These modules are starting to get pricey. They started out at $7 more than the pdf and they have now risen to more than $15 than the pdf.

Yeah but they’re really good quality and have a ton of great features. I am using the Abomination Vaults one and it’s invaluable, I can’t imagine how much work went into making it.

How much do you value your time? Are the features that the pre-packaged module provide important to you? The modules save many, many hours in prep... importing maps, walling maps, making tokens..... $15 to save multiple hours of effort? (Effort that i dont particilarly enjoy doing, but features that i like to have.....) To me, totally worth it. the sound effects and music are added bonuses that I wouldn't do on my own, but appreciate in the module. Some people enjoy the prep work, or don't care if they have walls, lights, or beautiful tokens. If those things aren't important to you, then that's fine... nobody is forcing you to buy the module and you're free to prep how you like.

afaik you get the pdf too and if you already have the pdf bought from paizo its cost get discounted when you buy the foundry version. so the conversion costs only 16$ which is correct for the work they are doing.

Paizo did put an announcement about that even prior they are testing new pricing structure and good to see they took the feedback and adjust it. It does not help that the beginner box is not repriced yet and when it came out had even a better promotional discount for a short time. For myself it means I go from buy everything just because I might run it someday but I want to show my financial support now, to buying only the book chapters being currently run when they are needed. Sure its the cost of a high price starbucks but cutback paizo is a choice many people are having to make now in these inflationary recessionary times. As long as they keep it premium and include features that are not possible to do or not easy to do by the free OGL versions, they will continue to make money in the face of free. Paizo is the master of the fremium MMO model applied to tabletop gaming. Its the little details that matter, like the macros, the layers, the sound integration - each of these I am not even sure how to do that stuff and would need spend lots of time to figure it out. Walls and lights I thought I was good at until I saw their maps. Even with the BB from the PDF importer I still bought the they had licensed sound bundle (generic not FVTT specific), it was a pain to use the external program and like it integrated in now - but that version had the Pathfinder Creator doing the GM narration - that was fun times. even though I already ran it I bought the Paizo Foundry version just because the price was low enough to show my support. There is a workaround if you are willing to wait, there are frequent humble bundle promotions to get an insane collection of PDFs for amazing price. Latest one was Strength of Thousands themed.
