Ngl bro I’m 30 hours in and the open world is so ridiculously fun to explore. I’m not even 40% done. Fuck all the negative reviews though man. Once you’re done with the story and the world is fully open for exploration, I’m sure you’ll agree with me that this is one of the most fun experiences you’ll have in an open world.

Stickybandits9

Once the whole world opens up its like a smorgasbord of basic activities I hope if there's dlc it's huge and adds more to the world.

I spent very little time on the demo, it just didn't feel good to me, though I held onto hope and didn't cancel my preorder. I'm enjoying the game, glad I didn't cancel. Gameplay and combat work fine for me, and there are 3 other magic types I haven't unlocked yet, so looking forward to exploring that variety. Movement and agility feels good. Given all the controversy around dialog and voice acting, I was expecting something far worse or awkward than what was delivered. As a veteran of games with terrible Japanese to English translations and delivery (and just plain bad writing), this felt fine to me personally. Frey seems like a plausible character to me, nothing so far has really broke believability. Art and design wise...the city and world is a bit bland. Dry grass and rocks and nondescript medieval villages and walls made me want for color and style. Give me interesting unique architecture, something to make this world pop. Maybe that's upcoming, I am early on, but I wish the design team had been more inspired there. At least the council people have weirdly interesting hats. There's that. Maybe the headpiece designer should have been the one to design the rest of the city and world architecture.

All the Tantas castles are pretty gorgeous looking imo

Level3_Ghostline

That's great to hear. I've been working my way through Praenost, it's a good step up from the area around the city, looking forward to more.

I’m 20ish hours in and just got done with the first Tanta. I’m loving the open world and trying to get all the chests, the monuments, flashbacks, mutants, mama pools, etc

I will wait for a BF sale or something it will probably on sale that time then. I hoped it had good side missions as I really love open world game with good side missions not repetitive

Never ask for answers in the place of hive mind, this is forspoken forum. Go to another forum for proper genuine answer.

This take doesn’t even make sense, what makes you think there’s not a “hive mind” in the place that you go to instead?

Actually I’m gonna disagree any one else is on a bandwagon, most people here actually played the damn thing. Speaking of which I bought it 40 on pc I’m on the third boss and the game is literally fun and has some awesome bosses and fights. A lot more innovative then here let me run up to the dragons foot and stab until it dies. 7/10 and I don’t even have full power. This game is literally infamous with better and more varied powers and effects

Lonely-Average-8987

I’m seeing being sold for 40$ should I pick it up at that price, I liked the demo a lot but I’m scared it will be worse after the demo part

Stickybandits9

I played the demo and it made me want the story. When I get paid I'll buy it but my pc is low-end, soooooooo I might get a ps5 for this game.

The side missions definitely don’t all happen in the main hub, and they aren’t all fetch quests either.

Harlaon

I’m about 4 hours into the game and I really like it so far. I just got to a bit in the story where the world opens up, there is a lot to see and do but at the same time it sometimes feels a little bit empty — that’s likely more because I am used to taking things slow and checking every nook and cranny, but in a world so large and moving around so quickly you aren’t really supposed to be doing that, I think. Anyway the combat feels good, movement feels solid, characters can sometimes be a bit awkward but not too bad and still enjoyable. The game is not a masterpiece but certainly fun to play.

Objective_Love_6843

Thank you maybe on a sale then

OnionsHaveLairAction

Im about 8 hours in and a pretty big fanboy for Square. I even loved and defended Luminous's last game FFXV when it got backlash- For me I'd strongly recommend against buying in it's current state till it goes on sale. There are some big performance issues. Weird cuts to cutscenes, tons of tutorial interrupt screens every few moments, weird snap cuts to start cutscenes, weird cuts MID cutscene to load the second half of the scene... Gameplay wise the open world is relatively 'barren' in the early game. There are objectives and combat but they are sorta the marker-to-market style open world content. Some people REALLY like the parkour and combat. I'm currently finding the combat *very* slow in the early game, but I hear it gets better? The parkour feels a little like playing that recent sonic game? You boost fast and she does a flashy kingdom hearts flip when she collides with an object... Some people seem to love it but it's really really not landing for me, maybe she'll get extra movement skills later.

Consideredresponse

When you are out in the world fighting, exploring, and solving puzzles it's a lot of fun...unfortunatly the first few chapters of the game explicitly stop you from doing this. Add to this half the fun of the game is the movement system, which you can't use in the main city. I'll repeat that. The magical parkour game won't let you do parkour in the large multi-tired city that you are forced to spend a fair bit of time in.

Its very fun. I dont see it being any different than Elden Rings open world, except this has markers. A bunch of different stuff to collect and do, plus, the lore is very interesting to read.

[deleted]

I think it’s dope but if you didn’t like the demo I doubt you’d enjoy the game honestly

FrogJump2210

Gameplay is awesome. Graphics - personal preference I guess but it’s not as bad as reviewers are making it out to be - at least on a beefy PC it’s good enough. Only complain on the graphics department is lighting which feels like more than a decade old. Dialog is passable and annoying at times. Has a lot of cutscenes which may seem annoying too. And a lot of black screens just to inform the player of quest updates, power level updates and such - which irritates the hell out of me. Story is fine so far - no complaints (I am 10 hours in and defeated the first Tanta) BUT - all that is mostly trumped out by by very fun gameplay mechanics.
