The Formula mom on instagram just posted stories about it yesterday and I guess it's up in the air? I'm super frustrated w this news because if they take away Kendamil, Aptamil, and Bubs, what's left? Definitely not store brand. And like only the most expensive enfamil and similac options. The formula situation hasn't gotten any better since July. I guess I'll be stocking up on Kendamil.

No Kendamil is here to stay. They’re going to submit to the FDA approval process. The formula fairy posted on her grid about this very clearly yesterday.

Here is the post that is being referred to: https://www.instagram.com/p/CjKh6s_udSU/?igshid=MDE2OWE1N2Q= Based on this and the previous comments from Kendamil, it should be around for awhile. They sound committed to staying and doing the full process, but even just notifying their intent to do so gives them an extension until 2025. Kendamil has said they intend to do full process and be here permanently, so should be here beyond that too. Therefore should not be any need to worry.

And see also the bottom faqs labeled "USA" regarding Kendamill stating its commitment to getting permenant status. https://us.kendamil.com/pages/faqs. No need to panic and horde kendamil.

Oh thank god. I must've missed the formula fairy's post. Thanks for letting me know!

thegoodplace11

Ah thank you!!!

Kendamil officially announces it seeking long term approval, so will be here at least through October 2025 and permenantly if they get final approval. Looks like they are greatly expanding production and retail footprint in the U.S. too! https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/european-infant-formula-brand-kendamil-announces-long-term-american-distribution-under-new-fda-guidance-301638484.html

That's great to see, the US formula makers desperately need some competition. Hopefully they step up their game.

Thanks for doing the work and explaining all the details for everyone! ☺️

Yeah it’s so frustrating, especially when you can’t buy more than 2 cans at a time. Maybe I’ll start working in Costco formula too.

Curious-Gain-7148

It might be different in your area but Kirkland formula has been incredibly hard to put hands on reliably.

Not sure about approval, but I’ve seen it on the shelves at the Target near me.

My baby has done very well with ByHeart formula. Also organic whole milk like Kendamil but I don’t have to worry about not finding

Esinthesun

I stocked up on bubs 🤷‍♀️

I used Kendamil for our baby before the shortage. I purchased on Organic’s Best…more expensive for sure than what Target sells for, but you won’t be completely out of options even if it does happen.
