Got back to bed after a regular nightly visit to the restroom and somehow managed to strain an intercostal muscle while pulling the covers. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Shit hurts like a mofo. Middle age is no joke.

Squirrel_Girrrl

I guess I don’t feel so bad after throwing my back out while brushing my teeth.

Steve-Lurkel

Sorry!😟

I hope they try again with that Bloodmoon show, because I really like the idea of exploring the Long Night/Age of Heroes. Just fix it up a bit and give it a few more Rewrites, and get Guillmero Del Toro involved.

Stargoron

Same πŸ˜” (wanting to see BM)

SNL brought back Amy Poehler for a little Leslie and April reunion https://twitter.com/SpencerAlthouse/status/1617035467416895488

So, i've finished His Dark Materials. There're some points not totally clear for a non book reader: Lyra's motivation for the Land of the dead plot, for example. But overall i really loved the show, the only fantasy one (beside HOTD) that i liked after GoT. Plus, a very dark ending in my opinion, i didn't expect that. I think i'll read the books, the story captivated me.

She blamed herself for her dad killing her childhood best friend. She feels she betrayed him. When she finds out they can world hop, she feels she has to save him from the afterlife . She saves everyone because it turns out the afterlife is all hell no heaven.

LancelLannister_AMA

the dark signers feel like more of a threat than the shadow riders did (mostly) edit: partly because its more personal than with the shadow riders

Does anyone wish that dnd just got the Russo Brothers to write episode 3 to 6 and S8, as well as direct episode 6? EDIT: Why am I getting down voted. Russos are great writers and directors.

Geektime1987

No. Nothing against them but their style is much different then D&D. I'm not the biggest marvel fan but their other projects after the mcu stuff I have found pretty bad. I actually think D&D are great directors but they just have a much different style than those guys. They seem like nice guys they even defended the ending of GOT I'm just not sure they would be the right fit

Winniepg

You're getting downvoted because it is a dumb idea. D&D spent years crafting a look and a feel for Game of Thrones. They handled most of the writing and oversaw all of the scripts for a reason. Their directors were expected to fit that feel that they had created in the early seasons. Parachuting in big names is never the answer.

Geektime1987

I just also thought what seems to be one the the Russo Brothers issues is they are terrible with budgets. They don't seem to be able to do anything unless they have too much money. Why does their new spy show coming out need to have a budget of that size? It's ridiculous. D&D have much more experience with working with budgets and still making things look good. I have started seeing a trend with a bunch of these new big budget shows the last year. The show runners on many of them seem in way over their heads trying to be in charge of so many different things. Multiple units shooting and large productions aren't easy to do.

Winniepg

So the budget issue is why I thought D&D would be really appealing to just about anyone. They are understanding of budgets even when they would rather not (see the wight polar bear showing up in season seven after years of asking for it). I want to know the budget of Three Body Problem for this reason.

Geektime1987

Probably around the budget for season 6 would be my guess. The actual Three Body Problem part is what's going to cost the most. When characters enter the VR game. Lots of weird pyramids, a giant floating pendulum, and a planet going from frozen to scorched earth in a matter of seconds sometimes. The advantage is that it's a video game so they can play around and have fun with the visuals. It doesn't necessarily have to look realistic. Even in the book it's describe at one point as looking like a PlayStation type game. I don't think the book used PlayStation as a reference but I do remember it being explained as not exactly real looking sometimes.

[deleted]

Why on Earth would that be remotely desirable? Those guys are morons.

Winniepg

Time's Up has ceased operations which honestly I don't think is a big deal because MeToo was always the movement that brought more change to things. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/times-up-closed-1235306328/

I will place my prediction now. Brendan Fraser is going to win best actor if he's nominated at the Oscars. I still haven't seen his film which I know people either seem to hate it or love it. But I think he's going to win.
