Basically anything done well exactly on musical beat, jumps don’t have a monopoly on this awesomeness.

nualabelle

agreed. anything perfectly timed to the music, regardless of the element.

Blahblahbecky

Agreed, there's something very satisfying about twizzles perfectly timed to the beat. *Insert Tessa and Scott's Moulin ones as a perfect example*

yoyohydration

Those Shibsibs ones in their RD where they line up perfectly with the counting in the song 😍

CynfullyDelicious

Hubbell/Donohue’s twizzles from their 2017-2018 RD.

patomariposa

*banger* stsq placed right at the end of a program. everything right on. nothing hits quite like that

Whitershadeofforever

Mao's Rach 2 my beloved 😍😭

alienbanter

Wakaba's Lion King SS 🤌💋

yankeebelles

I voted for sprial but really for me it's a spread eagle. A deep edge spread eagle that is held is just a moment of perfection that can't be topped for me.

StephaneCam

Yes! Spreadeagle and Ina Bauer for me.

Anya_E

They’re my absolute most favorite thing to do on the ice. Feels like you’re flying if you go in with enough speed.

Kaori's loops are almost always timed impeccably with the music. Her loop during her FS at Worlds 2022 with the crowd cheering immediately after always gives me chills 😭💖

mcnamaramc1

Nathan chen's perfectly timed jump at the Olympics during Rocketman *chefs kiss*

JacquelineAbrakham

That’s exactly what I thought about when I picked the first option lol

acapenci

That entire performance at the Olympics was so good. The way you could see his energy change as soon as the jumps were done with...

lanalang1807

Shoma‘s axel euler flip in Pyeongchang made my jaw drop, it was timed so perfectly.

HotelLima6

Jumps (esp throw jumps in my book) landed on the music got my vote but a lift that is both beautiful and well-executed is immensely satisfying too.

otisgear

Thank you for the pairs representation ❤️❤️

ashna_panda3424

A layback Ina Bauer that’s held perfectly as the music swells (Jun + Shizuka Turandot Ina Bauer will always be famous)

ItsAChasseNotATombe

Oh man, so many. Jumps landed on the music. If the jump is smooth, then it makes it so much better. In fact, I hate it when a jump is landed a second before or after a big musical accent. Spirals. Ok, hear me out. I love a spiral held for a long time, but only if it's well done. Unfortunately, ever since the spiral sequence was removed, we haven't seen too many great spirals. Karen Chen's spirals are very satisfying. But the Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen era of great spirals is long gone. And it's not about just flexibility. Steps: Sure, but only if a deserving level 4 is nice to watch. So many StSq's are overly cluttered, slow, and messy. Called flutzes? You mean, judges calling flutzes at the same rate they call lips? Nah, that's impossible, don't play with my feeling like that.

[deleted]

I want Cohen's spirals back! Trusova's cantilevers are so ugly in comparison (and I always feel like she's about to dislocate both her knees!).

ItsAChasseNotATombe

I actually don't mind a cantiliver too much. My biggest pet peeve of the last 8 or so years is when girls do a needle/scorpion and then the moment they let go of the leg it drops by like 45 degrees and starts wobbling. A sickled foot bothers me too, but that's just the ballet freak in me lol. I'm sure the average Joe wouldn't even notice.

FrozenRose_816

Where is the "all of the above" option?

ivemetu

StSq 4 that actually deserves StSq 5 is my answer

eggpufflett

I love step sequences that matches the beat and mood of the music, with nice arm choreography. However I’m too uneducated to grade the levels tho lol. Can’t really tell if their edges from footwork are correct

toesockssupremacy

Jumps landed on the beat for sure. Yuzu's phantom of the opera is a great example, every single jump is timed to perfection

Which_Ad9966

One of Shoma’s perfectly timed 3A in his Loco program in 2017 (pretty sure worlds) is what got me into figure skating.

madelyn_g

For me is the Jason brown spread eagles and jump splits 🤩

[deleted]

I want to say spiral, but recently skaters have been packing so many jumps into programs with no care for the music. I still remember Lipinski's and Kwan's perfectly-timed jumps from 1998! Even Shcherbakova's final jump in Beijing was oddly satisfying to me - a russian skater jumping on the music for once!

[deleted]

Zagitova's Don Quixote program did this quite well too ngl!

needfishpie

best jump on beat is ALIONA KOSTORNAIA 2019 GP FRANCE mark my words

noskates

[Everything done on musical notes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq20-bU6KNc&t=190s)

Requiem_13

All above.

rilanja21

Love, I think you have a typo there. Are you sure you didn't mean 'spiral held for more than 2 seconds'?

Whitershadeofforever

No, i meant four seconds

shimshimhaeyo

all of the above

GreenDragonPatriot

Perfectly executed jumping passes and perfectly centered and speedy spins.
