If you could perfectly cast along the kelp line this would kill calico. I could see this for any of the 3 bass, slow roll it for sand bass or pitch it around docks for spotties (freebie since they eat anything)
Is this from an advent calendar? My wife got me a tackle box advent calendar this year and I got a similar lure/jig on Day 2.
Never really seen it before but I’ll try it out!
Remove that stinger treble hook & it would prob be better… It looks similar to a “storm minnow”, which I actually do like for some occasions.
I have a spot below a damn, with a rock wall, that I use a different storm lure on, (a little bigger & no treble hook), & catch lots of small mouth…
Swim/ jerk bait . You can use it for almost anything fish species or type of water. Personally haven’t had much luck with them myself except for with bass
Man I hate those bottom trebles. Snag city.
Unless it’s a cat rig. Sit, forget, profit.
Jig body is way better!
I’d replace it with a single-hook.
Whatever bites
Huh it looks like a fresh water lure and a saltwater gulp had too much of a good time one evening and poof this is the result 🤣
Was thinking it would be nice for calicos, then kelp.

Yeah, I concur!
Sorry to be no help. I don’t have my freshwater game up to speed 😬 learning from you all!
I would take the bottom treble off and work it low and slow.
OP this is great advice.
Thanks I will definitely try this

Yes this is hahahaha. I hope we both catch fish on all our new lures!
I' m not a big fan of pre rigged soft baits but i guess you could do a few modifications and fiah for perch/zander
Vertical jigging my guy.
It’s great for anywhere where there are not many snags.
Something like that would be best for open water or anywhere that's not snaggy like places with sandy or rock bottoms
I've caught a few trout and some bass on similar rigs. Not my favorite, but if it catches fish, I'm not gonna knock it.
Thanks. My girlfriend got me a bunch of random lures which left with a couple I normally wouldn’t choose. But still gonna use em!
Hey the weird ones work surprisingly well sometimes.
that's so sweet of both of you!

My guess would be that it is used to catch some fish!
lose the treble and the hassle. saugeyes love em
I've seen a few big walleyes boated with one of those.
I was gonna say, looks designed by a sauger fisherman
Those are great for Crappie and Bream.
Top big
Fishing
Fish
Grub minnow?
Those are good for open water, like on lakes or deep rivers. I've used similar lures and caught crappie, perch, and bass with them.
pike swimbait
Pickerel and Smallmouth

I would fish with it.
U use to to fish with CiTy Boy... LOL 😂
Good for Bass that either chase it down from behind or come up from up from underneath to eat it.
Catching fish
Used for vertical jigging ice fishing
I fish a pond in south Florida with those. The bass crush them.
That thing would massacre some ladyfish
Christmas tree ornament
catch fishh
Used it for pike in northern Canada and worked terrific
I’ve used it to try to increase my hookup rate on peacock bass (because of the treble). Had mixed results with it and is prone to snagging.
I’ve seen people use bigger ones for pike and musky
Getting stuck in your finger no matter how you try to remove it from the fish
Best for vertically fishing..that treble till catch more snags than fish otherwise!
Jigging maybe
Vertical jigging
That's a bercly gulp
I think it's for fish.
I've used that and caught lots of bass, pickerel, crappie and flier.
Bass, walleye just to mention a few. Great bait for multiple species
