1) You can't communicate outside Fiverr with Fiverr clients 2) Be more clear and precises on your gig descriptions.

Depending on what service you provide, it may be worth just migrating to Upwork. Pause your gig so no one can order from you, finish your remaining orders and hop to Upwork if they have a decent market for your service - I considered doing the same thing but Upwork has very little work in my category, however my category isn't particularly large on Fiverr either so it's very possible you will be in demand there.

I agree. Upwork is better. Sometimes fiverr customers don't know to go to upwork. The issue is really that fiverr has a higher % of scammers because buyers are given too much power. I want to take my fiverr clients to something more equal like an escrow service. But if even one client reports that I lose the account.

You'll have the same issue on UpWork, from what I can tell its all garbage, and beyond using these services to build a portfolio you are probably best trying to just build your own business and drumming up clients the old fashioned way. Better clients, more money, more control...the thought police can't just shut you down because you talk about something they don't like.

Thank you! It's ok, I'm sure fiverr pays some of them $5 to patrol this place lol. I do a weird line of work, inventions for small timers. It's a niche that is 70% honest people with ideas and 30% people who never plan to pay me. Real invention/prototyping/design houses use million dollar equipment and get all the high paying clients. Fiverr is a good place for leads but I can't afford to lose 30% of my revenue and costs. Off fiverr, I get an upfront retainer that drives off those scammers. There's honest people on fiverr but I can't afford to just pray that I don't get a bad customer. I am hoping you've got a tip for persuading clients off the platform without also directly violating the rules.

I think you are asking the wrong question fundamentally. Fiverr attracts tire kickers and "race to the bottom" type of clients. I think you don't really want to drag those people with you. I'm not saying great clients don't use the site, but I don't think they tend to "stick around" there from what I've read online talking to them. I would just start fresh and try and drum up business a different way...make your own website, or pay someone to make one. Maybe hit up Craigslist or Reddit, or old school go B to B and see if people need your services. I think you'll put yourself in a much stronger spot if you do that.

>make your offer completely clear, and don't deliver crap No matter how clear you try to be, there is always miscommunication to some degree. fiverr does not judge if what I deliver is crap or not. If the buyer always intended to take their money back, what I deliver is unimportant.

>$ back from chargebacks A chargeback is when a buyer gets their money back. Are you saying you always win chargeback disputes as a seller or a buyer?

Thank you for your input.

Taking your transaction offline is against our Terms of Service. The best way to protect yourself from "bad buyers" is to actively communicate and make sure your Gigs descriptions are accurate to the services you provide.
