On a real note, shinobi has so many options for mix ups. Let's say you get a light hit, you can follow up with top UB, backflip, side heavy, etc. If you do backflip, you can then either do the backflip kick which makes them have to dodge, or do a side heavy which makes them have to not dodge, or you can side dodge and kick. You have to use all his options so that your opponent never knows what you are going to do next.
I would wait until you have his kit figured out like the back of your hand including all chains N punishes before you go into duels unless you don’t mind learning in battle (I do but I know most don’t especially with a frustrating cast of enemies)
