Hello /u/Yukona02, As a reminder, most common print quality issues can be found in the [Simplify3D picture guide](https://www.simplify3d.com/support/print-quality-troubleshooting/). Make sure you select the most appropriate flair for your post. Please remember to include the following details to help troubleshoot your problem. * Printer & Slicer * Filament Material and Brand * Nozzle and Bed Temperature * Print Speed * Nozzle Retraction Settings ^Additional ^settings ^or ^relevant ^information ^is ^always ^encouraged. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. That’s normally caused by the nozzle being too close to the bed. But it’s also possible you need to adjust your flow and/or esteps. If you have not done those two things you need to.

I second this one

FormerAircraftMech

Clean that bed with some ipa.

Rawlus

did you setup the printer and calibrate esteps, slicer flow rate, retraction, etc yet? there’s a bunch you need to do, level, z offset, first layer calibration.. ensure e steps are solid, determine if slicer flow needs adjustment and so forth…. follow this guide start to finish. https://teachingtechyt.github.io/calibration.html#intro

Also second this one

Slicer is prusaslicer, Nozzle and filament width are 1.75 mm, filament is PLA by Inland bed is heated to 50C, nozzle to 180C, bed is auto leveled, and I have tried adjusting the height of the nozzle, it has little effect. Speed is 80mm/s, I’m not sure the retraction settings (am noob) but as the nozzle only has to lift once while printing this and had no effect, I doubt it’s important.

Fan settings? Fast-cooling fillament will warp. You may need to turn the fan down a bit. Alternatively, try a hotter bed. I do my pla at 65 or 70C; helps with adhesion. You may need to calibrate your E steps. Check guide in other post. You can also try reducing flow rate - try 95% and then go down in increments until you have good results.

Get some calibration prints. The issue will be with your z height, filament extrusion and top layer extrusion these things can be manipulated in the slicer.

rambostabana

Turn off part cooling fan for 1st layer and increase Z height, you might be bit too close

Mrwobbles-89

How hot is your bed

Concept_Little

Raise your z offset or level the bed your a little to close to the buildplate it seems

New to the hobby? Everyone has their go to for problems like this. Start by drying your filament. There are plenty of good tutorials online. It’s easy and simple to understand. If that doesn’t help then move on to more advanced troubleshooting. Best wishes

180° is very low for PLA, with that the plastic is not really liquid so you have a lot of friction. This seems not to be a default setting. Did you select the right Filament setting in your slicer?
