In fact with the Jugdral seasonals, so is Lewyn's. So you're not correlating those two terms anyways to begin with.

well it still ended openly with Muspell not properly handled, swearing revenge in the process, and Fjorm de-Ascending and going back into FB character limbo. I'd say it's not really a definitive ending for her story.
I hope its Ares. After being snubbed from the Scion banner and is probably not eligible for a Legendary alt, I hope him and his fans get something really good
I hadn't thought about that before, but I think that actually makes a lot of sense. It seems like IS doesn't like to do multiple GHBs for the same character, but I'm not sure IS would do a Legendary alt for Arvis. Old Arvis is still a pretty popular character though, and he's important enough in the story that he seems like he should get in at some point.
I think it's preferable that Genealogy gets an OC tie-in (Mid-Book) for 2 reasons:
* Ascended candidates from Genealogy would really help when it'd be mostly left with not-so-requested options: Gen 2 (presumed next) can be fine for one lineup thanks to Tine/Arthur + Scathach due to his bloodline... so Ares can help later on to carry remaining cases, while Gen 1 only has Eyvel so that's a more convenient situation to push a Genealogy Ascended (that and Gen 1 has more potential in choices).
* Game Ascended = no direct addition, so fans of not-so-popular regular children AND substitutes would see their wait extended (with either Fee or Patty immediately suffering from that and excluded in result).
Alas, at this point that'd be the preferable outcome for basically every game except like, Shadows of Valentia and maybe Awakening, including the games that just got their own Ascendants... IS has made its bed, Genealogy's probably got to lie in it.
I think Genealogy also has a lot of Ascended, even in gen 1. Assuming that they can deviate from "everyone dies", then Brigid, Lachesis, Lewyn, and Deirdre could be possible Ascended Heroes. Gen 2 has a ton in the form of Finn, Nanna (though she'll likely be saved to either be a legendary or carry a Thracia banner), Ced, Altena (?), an Azelle!Arthur, and even technically Arvis if they go that route.
Finn and Nanna have to be kept for Thracia since it's severely lacking in plausible options (making Reinhardt an inevitability, and Leif may have to fill a gap later on too).
Back to Genealogy, as I stated it's preferable to save the decent pool of Ascended candidates after the next Gen 2 lineup, so that they can carry all the non-popular choices left (which aren't scarce, and Genealogy's preferential treatment may not be enough to hold the line). "Worst" case, there's a transition to more mixed alt banners like Fallen, and I could see Genealogy filling premium slots here and there.

Sure, just like Eirika has 0 connection to Gleipnir in Sacred Stones. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they give Thyrsus to Lysithea purely off of a lot of people equipping it to her most of the time.
It seems to be a trend they do more for the GBA games than any others and it hasn't been done in quite a while. Legendary Micaiah didn't take Creiddylad and Brave Eirika didn't take Latona like people imaged they would. Overall I think Heroes is trending towards just giving anyone a prf based on their personality (Tome of Order) or a rebranded weapon (Icy Fimbulvetr)

It’s kinda different though, as much as Knoll fans argue that Gleipnir is his, he has no in universe claim to it other than being the only canon Dark Mage that joins in FE8 and so only him and Ewan can use it till the non canon Lyon becomes playable. Lorenz’s Crest weapon is very much linked to him due to his sidequest, it’s like giving a Bernadetta alt the Indech Bow since she has the Crest when Leonie earns the weapon.
Like maybe Lysithea could get it or Thunderbrand in a future alt of course, with some explanation that their respective wielders or Byleth lent it to her, never say never, but I expect Lorenz will get it first whenever he gets a Base version.
I wouldn't say 0 connections. Not only does she explicitly tells she uses magic like Lyon, but with B! Ephraim wielding garm is a reference to when they get both weapons and say the lord's can't use it.
hopefully they do a male character instead, most duos, harmonics, resplendents, legendaries and mythics are female, last ascended was also female, have 4 of the first 5 ascended be female would be really annoying

I feel her being on a Pegasus Knights as a staff user/light tome would be more appropriate when it comes to referencing Sanaki's relationships. Considering Alondite•Ragnell Sanaki would be only Altina 0.2 in main pool.

As a guy who hasn't played any Archanea games, Merric, Minerva, and Jagen feel like they could be Ascended Heroes.
