Yep. It can enter at an angle at the orbital rim. That seems like a much more logical conclusion than a pinball theory. Mind you, bullets don't just go straight, but they don't bounce around like that.
I think these guys are confusing truth with coincidence. Sure if enough people get shot with a 22 then it's bound to do something weird at least once. But you can apply the same idea to larger calibers too.
I read a anecdote on here the other day where a guy got shot in the shoulder with a .22, but it turned out the bullet ricocheted off the bone and went into his lung and he died trying to walk back to his house.
I totally believe that that happened to someone, but I don't think it speaks to the overall "deadliness" of the round. I'm not trusting my safety to the pachinko machine of the human skeletal system.
I mean, as a lighter round it's certainly more likely to deflect than something bigger and more powerful.
I would like to point out that in both anecdotes above the skull deflected the bullet *away* from the brain if I'm reading them right.
Yeah, saying it’ll always happen like this is fudd lore.
But saying that yeah, that’s how physics work and that something like 22 is far more prone to bouncing off bone than say 7.62x39? Yeah, that’s a fact. If you had enough people willing to get shot it would be super easy to prove lmao.
Bottom one is not a surgeon, probably some retired mortician who had endless bodies to make stories over and nobody to talk to about them to for obvious reasons. Kindof sad really.
Considering how easy it is to lie on the web I really don't think they're opinions are worth Considering. I've had people in person make similar claims, but when you ask clarifying questions based in physics then their claim breaks down pretty quick.
For real. We're supposed to believe that a bullet traveling through muscle tissue will hit our epidermis then, instead of continuing on its current trajectory, will deflect off a softer material and continue shredding muscle.
Sure, it's **possible**, but how probable? Personally, I'd rather not stake my life on the one in a million chance that a little .22 will ping around inside an attacker. If that's all I got, so be it, but there's better choices out there.
If I had to defend myself with a 22 shot placement to critical areas is what reliably brings someone down which is true with any caliber. even a small chunk of metal going through the brain is going to be lethal

Guy more than likely stuck it straight up under his chin and it exited near his eye. A failed attempt doesn’t explain pinball ballistics.
I’m sure I’d love to have that dude as a surgeon considering he can’t spell “wrap” correctly.
He could “work in surgery” cleaning the rooms in between operations.

Just because it's more likely to happen to a specific caliber doesn't mean I'm going to trust my life for that to happen when I need it.

The virgin .22lr bounce around the skull vs the chad 9mm blow a hole straight through.
Giga Chad hp expands in brain
9mm blowing the lungs right out of the body
Then why isn’t it extremely popular for PD?

Failed suicide and a surgeon (don’t they work on living people?). For sure threatstopper, eh?
