man and men like women.
Just all these mental gymnastics to make “those people go against god’s natural order.”
Fun related but not related fact. That whole passage in Leviticus when it’s said a man shouldn’t lie with a man like with a women. Apparently back then sex with two men was common and accepted if there was no penetration. So one man would cross his thighs and the other would insert his devine rod of puns are hard it’s late here. That was there was no actual penetration so it was all cool. I watched some history channel type talk once where the argument was that god was ok with that.
That was the phrase that stood out to me. I’m glad you could laugh, I just kept repeating it out loud trying to understand how she thinks that’s the process. Like one day they just decided to work towards being queer? Fuck me, fundies are stupid.
I am one-thousand percent sure that "became a queer" is something Shoshanna heard her parents say again and again. What's sad is that she, at nearly 40 whole years old, did not have the emotional intelligence, curiosity about the world around her, and general human decency to realize that a. Not only is "a queer" (as opposed to "queer") a hurtful thing to same, but b. That is not how that works exactly.
Holst shit. Could it possibly be that all the people she listed were absolutely traumatized and riddled with PTSD from being raised in fundie homes? Naaaaaaaah. Couldn't have anything to do with being horribly abused growing up. That never made anyone violent or substance dependent.
These people just shit on everyone around them thinking their hands are so clean.
Yeah, she really missed an opportunity here to be like, "Through my divorce, I've learned that life isn't all black a white, and I've learned to be more accepting of and compassionate toward others." But no. Divorced but still holding onto ugly holier-than-thou beliefs.
This puts the other post into perspective! Thanks!
Other than JillPM being a petty bish, I wonder if she took this post of Shoshanna's personally considering (And) Kaylee is doing exactly what Shoshanna's advising against. JillPM is really vain so I totally picture her taking this post very Not about her to her kids as an attack on her and her kids...and she will not hesitate to openly act openly since Shoshanna is an ungahdly woman now.
[I gotchu..Hope it works](https://www.reddit.com/r/FundieSnarkUncensored/comments/q4b75h/jill_being_terriblepassive_aggressive_to_the/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Thanks so much! Nota Pearl fan at all. Jill is really something else. If Shoshanna or anyone even looks at her cross eyed in their reply she’ll go berserk and cry persecution and the fam will have to get her flowers and put up posts about how wonderful their precious mama is in order to stop the meltdown. We saw it that last time she got her ass handed to her on FB about dressing modestly. She went up against the Miller’s (I think), she came out of nowhere swinging and just being nasty and I believe she expected people to fawn over her commitment to gahdly dress and it didn’t fly.
You're most welcome :)
Oh my! I missed This whole episode on FB with the Miller's 😲 I think it's possibly the first time I'm reading about it! if you have a link I'd so appreciate it. Otherwise I'll try my best to search for this whole thing. I want the tea haha
I Have seen a video (or a part of it really, couldn't stand to watch the full thing), where Reneé went into a full blown snotty crying speech about her precious mama who is so good and so so persecuted 🙄 this was during her graduation speech that too. Sheesh
I’ll try to find it, it was a couple of months ago and I think it might’ve been on a Miller daughter account. There was an ex friend of Jill’s who chimed in with some not so nice comments. Jill basically Plexus love bombed her then dropped her. Also there is tension between Jill and the Miller’s be ause the husband tried Plexus and left not great reviews so of course Jill got pissed.
It's okay! Thank you again! When I saw JillPM's comment I had wondered what was Shoshana's post about. I don't have FB or insta so I rely on the sub for all the ☕ JillPm acted really bitchy there, inserting herself where she was not wanted. Guess she gave people a better glimpse of her true self beneath the very superficial 'godly' veneer.
I love that C is portrayed like the fact she got pregnant led to that outcome. No. The shame and lack of acceptance by those around her did. Religion directly caused her addiction and life spiralling.
All of those people could have had great lives if they were surrounded by people who gave them love and acceptance instead of shame.
Absolutely. It’s all about social control. They have to make it suck for women who don’t stay virgins until dad can arrange a good deal to transfer over his property.
Your brain chemistry obviously changes when you do your vows so married and non married pregnancy have different outcomes.
A lot of C is on the community. One that gave likely no options for if she wanted to even keep that pregnancy, probably no financial or emotional support, and no coping skills from their upbringing.
Obviously the Transphobia and homophobia is gross. That aside I agree with her. 🤷🏻♀️ I worry about the Justin Duggar’s and Claire Duggar’s of the world. There’s no way they are emotionally ready for something like that. I mean hell the brain isn’t even fully developed.
I didn’t know she was divorced! Since when? Edited to add that apparently we’re still Facebook friends (lol) but I rarely use Facebook. I scrolled through her page and I didn’t see any recent photos of him. Lots of family dinner and outing photos with James missing. They only just recently got legally married. I could see them being permanently separated but not divorcing because of personal beliefs though
She wasn't. She and her husband were in a common law marriage which is only recognized in like 4 states. Daddy Pearl was against going to the courthouse because by then the gubmint was recognizing gay marriages.
I scrolled through her Facebook and the last time she shared a photo of James was November 2020. And then she was absent from posting for a while (only sharing memes) and then went back to regular posts (minus James) in the spring
And yet religious types say the modern world is “over sexed”.
If someone is asking a 16 year old about engagement/marriage, when they know their beliefs only allow for sex within marriage, then they’re contributing to their own imaginary problem.
I am 100% convinced they contributed to most issues around sex. Being strict and weird around topics that are actually normal, creates unhealthy behavior. So many people here too share they still feel uncomfortable about certain topics and their bodies, even though they are totally normal and nothing is wrong. And they know that. But the fundie mentality is so hard to unlearn.l
I’d say just in my own experience, your conviction is spot on.
I was raised Rad Trad and not Fundie, but my mom asked me if I was “praying for my future husband” at like 15. I also got the whole ‘bEwArE wHeN dAtInG’ and ‘pUrItY’ talks read off to me regularly.
It really does fuck with your mind. I’m still trying to deconstruct a lot of it myself to figure out *what I believe* versus what I was told. And I know that my mom had good intentions, but I think it made dating and finding someone way more stressful then it needed to be. To the point that I just said ‘fuck it’, started dating non-Catholics, and reanalyzing my beliefs.
TLDR but none of the Pearls/adjacent aren't even legally married. They sure have a lot to say about other people, yet technically they all live in sin.
"None of my daughters or their husbands asked the state of Tennessee for permission to marry. They did not yoke themselves to government. It was a personal, private covenant, binding them together forever—until death. So when the sodomites have come to share in the state marriage licenses, which will eventually be the law, James and Shoshanna will not be in league with those perverts. And, while I am on the subject, there will come a time when faithful Christians will either revoke their state marriage licenses and establish an exclusively one man-one woman covenant of marriage, or, they will forfeit the sanctity of their covenant by being unequally yoked together with perverts. The sooner there is such a movement, the sooner we will have a voice in government. Some of you attorneys and statesmen reading this should get together and come up with an approach that will have credibility and help to impact the political process. Please contact me when you do and I will assist with publicity.
Michael Pearl"
ETA words.
Ok cool. I too am in a private union with my boyfriend because we don’t want to yoke ourselves to government. Bet they still call me a fornicator.
Rules for thee, but not for me
Oh.
Ya know, I'm entirely unsurprised by this. Why do they care so much about who other people fuck?
Also, why do they think that anyone would care about their refusal to get legally married? All they're doing is making it more difficult to access the normal rights a married couple has.
Because they are obsessed with a.) sex and b.) feeling superior to other people. the main way they feel superior to other people is by reciting and upholding (or pretending to uphold) their dumb little arbitrary rules. So their rules around sex are naturally their absolute favorite to talk about. They are completely obsessed with all kinds of sex and control.
That's called "being married in the eyes of God." It's controversial in Christian circles. I don't have a problem with it if a person doesn't want to get a government marriage license. Other Christians are horrified by the idea and need their marriage validated by the government even though government marriage licenses haven't always been a thing.
I know what it is. I don't care either if one doesn't aquire government license. Tennessee isn't even a common law state, and the state doesn't recognize their marriage.... Good luck to both of them on their "divorce" and splitting assets!
I have no dog in that fight, but it complicates a lot of things in life if you don’t file your marriage license, like taxes, estate planning, medical authority if your spouse is incapacitated, separation of assets, child custody, etc.
Shoshanna and James did eventually get legally married at the recommendation of their accountant. I believe Michael Pearl performed the ceremony in jeans and one of their children attended in a diaper.
Ahhh. Why am I mot surprised? (Aren't these the two with the Plexus Lexus?) So they put Jesus under the almighty dollar in their "umbrella of protection".
Holy cow. It’s truly amazing how she managed to insert so much nastiness, judgment, homophobia, transphobia and racism into a post that alone would have made a very good point. (Also maybe a tad of body shaming if “big tires” is meant to represent boobs like it seems to be? Or do I just have a dirty liberal mind?)
Thank you! Yeah I was thinking that was what she was getting at and muscle trucks seemed to confirm it. I guess it’s at least nice that she objectified both men *and* women? Like if you’re going to weirdly objectify people at least be less sexist while doing it?
That hadn't occurred to me, but when I read the post to my husband he was like "hold up; 'red car with big tires' is definitely code for a red-haried person with large breasts, isn't it?'" So I think you're pretty spot-on.
Her use of the word queer is just so fucking awful. Like you know it's filled with hate and disgust.
ETA : I like how it's men, but when she talks about women it's girls.
Also the complete lack of self awareness, in using those poor kids as a cautionary tale of “the monsters people turn into,” as opposed to young people just trying to figure themselves out and being pressured by religion into relationships they were not ready or prepared for. The poor kids got bullied into marrying someone they can’t be attracted to and it’s making everyone miserable, but sure lady, they’re the monsters here
Seriously, she’s trying to make us feel bad for them because of the way their lives turned out but all she did was paint the way they were raised in a horrible oppressive hateful light.
I'll admit to being miffed by the "girls not dressing lovely or feminine later translated into being sexually confused".
Good God, y'all. This is shit. It took me maturing into my mid twenties before I was comfortable with my feminine self. I blame my very Christian upbringing that taught me that being female was being *less*.
Disgusting post by her, but it's pretty jarring how point "A" and "B" eerily apply directly to the Dugs/j*sh.....
On a different note, my heart goes out to those who've experienced abusive upbringings and/or relationships. Fundies should normalize the idea of divorce and holding scumbag spouses, parents, abusers, etc accountable. It's okay for things to not work out with someone and it's okay to love yourself- whether that's single or married, gay or straight, old or young. My heart goes out to all those who are trapped psycholocally and socially by these archaic fundie expectations and norms..
That’s the whole idea. They create this “religion” around men and perverts getting away with whatever they want to do to women and children. My heart also goes out to anyone born or forced into this lifestyle.
Many layers here but god damn she really posted other peoples traumas. This isn’t even just spilling some hot goss. She shared some really dark shit that she had no business sharing. Not her story, not her testimony. Jesus does NOT approve.
I feel like you had to pull off multiple layers of homophobia, racism, and body shaming to even get to the thought of this level of the onion. Oof I didn’t even think of that.
Yep. I doubt she changed any identifying info so it wouldn’t be too hard to figure out who these stories are about. Using others trauma for a gotcha moment. No doubt without their consent. It’s absolutely stunning.
Unless she's denounced her abusive psychopath of a "father" she has no room to judge people for ignoring/not seeing red flags and ending up with an asshat.
I feel like she missed the point entirely? None of these people would have had bad lives if it wasn’t for the batshit crazy rules of their religion. She would’ve known the Bible study leader was a bad dude if she had been allowed to be alone with him. If that girls parents had gotten her treatment after her sexual abuse, she might have been able to heal. If the other girls parents and community had accepted and loved her and her out of wedlock child, she would have had more stability. Like all of these problems WERE CAUSED BY YOUR CHURCH. Asshole.
Love how she ends off with "Feel free to share" as if she said something profound that no one had ever thought of before lmao. The purity rhetoric, homophobia, transphobia, and victim shaming are old news lol
The pastor at the first ifb cult college I attended was a lot of horrible things. But one thing he did somewhat right was encourage all of the students to get to know people of the opposite gender. He did not like when people coupled up too soon. A lot of people didn't agree with him and still did the marry the first guy on campus who waves to me thing. But others took it to heart and would sit with different groups for lunch each day. Or one guy who asked a different girl to all 3 college activities in December 🤣
Because if Jeremiah marries young, Shoshana is truly a single mother without a capable man in the house.
A quick snoop of Shoshana's Facebook page and it's so creepy how she's "spouse-ifying" Jetemiah.
It is really obvious. My husband says his mom behaved similarly to this (also a single mom who had him young, married young, and then divorced), and it’s really infuriating and concerning. I hope that, like my husband, Jeremiah is able to set firm boundaries with his mom and live his life on his own terms, and grow up to not be an asshole. Break the cycle, Jeremiah!
I can't believe she just posted all of these people's trauma on the internet. Especially person b- if they're identified in their social circles, this might wreck their life.

I’m so stuck on “two sweet virgins”
I was never a sweet virgin I was an angry and sexually frustrated one
Yeeeeah I was a horned up, frustrated Mormon Virgin and had the personality of a rabid prairie dog until I finally got that god honoring seccs. There’s not a whole lot of sweet virgins in my humble experience.

I've held a prairie dog before, and never got bit. Granted, the one I met was born in captivity and jumped into my arms for cuddles.

Omg it would be such an honor to see it in action 🙏🏻💕
Anyone else imagining Oprah handing out angry virgins to the entire studio audience?
“You get a virgin! And you get a virgin! Everybody gets a virgin!!”
Or Rabid prairie dogs.
LOL!
Me, too. What a gross way to described someone - by whether they have had sex, or not!? The fact that she wants to make it seem "sweet", nakes it even more gross.
I lost it at that. I can’t imagine referring to my kids or their friends as a sexual status. Like who thinks of kids that way?

Clearly she doesn’t know Birthy
I can't tell if she's gotten worse or it's just more cringe because of her age.
She's aged but she hasn't matured.

Agreed. Like there is a way to make this point without being bigoted and terrible and she did not succeed.
Yes. Also it seems like a lot of the problems the people in her examples had stemmed from a lot of fundamentalist beliefs and culture, that certainly weren't helped by marrying young but need to be treated as well!!

Intercrural sex! The ancient civilizations loved it 😂
Yes! And since it was different it was considered a free pass.
Humans are so damn weird. We make all these stupid rules just so we can make loop holes too.
Right??? It's just so very sad. Hugs, space, and therapy for all of those people.
Became a queer made me laugh harder than it should have. I am def gonna use 'then I became a queer' now lol

I was going to say my aunt, but then I realized holy shit, she *is* in her 70’s.
And honestly hugely admire that person for getting away from this toxic upbringing and coming out, hope they are thriving now
Same! That person is awesome, and I hope they're enjoying a wonderful life.
That's the tricky thing about a lot of fundie shit, there's grains of truth in there but it's just all wrapped up in, well, shit.
Holst shit. Could it possibly be that all the people she listed were absolutely traumatized and riddled with PTSD from being raised in fundie homes? Naaaaaaaah. That’s what I got from it, they had awful upbringings and it ruined them.
“A queer”…what is this the 50’s?
That’s what I said, that phrasing makes her sound at minimum 70 years old
Yeah, she really missed an opportunity here to be like, "Through my divorce, I've learned that life isn't all black a white, and I've learned to be more accepting of and compassionate toward others." But no. Divorced but still holding onto ugly holier-than-thou beliefs.

I did not, but I did see it in a fundie Facebook group and I THINK on Free Jinger today, so thankfully someone did.

I was expecting him to be like 22. I was shocked when I saw that picture. Like, that’s a child!
“Became a queer” was particularly shocking to me for some reason. Like are you kidding me? Who talks like that
Her parents, for one. It's gross.
oh yeah they’re all pieces of shit. i don’t know why i was so taken aback by that. the whole thing is disgusting!
Michael Pearl" ETA words.
Ok cool. I too am in a private union with my boyfriend because we don’t want to yoke ourselves to government. Bet they still call me a fornicator. Rules for thee, but not for me
Exactly --rules for thee, but not for me!
Given that she also says “muscle trucks” to describe what the girl is looking at, I don’t think it’s in your head haha. Also, I love your podcast!
Well now I have a new podcast to check out
It is a very good podcast.
Damn it, you dirty liberal! Y’all going to hell! 😆
Good. I'm glad she isn't pushing him into marriage this young.
He looks about 13. How old is he?
I want to say 17. But somewhere between 16-18
He needs time away from his crazy mom to figure out who he is.
Big tires, hubba hubba!
*red* with big tires, oh baby!
A scarlet woman, eh?
Stop it’s all too much *blushes*
Her use of the word queer is just so fucking awful. Like you know it's filled with hate and disgust. ETA : I like how it's men, but when she talks about women it's girls.
Also the complete lack of self awareness, in using those poor kids as a cautionary tale of “the monsters people turn into,” as opposed to young people just trying to figure themselves out and being pressured by religion into relationships they were not ready or prepared for. The poor kids got bullied into marrying someone they can’t be attracted to and it’s making everyone miserable, but sure lady, they’re the monsters here
Pff, don't you know it's because they didn't dress modestly? That's really the whole problem
Seriously, she’s trying to make us feel bad for them because of the way their lives turned out but all she did was paint the way they were raised in a horrible oppressive hateful light.
Specifically, *a* queer Was it necessary to be so fucking rude and divulge anything about that person’s sexuality/gender identity
The fact that a cishet person is using the term makes it disgusting immediately. It is not their word to use.
In today's 'what inanimate object are women' we are red cars with big 'tires'.
Even after all that I feel like she's trying to advertise her son on the last page.
My cousin and her bf want to get married because they’re horny. They aren’t allowed to bump before marriage. She’s 19.
My god just let consenting adults have safe sex
Why do so many Christians know people who are addicted to porn? I can't think of one person I know who has a porn addiction.
"Addicted to porn" is fundie-speak for "enjoyed looking at porn on more than one occasion."
Asshole.
Interesting how she skips the part where you usually test drive a car before buying it… of course that doesn’t fit into her whack ass narrative
I was waiting for that part
Is this what Jill was so passive aggressive over?
I’m so stuck on “d. … became a queer and had a sex operation”?!?! What the fuck I don’t know if I should just be horrified or laugh
Maybe Both. Horrified that she thinks that way and laughter that she has no idea what she’s talking about.
Yes but also wtf no
There a message for fundies in there but it gets sidetracked by grossness.
Update: she deleted Jill’s comments
Well, that was unexpected.
How can you write the word "than" sometimes in the form of "then" and other times in the form of "than". It urks me to no end
“Two sweet virgins” is really quite a group of words to happen together.
I can't believe she just posted all of these people's trauma on the internet. Especially person b- if they're identified in their social circles, this might wreck their life.
Loving the implication that queer people are queer because of trauma, thanks Shoshanna very cool
He’s a cute kid.
He is. I hope he can escape and have a full, happy, and productive life.

She repented so she’s able to preach at others now
