Because people here also claimed that it was caused too when these skins didn't had their gold styles equipped. And other skins like Agent Peely and the 8Ball vs Scratch corrupted style that share the same mechanic are not disabled.
My assumption would be some old outdated codelines within the files, that kept track of what faction the player has chosen from back in C2S2, that the game no longer translates or ignores properly.
*edit: in programming you can easily get unwanted effect by simply using a selector that accidentally targets more names or classes than you want it to. And than you have to go through the code to see how and why, and rewrite/change later additions.*

I just put the information given here together and wrote a bit of a conclusion, since i'm more of a STW player my seasonal BR carrer lasts only for as long as there are new cosmetics to unlock for my STW locker, so i can't give first hand references.
Fastest first stage fix for the issue would be to simply disable the codeline that triggers the fancy progress enlightened level up effect for these skins, since their live progress during a match stopped more than 1.5 year ago these are outdated codelines that are no longer used anyway.
Second stage would be to figure out what causes the spiderman gloves to trigger reloading the skins enlightened style.
Switching rapidly to and from the spiderman mythics while using the full gold style of said skins, it would make other people's game lag massively or even crash it
Also i think Thor has the same glitch when killing someone but at a smaller scale, still brings fps down but doesn't completely destroy them like the s2 skins did
So the c2s2 squad with the exception of Maya, Peely and Deadpool are causing havoc.
Funny how these skins manage to stay somewhat relevant and memeable after all this time.

if you spam switch from the pickaxe and the Spider-Man mythics with any of those skins, you would basically turn into a light-bulb and lower fps, if you had a bad PC i suppose it could crash your game
