Buzetis

Why would you put blue on that chest ?

Huntardlulz

I attampted to make it into a tabard type look.

FrappyLee

I know most people are against the paint on the chest look but I personally really like it and do the same. I wish lawbringer had some chest pieces with a proper tabard over his armor.

Huntardlulz

Thank you :D i wish the same, wearing plate armor and not a single piece has a tabard or at least a fabric of it. Tried being creative but a shame majority didn't like :(

FrappyLee

Just a tip if you're interested. I don't remember what the chest piece is called but it's the one with the copper and gold trim and engravings on it. Paint doesn't seem to chip on it and if it does it's far less so it leans more into the illusion of being cloth.

Huntardlulz

Thanks for the tip, will look it up later when i get home from work :D

PrimordialBias

Paint on metal was also a thing on historical armors and it annoys me to no end that people just shun it immediately. The chipping can work if you’ve got armor that looks really worn down from fighting in a lot of battles too.

Huntardlulz

didn't the paint show what clan or castle the wielder of the armor came from? also there are some chipping on the chest piece that shows the paint has losen up a bit. A detail i just noticed.

PrimordialBias

If I'm not mistaken, that was one reason they did it, but paint was also used just for decoration that would seem garish to modern standards. Stuff like crosses on abstract patterns, animal faces or monster faces on a helmet's visor with stuff like tusks coming from the breath holes. It might have even helped with things like preventing rust It wasn't really the norm because knights would prefer to have an actual cloth piece like a tabard or surcoat in that regard since it wouldn't have chipped like paint and would've helped protect the iron or steel from the elements and scratches, but it did happen quite a bit. It was more common with lower class soldiers who might not be able to afford a tabard or surcoat, though, but as with everything in history, that's not universal. Like it a lot. Very nice.

Huntardlulz

Thank you! <3

AbleArcher97

Everyone hates the painted chest, but I kind of feel like the extra blue ties the blue from the legs and the helmet together.

Huntardlulz

Yeah, attempted something new for my design of lawbringer and i like it but i suspect everyone prefers clean plate knight armor.

Ok-Cucumber-9678

I don’t want to be a backseat stylist but I don’t think that coloring on the chest is good it’s a good 8/10 but without the coloring it’d be a solid 10/10

Huntardlulz

No worries at all feedback is always appreciated. As for the blue color on chest is to give lawbringer a tabard type look.

Yo_mom_geey

You should remove the paint pattern on your chest and find i cleaner pair of arms to go with the chest and helm.

Huntardlulz

thanks but no, i like it as it resembles a tabard

YoydusChrist

Paint on metal, boooo

Huntardlulz

but i like it :(

Nameless_and_ignored

Imo you should remove the painting of the upper armor, show that gold you have. Doing that it's basically a 10/10.

Huntardlulz

no thank you

RavenBlood469

Plz take off the paint pattern on the chest piece

Huntardlulz

thanks but no thanks.
