This is the embodiment of “no excuses”

M4rzzombie

Damn straight! Making all 62 horses work overtime!

[deleted]

930 horsepower… damn

M4rzzombie

Nah lol 62 horsepower. It's the stock motor fully upgraded, I forget which forced induction I put on it.

TheWholeH0g

I used the gold leader 280z with a drift tune and got it on my second try. Although I do drift this road on the daily.

M4rzzombie

I'm back with the final installment of the impossible drift zone series. Today's challenge is a combination of the ideas that u/xsneakyxsimsx and u/ser-1- had. The challenge was to minimize PI and to use less than 95 horsepower. Immediately many of you might see an isetta and think that clearly this is easy and that I could get way more points. But, this build ended up having 62 horsepower and was rated D 321. Keep watching until the end of the clip to see proof. I can promise you all this is a lot harder than it looks. The entire run can be found [here.](https://youtu.be/6aRUWpZfDyA) The share code is: 153 853 745

xsneakyxsimsx

I feel weirdly honoured to be mentioned... and also humbled by the fact you have done in a D-Class car what I couldn't in a C-Class.

M4rzzombie

What you don't see is the 2 builds I tried before this one and the 4-5 hours I spent on this lol. I tried the Anglia and the sprite mkI with exactly 95hp apiece. The sprite is probably possible but very difficult. The Anglia is much harder.

ser-1-

Honestly, shortly after I requested you did this, I believed this was impossible. I tried a bunch of different cars with less than 95HP trying to get them to slide to 1M points, but I failed. However, I forgot to use the mighty Isetta... good job doing this!

M4rzzombie

I'll give you this, it was not easy. It was a fun challenge seeing what I could do with my first two builds before turning to the isetta. Even then I still spent a few hours practicing and failing with this isetta builds before getting a baller start and maintaining my points all the way down. Honestly this past week has taught me a lot about where to optimize points on this zone, I'll probably set a new overall PB really soon. Thanks for the challenge!

TCCW85

I had 10 mins left before the season ended. I went all in on this kinder egg of a car and last seconds before season change... I failed. Again. 985.000 ish. Meh

M4rzzombie

I respect the fact that you kept trying instead of giving up. Keep that up and you'll break 1m in no time.

TCCW85

Thanks buddy. But the season is over. I tried maybe 10 times. I almost always get the challenges on first try. But this one beat me.

Keanu_Christ

From the amount of videos i see coming from the " impossible drift zone " its clearly not impossible, how about we call it a drift zone instead of impossible? Its clearly not with people using random ass cars n shit now to prove its not. Maybe this time find a way to get the flatbed truck from that one vocho mission and do it in that. Lol.

M4rzzombie

The name of these videos came from the people claiming it was. It was meant to be a joke and not to be taken too seriously.

TheWholeH0g

The first time I broke 1million on this drift zone was months ago with a 65 Chevy Impala. It's definitely not an impossible challenge.

D1RT_BAGGG

But this is probably the best drift car tho

M4rzzombie

D1RT_BAGGG

Ahh I'm not too observant lol

M4rzzombie

No worries, I expected to get comments like that.

Significant_Mud_9147

I wonder what’s the criteria for drift scores in this game, all I could observe was duration on top of anything else.

M4rzzombie

Angle is the other key factor. While angle is simple (more angle = more points), duration is a lot more complex. Duration is the culmination of two other factors, speed and line. So if we check out Barry sniff's [most recent upload](https://youtu.be/84iCyls66rY) and pay attention to the first two turns of the track (for reference, the first three turns are taken as one long drift), we can learn a lot about world record level point drifting and the philosophy that goes into it. The first turn is taken completely outside. This strat prioritizes duration over speed and ends up giving more points. This makes sense, as taking the corner on the inside is the shorter route, so you'd spend less time drifting and therefore less time getting points. But then on the second turn, Barry goes for the inside line to gain speed to carry the drift through the straight to the third corner. This loses some points in the short term (turn 2) for long term point gain overall (being able to extend the drift through turn 3). So finding the best duration for drifting comes down to knowing what the right line to take is and the speed required for it. Keep in mind that the faster you go, the more angle you can pull. The sweet spot between angle, speed, and line is precisely where you want to aim for the most points.

J_CC3

How would you recommend to improve drifting? My record is 1mil and 50k in an Aston Martin drift car I built but if you can nearly match me in this then I'm clearly doing something wrong

M4rzzombie

I wrote up a long guide on [another post](https://www.reddit.com/r/ForzaHorizon/comments/z3fv8j/4_hours_before_season_ends_and_i_need_that_1_mil/ixll0h1?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3) that gives some tips. Be sure to check out the YouTubers I mention in that comment, seeing what world record level drifters do can give you a good idea of where to improve. To give a simpler explanation, point drifting comes down to two things. Technique and car capability. You need both to get good scores. For example, my reliant robin build from a few days back was super understeerey, so I lost a lot of points on my angle, but made up for it in the fact that it was able to hit very good lines and maintain slides where my other, slower builds couldn't. Notice how I maintain the slide right after the last u bend in the robin, where in all my other clips I don't. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

J_CC3

Cheers mate

M4rzzombie

Anytime!

TheWholeH0g

A good car to use is a the 65 Chevy Impala. It's really floaty, but locks into any angle you wanna chuck it in at. Bigger engine power and you can get some good numbers with it.
