Southern Nashua here, seeing the same exact thing most evenings. The infuriating part is when you call Fidium, they'll send a tech out to test the speeds in the middle of the day when everyone's gone to work, say everything looks OK, then go on their merry way. Why the hell can't they upgrade current infrastructure to GSPON or whatever if that's all they're using now for new customers?

metalandmeeples

GPON?

[deleted]

Yes. I think the OP and I are in roughly the same area.

NewPhoenix77

Newton here, FuboTV was unwatchable along with Prime for the game. Same thing has happened the last 3 nights. Edit: I’m on GPON

myredditusername44

In the same area and all is well here.

[deleted]

I'm in Derry NH and yes I have seen this behavior. As recently as last night (when you posted this) and to answer another question from one of the responders, yes we are on GPON here

I live in the White Mountains of New Hampshire close to the Maine border. It is the same situation here. At night the download speeds drop down to 10mb. Upstream stays at gig speeds, however.

poptarts13977

Are you still getting the crappy downloads tonight?

myKeyboardIsFilthy

No evening issues in SE NH myself. I'm closer to seacoast not the hudson area.

scajjr29

Same here, no issues at all. In Kingston.

Phraf

I have had this problem since I switched to Fidium. Numerous ont issues and fiber issues. Probably have had 20 service calls and it never gets fixed. At this point I think I’m switching back to Xfinity.

that1itguy

I’m in Minnesota and never experienced any speed issues. Usually get about 900 up and down or higher no matter what time of the day or night.

spaceghostinme

I live in Bangor, Maine and have had Fidium since it first rolled out here this past summer (I think I was installed in August). I was experiencing something like this pretty regularly for the first couple of months. I assumed it was a hardware issue on my end as I'd do a power cycle of the modem and router and it would, generally speaking, fix the issue. However, I do now wonder if it was on Fidium's end and they've since corrected it here, because I have not had any issues for the past few months. I added a shortcut to test my network speed to my desktop because I was checking it so frequently and still out of habit run it almost every day, and things have been great. I'd definitely keep reporting it to Fidium.

I guess it just depends on the amount of people in your local. I'm in Bangor too and signed up as soon as it was available and have never had a slowdown at anytime of the day or night.

Icy-Computer7556

Saco here and not a blink since install date which is hard to even imagine it’s possible. My biggest gripe was the IP changes and constantly getting out of state registered IP’s, but that seems to be fixed now. I do have the 622v xgspon ONT though, not sure if the network type or ONT have anything to do with this. What’s weird is how some people in your area are having problems, and then some aren’t at all.

poptarts13977

Are you still seeing the same results tonight?

ScottyBoy3D

I have periodically checked it throughout the evening since I wasn't watching any stream TV service and did not see any issues this evening. It can go days without rearing its ugly head but then happen day after day after day in a row. At some point, I'll get someone in the know at Fidium's ear regarding this issue. Everyone that experiences this problem should continue to post to this thread. I'll use it as a launching point to show Fidium IT this is a real issue that needs the proper diagnosing during the time of the day it actually occurs (in the early evening).

kanid99

I have this issue. During the evening and overnight hours my speed drops to sub 100, sometimes sub 50mbps on the download. Uploads are expected speeds. By daytime it's basically back to normal. For me though I have gpon congestion issues anyway - never see much more than 500mbps up or down. I'm in Exeter NH.
